- Hey house lovers and explorers! Today I show you 2 neighboring homes that were built in the early 60`s. Michael spotted these a few weeks ago and we checked them but at that stage not accessible so on this day I was on my way to work and thought I would check them again and this time the gates were open along with the homes. Some flooring had been pulled up in one homes exposing some cool old things and toys in the dirt.
A huge double lot with fruit trees and a bird who was keen to get the fruit but then confused on how to get out of the tree coverings! Then a mysterious person turns up!!!
These home will be demolished very soon unfortunately.
Hope you all enjoy the explore, cheers for watching :-)
Thank you for caring enough to help that bird. He was calling to you for help. You have a good heart.
Rescuing that bird was such a wonderful thing to do!
No matter the age of these homes, its such a shame that they are disappearing.
Hello from the United States of America!
Hello Paul and Michael once again two great homes I like to thank you for freeing that bird from the net that was around the tree very sweet of you to do that being that I am a bird lover so thank you again stay safe love from upstate New York
Hi Paul. I’m sure that bird was very grateful that you came along when you did and were able to set him or her free. I wish there were more people like you in the world! Great houses.
Thank you for your kindness, our wildlife needs more people like you 🦜
all your wld life is fab,so real hearing wild life awsome good exsplor.
I wish I could meet you, Paul. You’re exactly the kind of man I would love
:-)
I love your compassion toward animals❣️
I love animals to but them birds are a pest and they are killing of our true native birds very quickly.
Awseome to release Bird He is asking for help poor birdy.
thank god you showd up good deed for the the day thank you poor brid scared you were ment to be ther at that time
Another tragic ending for these homes. There looks like nothing is wrong with them structurally. Beautiful homes and they're to be erased from existence sadly. Thanks for ensuring the bird got free Paul. Cheers.
Hello you tow beautiful👍👍👍 vidéo great to have freed the bird 👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗👋👋👋👋
When I saw that "Person"walking at the back of the house It scared the crap out of me as well, I thought crap you're busted😳
🌟What a great diverson on your way to work an awsome explore in two really nice homes and to save some wildlife and an unexpected bonus Michael to surprise you! Like my diverson a few months back when i met my kitty friend on my way to work 😸i have a photo so i wont forget! Thank you so much again. ❤x😊🌟
Urbex Indigo thanks my friend for sharing this video with me about Abandoned- Two 60`s homes! I free a trapped bird and i glad you shared with me this video i really enjoyed it so much i wll always support this channel and share you out and a thumbs up i am from the U.S.A and i can't wait to see your next video and God Bless.
Man beautiful house a shop my dream house 🏠🏡
I always feel sad to see not only the homes in good condition go, but also some of the lovely well established fruit trees, grapevine and garden plants that get destroyed during the demolishing process. Am glad you happened by to rescue that bird, he was letting you know he was in trouble and was grateful to be set free, good on you!🦘😕🙂
Love all the amazing old ephemera & memoriablia near the un-earthings near the fire place - I imagine each of those items tells a story - the little yellow cab & xylophone but especially the old card/s with the roses (scrap bookers pay good money for vintage ephemera) 🌹I believe the little birdie is a yellow throated miner bird from a glimpse & I recognise their song - so happy you set it free 🐦. Always love a good reno 80's revamp on an old home & happy they kept the old kitchen cabinet for the tools. I always love so see the grey 70's concrete pattern bricks used for garden fencing & decorations & sprinklings of beloved fruit trees - thanks for little glimpses of home memories back then 💕(I love your video intros - the old singer sewing machine is everything) xx
Love these homes, big windows and lots of light. Especially love the huge palm-like tree behind the 2nd home.
Love ❤️ you man 👍 great saving the 🐦 bird hahaha 😆 always a great video urbex cheers 🍻 cool
It is a shame that all the work that went into the flowers, fruit trees, ect. Just to be torn down.
That Matchbox car that you put the cigarette packet next to, looks in great condition.
Nice houses . Somebody made a comment about Paul being nice and freeing that bird. I have seen him in other videos, do what I think is a very caring thing. He has rescued at least one cat and tried to rescue others. But that didn't work. Have a good week Paul.
Man such a shame that beautiful place getting destroyed
Good find
Hello Paul, I hope you had a great day. After going through these homes before work. I liked the first home. I always love seeing fruit trees in the yards. I hate the fact that they will be torn out. I do wonder if anyone will try and save them for their own yards. Can they be saved?
Was surprised they had not salvaged the kitchen cabinets and doors in first home. You think they would do that before removing the floors. I just love the yards with fruit trees, especially as we have a blizzard raging outside right now.
Good n you for helping out that frightened bird. Just as well it was your mate that turned up! Bring back terrazzo I say, I wonder why they don't do this anymore? Or do only rich people get to have this luxury finish these days? It's beautiful.
I hope you're making fig jam with your figs. I used to have a 1mtr bush in a rental I had. Made the best fig jam from that tree. Had to collect them before they ripened, so the birds didn't get them and let them ripen in the house.
2 lovely homes I enjoyed watching 😊
Terrific video as always. Fascinating look at the floor joists. All brick. Genuine fireplaces are all but extinct in new construction in the US. Our home has one (1993). Interior of local river stone. Our son used a pretty upscale contractor and they just gave a him a brick front and gas logs. Not even vented. I thought it was sad. Australia and eastern Canada have some areas of redevelopment that are just amazing. I think the Australian are the more tragic because of the era of the homes. Keep up the great work. You deserve many more subs. ❤
Continue the good work and have a Merry Christmas and a Safe New year's
good job, thanks for saving the bird.
That Jararrah would have been beautiful as floorboards. Two still lovely homes though. I think the bird was a miner bird, (but i havnt't read other comments yet.)
Good on ya, Paul! @ 17:45 the bird you rescued was a Noisy Mynah, a native to South Eastern Australia, & a type of honey-eater. We have some Australian magpies who come to our garden & the mynahs REALLY give them a bit of hurry up. Just as well they are native...
@ 11:51, the article you had a look at was about a TV show: "The Defenders" on TV from about 1961 to '65, starring E.G.Marshall & Robert Reed. I'm full of trivia, mate. Some people think I'm full of something else... Love your work!!!
Hi Paul
You are a true animal lover and not just cats. That was so sweet of you to free that little
bird. He was yelping so you would come and set him or her free. I was nervous when I
saw someone walking on the back patio. I figured it was the owner and you were going
to have to explain what you are doing there. Thank goodness it was your friend Michael.
These 2 houses must have been beauties especially before they ripped up the floor in
the first one. They will knock over these 2 nice houses and put up some ugly cold looking
apartment buildings or maybe build a big mansion that will take up both lots. That second
house looked pretty clean and well taken care of. I am curious about something Paul.
What would happen if someone showed up there that has a connection to the house and
saw you there. Would you get arrested or what would happen? It’s a risk going into these
houses and not getting caught. We appreciate the risk you take to be able to show us
these lovely houses. Thank you for sharing and stay safe and well Paul.
Looks like Italians lived there once upon a time. Fruit trees and terrazzo flooring
Those power roll-up doors 19:43 are worth way more than those crappy kitchen-turned-garage cabinets!🤣
Yay!!!! Wildlife rescue as a bonus 👍
I've had so many birds get stuck in my wood stove when I'm not using it, and my cats just salivating while I try to grab those poor things and get them outside without getting pecked to death...or them getting away from me and caught by my cats...
Thank you for saving the bird!
Hi Paul. Two more great finds. Thank you. 😁
Both typical Adelaide homes during the 60s, with once nicely maintained gardens and that accommodated a family comfortably.
these are beautiful homes.
good video
Another 2 nice old homes the 2nd one has similar features to a early 60s home I grew up around in (Torrensville) has alot of the exact building features. That bathtub i know the exact pedestal basin that would have been there. Such cool features. And the front sash slide up windows with small square paynes. I love it. Thanks for sharing. Cheers MM :)
Great job. I have a bird here like the one you freed. It swarks a lot but only to let us know theres a cat around. Thank you MAUREEN FROM AUSTRALIA (Newcastle)
another good one paul look forward to you putting yr videos up every week well done
I’m getting a home from the 60’s that needs to be refurbished I’m using your vid’s for inspiration
Thank you so much
I’m subscribed
Hey Paul nice explore of these 2 60's homes that bird was a noisy minor im glad you rescued him I would of done the same and he didn't even say thankyou rude bird. Ohh Micheal you scared the living crapers out of Paul Lol. The second home looks like you could still live in it what a waste and it looks like the owners cleaned the house when they left it im thinking maybe a rental property and then some developers bought it and now doomed for redevelopment. Two cool homes mate cheers.
Thanks, Paul. I had the feeling house one was an original high quality build ... terracotta roof tiles, top quality flooring and I'm guessing, solid brick. Second house not so high quality with concrete roof tiles, pine wood flooring, and I think timber framed. Your thoughts? Cheers, Ken
You. Have lots news said lots homes go for road in Adelaide Paul
Witam Serdecznie i Dziękuję za eksploracje.Pozdrawiam Serdecznie i Życzę Miłego Tygodnia Oraz Zdrowych Wesołych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia i Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku 2023 🎆🎆🎆🍾🥂🎄🎄♥️♥️♥️💐💐💐
How could they knock down those beautiful home's
You can tell those 2 houses are in the Western suburbs ... the brick and the stone were built that way
Always glad to see these old homes. I wished I could find 1 and redo it.
Really nice homes. The second one i could live there, looked still in fairly good condition.
thanks for sharing your finds.
awsome 60s homes paul they were pretty big houses when they were built shame you never got to see the floors before salvaging nice of you set that poor bird free from that neted tree look forward to your next explore paul cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it Peter, cheers for watching :-)
I left the following comment on the wrong video, sorry!! :-)
Hi there, I've recently discovered your channel and love your videos. Some of the houses are so beautiful and it's heartbreaking to know all that amazing Adelaide history is being demolished, especially considering some of the rubbish that takes its place.
In case you're interested, I passed a place on Augusta St Maylands last night that looks like it's up for demolition - it had the fencing up. From the brief glimpse I got as I drove past it looked like a stunner. It's on the corner of Dover St, or possibly Clifton.
Sad to see these well built homes being demolished to make way for rendered plywood homes. I wonder if the new homes will last 60 years? I give them 30 at most.
Morning I think what ever the dickvelopers knock down is the style they have to rebuild in just a thought maybe then they would go to vacant land
Great video yet again
Shame the floors had already been ripped from the first home. The second was clean and spiffy just waiting for a new owner to move in. Both were nice solid homes that would have lasted many more years.
👍👍🐦😘😘🏡👏👏
I ve got similar floorboards and have been told it's either NZ Rimu or red Oak.
Ok, that front door really got to me, Loved it
Free Bird
Them birds are a pest! Noisy minor. Supposing they are meant to be protected and native? I remember never seeing them anywhere in the 90s now EVERYWHERE!! Plus they eat the eggs of magpies nests and galahs eggs and bugs. I never c a caterpillar anymore ever. They are only good for farmers with crop's.they are killing of everything so I would have left it in there. Great vid again as usual 👍😃
Another shame. What was wrong with the houses?
The second house let personality except for the bathroom i like the bathroom
I am wondering if you are never afraid of snakes or spiders in these old homes knowing how venomous snakes and spiders are in Australia?
there are more creepy crawlies in oz than in anywhere else,,,,, we have a few her in Arizona soutern desert Ed
@@edwinthompson6510 The point is not the number of creepy crawlies as you put it (we have plenty here in the Pacific Northwest too). The point, which you may not know, is that Oz has the most venomous snakes and spiders in the world and they can hang out in urban environments. This is because they were cut off from the rest of Gondwana so early on that a lot of the old defensive adaptations were retained. I would think twice before sticking my bare hands into stuff as this guy does, especially an abandoned place.
@@susanharris5926 i do know Australian history,,,,
so much so in fact a ancestor of mine was deported to Australia when it was a British penal colony,,,,
as snake and spiders go
i have a ranch on the edge of the Southern Arizona desert
plenty of diamondback rattlesnakes been bitten twice
local Apache remedies saw me through,,,,yeah Susan you have a happy Christmas Ed
It's safe in the cities..
@@psychedelicprawncrumpets9479 No to many 2 legged snakes around inner cities
Oh you should have gotten that brush off the vanity in the first bedroom, and the little pick-up trucks in the first home. There was a red one and a blue one and I think green. I am not sure, but the old matchbox and metal cars are collectibles. And btw, you stepping up into rooms and over walls begs the question how tall are you? At 5’4 I would not be able to do any of that!
Hi Cali 😊 yes those little toys were cool. I'm 6 ft 4 so a foot taller than you haha. Easier for me for sure! 👍😁
@@urbexindigo5164 I’m Pam, I had to change my name on UA-cam. Long story. But I’m the one who suggested the wheelbarrow for eating spider webs. Lol. And yep, 6’4 explains it. 👌🏼
I wonder if there any groups that can save some of the plants.
🤠👍👍
🇺🇸
The bird you saved was a butcher bird.
Two very serviceable homes when they were sold. Why knock these classic comfortable homely homes down with plenty of room to move. They will be replaced with a new home complex with homes that are cheaply knocked together at a very low quality with cheap & crappy chinese materials. All this for pure GREED. It won't do anything for the neighbourhood but turn it into a slum in 20 years if they keep knocking down these houses.
I noticed the last video of yours I watched they took all the floors does it become floors again in new house?
Hi Jerrold, yes it does :-) Cheers for watchin
USA here. Just wondering why door knobs or handles are placed so high up on doors in Australia. Anyone who can tell me?
A much asked question that needs a entire video to explain! :-) Coming soon
El baño donde ta la bañera rosa ta intacto
Which State are you in? Is it illegal to look in vacant homes? I would love to do what you do. Thanks 😊
@sugroenveld5363 Adelaide 🙂 Of course it`s not.......haha 🙂Cheers for watching
