Pffffffffffft WHAT?! As a former teacher I can confidently say that getting your GED is NOT a shameful thing, and DOESN’T mean that education “fell to the wayside” or just wasn’t important.” GOOD on them for having the commitment to FINISH. This assumption is a little mind blowing.

As someone who wound up getting my GED due to health issues, this kind of thinking is very common. I had a "friend" at the time joke that I got my Good Enough Degree. That really hurt, especially because I had spent 7 years attempting to finish high school the traditional way but it just wasn't going to happen due to my health struggles. But I did excellent on my GED because of all I had learned. I have it framed on my wall because of the incredibly hard work it represents.

An on a job application they see a high school diploma, an GED as the same, an to be honest I have seen a GED prep book an I graduated high school an from college, an had issues with answering the questions so as far as the GED test goes it's not easy by far

I got my GED solely so I could take my astrophysics and astrobiology courses sooner, and it also enabled me to partake in occupational engineering/astroengineering training. I would love to quiz that person on basic science and math. Because clearly THEY are the uneducated ones. GED is not a lesser equivalent degree....

@@BMarie774 That's amazing, good on you! I know lots of people get a GED to finish high school sooner, so they can get started on the college or training program they want. So it's definitely not just an "if you can't do traditional high school" option.

It is so beautiful that Nicole asked Shelley to be in the delivery room with her. That means she really trusts her which is of course beautiful with Lacey too, but Nicole hasn't been in the family that long so it makes it even more special.
Also about education: every kid is different and everyone needs different challenges and forms of education. I'm European, don't really know what a GED is, but I don't think we should judge anyone as long as they try to learn and improve. And that can be a different journey for everyone.

A GED is a general education certificate. You study up and take a test and it’s on a variety of school topics. It is not a diploma which many people think is better. Sometimes it can be harder to get into some colleges.

You made me so happy when you said you block people who are disrespectful (hateful) to the children. Yes! As parents we feel their emotions. We protect. My children are in their 30s and I am still protective if someone was unkind. As I should. Much love from me here in chilly Nottingham 🇬🇧

I don't think it's just that you're blessed with well behaved children, but your kids know that you have their back and they can trust you, and they have a huge family and everyone seems to be supportive of each other so they probably all feel safe and validated so they don't have a reason to act out.

Dude as someone with albinism (an albino person) I totally understand what you guys are saying about getting stares! Don't treat me like a spectacle - either say hi or mind your business. Observing me in the wild is not the same as knowing me. It feels intrusive and like a violation of my privacy - I'm just picking up groceries, walking my dog ect. not trying to get gawked at. I'm much more okay with people making friendly conversation but honestly, my condition is a personal matter and I'd rather strangers not bring it up at all.
