It was cold and raining. He beat some world class sprinters by almost 10m. This was one of his best ever races. On a warm summer day with more on the line this race could have been under 19 seconds. It was only weeks after this that he ran his world record, but here he could have gone faster without having to run all the qualifying rounds first. It's amazing just how far ahead of everyone else he was at this time.
everything you wrote here was fair except for the sub 19. the headwind gives him another tenth at best..so he's running 19.49 form here...and then give him a 1 m/s wind behind him and this race here couldve been 19.43.. now add that it was cold and wet and maybe there's another tenth...bringing him down to 19.33....wet and dry tracks are pretty much the same speed. serious fans knew this race indicated a sub 19.4 was possible, but didnt think he'd go 19.19 so soon. the most disappointing thing with Bolt was that he never actually ran as fast as he could have. He was so far ahead, he didnt need to i guess. there was a sub 9.5 100m, and a 19 flat in the 200m..but we never saw it.
@@timn4481 london 2012 he could go below 19,19s but he eased down after bench and ran 19,32s. He felt that his back injury from 2010 could come back so he took it easy. He would ran actually even slower time than 19,32 if blake would not been pushing him. You can see his bench is super fast but then in straight he slow down and then blake catch him then he push a bit again and then he eased down before finish. Under 9,5s he had best chance in 2011 when his technique and starts were at best but in championship wind was -1,0 so it ruined that possibly and bolt got DSQ but I think he could still ran low 9,6s or high 9,5s in those conditions. He was not faster in pure speed in 2011 than 2009 but his technique and starts were lot better.
@@timn4481 I still believe that Bolt could go under 19 seconds at 200m. Of course, perfect conditions are required, like fast reaction time, strong tailwind and optimized energy conservation.
To put things into perspective, reigning triple champion Noah Lyles -- who is in his peak, won the recent WC with 19.53, after claiming he was going to break the WC. Young Usain Bolt runs 19.59 in RAIN in a casual athletics event! That is the gap between the legendary lightning Bolt and current champs! In pouring rain and 0.9 headwind nonetheless!
This is in the 19.2s with no rain and the wind behind him. Maybe another few hundredths off because he eased slightly. Makes perfect sense why he ran 19.19 later in the season.
Given the rainy/windy conditions, 19.59 is super supreme. Taking nothing away from Lyles who i think has the potential of running 19.40, Bolt's league is in hyperspace
Considering the conditions, this is arguably the best 200m ever run

under 19 secs seems like a stretch, but yeah under better conditions he would've much faster.

Good conditions this would probably be even faster than 19.19s as bolt was more tired running that with all the rounds.
The fastest men alive.
He trained very hard & he sacrifices pay off.
He likes bolt of fire.
The Best of the Best Bolt. Most sympatic sprinter!
NOAH LYLES broke that meeting record in 2019 today, 10 years later
@Patricio Jesus yea, with former Olympic champ Shawn Crawford and with rain...

I wouldn't have believed if told that after 2 years the guy from lane 8 runs 19,80 and takes bronze medal in daegu
He had the most wet lane in this race. He is the fastest European in history. He aint bad
He literly closed 25 meters from last place to 7nd this race.
@@sirrz1267 def not 25 meters, we just went from last to second to last..
He really ripped through that race.
I guess it was well worth it to stand and watch in the rain.
on a dry track he might broke his record

how does Usain get to run in the middle lanes?
Put him in 8 and they are dead to him same way
So his really that good?
the lanes you are put in are dependent on your qualifying times for the final
