Now we have this monster 470 horsepower 4-door muscle car. From 2007 - 2009 Dodge produced Super Bee Special Edition SRT8 that added Navigation, Larger Rims, DVD, and some Special Edition Badging. This also raised the price on those models. But for 2013, Dodge is offering a car aimed at the enthusiast. This new Super Bee SRT8 is actually cheaper than the regular SRT8 at $42,250 compared to $45,250. This sweet 4-door muscle car is sure to be a big hit.
The 2013 Dodge Charger is the second iteration of the resurrected model. The Charger is a true modern day muscle car since it checks the right boxes; mainly RWD and a huge V-8. In the old days when you owned a muscle car and lifted the hood up, the engine was right in your face in all its glory. Over time it seems auto manufacturers have moved to covering the engine with plastic pieces. Not so with the new Super Bee; the 6.4 liter HEMI V-8 stares back at you. The engine makes 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque. It is hard to find a car out there that puts out this much power for $42k. All the power needs a good transmission, so rather that use the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission that resides in the base model, Dodge put in a strong 5-speed transmission to handle all the power.
Dodge is trying to tie things together as a brand. The Super Bee has a crosshair grille. More vehicles from Dodge have this signature feature. At night the rear LED tail lights really pop. On the inside the Dodge Charger Super Bee the interior is very plain. That keeps the price down but also enthusiasts are not interested in all that stuff. The gauges are unique to the SRT family and the seats have Super Bee trim. About only options on the 2013 Dodge Charger Super Bee SRT8 are the high performance tires and the paddle shifters which are worth every single penny.
Overall for the money, the Super Bee is a terrific value. No other car gives you this much power and fun. If you want to have a little fun and make a little noise, this car is the perfect choice.

Hate to tell. The super bee edition would dust the 5.0. It's lighter than a standard srt8.
The models before these were more reminiscent of the 68's with the round tail lights I think....those ones look more like the 69's....very nice car
And not everyone wants 2 doors. That's why there's a Challenger with the same chassis and engine. I needed 4 doors, and picked up a 2012 SRT8 last summer. 11k+ miles later, the car still puts a smile on my face every time I pull out of the garage.
Wish they actually had a guy that likes and appreciates street hot rods doing this clip, and not just some guy reading off cards .

My 2012 Superbee has crushed 5 different 2011-2013 Mustang GT's. Also, the handling, I believe, it much better than you discuss in this video. I've nailed 1.01 and 0.99g corners with no rear end slide.
The only review I've watched where anyone made any kind of complaint about the handling. Personally my 13' R/T handles pretty damned well for a full size sedan. I was amazed at how competent it was through curves! The SRT has an available suspension that can be adjusted as well so that it will stiffen up when you need it to be sporty and it softens when you're just out for a cruise on the highway.
i just beat 392 twice and lost once in my 06 CTS-V now i am looking this thing up :)

Drove one just like this 3 days ago... Very basic, no leather, just cloth seats, very small screen compared to the regular 392s, but it sure did get on it! It would burn rubber without me even noticing...

Nice car for the straight away driving but not for doing any track type racking. I heard does not corner or turn very well - not because of the weigh of the car but the lack of mechanics in the suspension system.

Compare the Mustang with the Camaro and the Challenger. Differences are minuscule and if you don't plan on keeping it OEM, anything now a days can be tuned with a couple grand.
Why compare cars based on performance if you don't plan on keeping it stock?
Where did you get that information? The only thing the 6.4 is worse in is fuel cost.

Well the best times I have seen out of the regular SRT8 Chargers is 12.5 to 12.6 with 1.9, 1.8 60 ft's. The best times out the Bee's right now are in the 12.3 range stock with the same 60 ft's. Not saying the standard SRT Charger won't run in the 12.4's but I haven't seen it.
The 5.7 and 6.4 get the same mpg in the Challenger (according to Dodge's ratings). Not sure about the Charger's ratings

perhaps he didnt know that (most likely the case) is the reason he wasnt too happy with it, with the ability to adjust the shocks there are ways to make this car handle perfect.

The Charger was supposedly the Dodge Intrepid because is 4 door sedan but in the last minute change, renamed it to Dodge Charger to appeal customers that is a muscle car. That's why is a muscle car despite being 4 door sedan

Also that is not a standard SRT8 Charger, that is the Super Bee trim level which is a more stripped down version and is 200 lbs lighter than the Standard SRT8 Charger. I have a black 12 Super Bee and stock runs consistent 12.4's with it, no GT's do that. Also the standard SRT8 has all the bells and whistles as well that the Super Bee does not have.
Last i checked its whats under the hood that makes a car a muscle car, not the number of doors it has

So-so handling and steering? Was this a base model with Super Bee decals? Lol. I mean, I know it's not an M5, but there is nothing "so-so" about these. Love that they stuck with 4 doors; if you want 2, buy a Challenger.
i think this car at this priceline can be compared with genesis r-spec. just saying. i think that price and the class they are in and the power output are pretty similliar :P
Every Dodge since 1985 has a crosshair grille. Or in the case without a grille[Intrepid,Viper,Neon] a lower intake. Lancers,Shadows,Spirits,Stratus',Dynastys,Avengers,400s,600s,Omnis,Durangos,Dakotas,Rams,Chargers,Darts,Caravans. All except the Challenger which mimics to 1970s version. Almost 30 years of CROSSHAIRS!

It's the exact same engine as the Challenger SRT8, which you can get with a 6 speed manual. It's a family sedan with giant testicles, they just won't put a manual in it.

You must have your info mixed up. This 6.4 is making 471hp. The 5.7 is 370. There's a 101hp difference there, my friend.

Expect the see the supercharged Hellcat engine in the higher tier cars in Dodge's lineup by around 2014/2015. Should (and hopefully) bump them up to Ford and Chevy's level to compete better. Dodge has had their head pretty far up their ass these days.

no, that is a sports coupe, not a muscle car. Websters dictionary states " any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving". minus of course Corvettes and other sports cars. muscle cars are light weight, no frills, big engine cars. i should know, i have owned 3 in my life, a 71 Charger, 70 Cuda ( pony car ) and currently own a 68 Road Runner.
Mustang GT just as fast? Doubt it. 2013 Charger has 470HP, with 470 lb.-ft torque. 2013 Mustang GT has 420HP, with 390 lb.-ft torque. Slight difference there, no?

Well its faster because of the weight, this dodge charger superbee is heavier than the mustang gt 2013. This car is sedan. Don't compare cars depending on their engines. the dodge charger srt8 superbee has 6.4 L, the mustang GT has 5.0 L, and the mustang GT is faster.
