do not run in front alone. And it is a recording. one of many games he plays if he is very unlucky. Everyone gets teams that do not do anything. I now was left alone countless times when my team exploded.
I've experienced more stomps after PSR reset and it looks like you always should maximize your group tonnage, otherwise your team shall be missing your lances' free tonnage. That's my current guess
And if you still aren't convinced of the qualities of a CTF-4X: Just strap a plowshare under each arm and get into the farming business! No contest! The arms are so far apart you can plow two fields simultaneously! XDD
I thought the Blackjack in the first game looked familiar; it was me! I can actually remember the two games (I was the arctic wolf you trashed in the 2nd game), it was a while ago when I tried to farm damage for the previous event. So I guess that there is a delay in between shooting and releasing videos?
I stopped playing shortly after the last patch. As a fairly new player I wasn't prepared to sit there for 2 or 3 weeks getting roflstomped as the tiers sorted themselves out. As for weight balance ... too many horror stories recently.
I think this was before the PSR reset. I believe Baradul was still at tier 2 when this came out, but his screen still says tier 1. It is a shame that they decided to destroy this game. You can't convince me they didn't do it on purpose...
Im new as well, i was tier 4 before the update and was winning most of my games while getting fun but now this game is a total mess, it will be like before again or i just give up on this game???
Stick with it. the joy of the game is the fun you can have with all the different builds you can make. Do wacky stuff even if it doesn't work, troll builds, whatever. PSR is garbage anyway. you will eventually get to 1 just by playing but not necessarily being good. I was there, and I am not a great player.
@@Nomad.552 Don't give up. Support the game, keep playing, but prioritize fun. Try to not be hell-bent on winning, test new stuff, loadouts, tactics. At the same time, maybe just go with the meta for a while. If possible get a friend to play and have a good time on voice. Switch to another game when you start to tilt. Something along those lines 😉
I had a couple of matches like that second game recently. I like playing MWO, but the weight imbalance is really obnoxious. I think I'll focus on playing heavy and assault mechs for the foreseeable future.
The enemy team actually had two assault mechs in that second drop (the Fafnir and the MAD-4A). You are right though, weight balancing in the game has been absolutely atrocious this past week following the PSR reset. It's been horrendous for team morale, and I've sat in a few drops where there's been legitimate debate regarding just surrendering the match because we're tired of getting stomped. All that said, that's a very impressive build. Excellent performance as usual. This'll probably yet another build of yours that I may end up using if I ever get myself some Cataphracts.
The lopsided tonnage balance is not 'cause of the PSR reset but 'cause of merging groups with solos and PGI, in their infinite wisdom, treating solos as a group-of-one and max tomnage of 100. BTW, if you're interested in Cataphracts, there's one with JJs. You can easily do 2 HPPC + 1AC10 OR 2 Snubs + AC20 and just bounce around.
I haven't used this build since the quirkening and 3060-tech. Without the extra armor survivability was definitely low and I've always had trouble hearing the heat alarm in time, meanwhile it takes FOREVER to cool off when you're being pushed.
Correct. It also means the heat is trapped and shooting energy weapons can be dangerous. That's part of why the Ghillie hero mech comes with a Gauss rifle. When the Ghillie was kinda new, I had a match where 2 of them found a good hiding place and were invisible to every kind of vision. ua-cam.com/video/xvlGnMnLomU/v-deo.html
I used this exact build a while back. I just couldn't do anything with it. The guns were too low and I always ended up shooting more terrain than enemys. In the end I sold the chassis and got me a Thanatos which is atrocious in it's own ways but at least I can hit the enemy once in a while :D
@@karaokeking711 Of course. It probably just wasn't the right mech for me. For example I'm fairly competent in a Fafnir but absolutly helpless in an Atlas.
@@karaokeking711 Haha yeah, thank you. I know my way around the game :D Just sometimes you're exicted about getting a new Mech and then it turns out to be less great than it seemed in the Mechlab :D These things happen.
Hell, I haven't only run this exact build, I have run this build with this paint job! With my run though I always took seismic sensor. I found this build rocked in Solaris where you could focus on ONE mech, put out the hurt faster than it could, absorb enough to stay in the fight, and finish him before he either took you out or you ran out of ammo. Seismic is great but even better in Solaris where it can turn into a game of cat and mouse. In a general drop it is much tougher with this build. The ammo limitations really hurt it in a group drop and you need to be conservative in your application of dakka. Finally you absolutely must consider the weapon location because it is very easy to punch holes into the ground if you are not properly lined up. Of course it also has incredible armor perks!
Match maker has been really messing up yesterday had a game with 8 assaults on one team the other team was medium and lights only needless to say it was a 12-0 stomp like most games have been lately
cataphract is a mech I could never get the hang of. Always seem to get shredded so hard and can never get the work well. They used to be such good mechs, feared to me but not anymore.. plus you just never see them.
Don't hate on the matchmaker. It's a result of a long lasting problem. BT always had balancing issues (talking about tabletop right now). CV, BV, BV v2.0... And MWO has had a huge identity crisis since release! The devs didn't really know where to take it, and the players.. well the players.. let's just say loud isn't the same as right.. and playing a lot or having good stats doesn't make you smart, either. Obviously. To this day I don't understand the thought process of PGI's balancing approach. The same goes for the 'logic' of some players. When a new player (cough cough.. yeah they used to exist) starts to complain that light mechs shouldn't be that strong and shouldn't be able to destroy their heavy/assault mech, the reply almost always boils down to "lol, ged gud!" or "heavier does not mean better". Well ok, but then you just can't balance by weight. Period And don't start to create cases taking into account the map, player skill or number of assaults.. while it might be true, no MM will be able to get THAT right. You have to have a common and basic baseline. A concept. And I just can't and never could see that.
This is a extremely unimportant point but I have to say it. When you say video game it's wrong. Even though this is a computer game when people use video game thats like the old arcade games or the cons8le games. What people say now for games like MWO is simply the game, 'we are winning this GAME ' , ' the GAME is unbalanced ', ' that was your GAME for today. But like I said, not important at all :D
That is likely true but it is worth noting that before the PSR reset we were getting better quality matches than we are now. Sure the stomp ratio was around 30% which isn't great but I was not experiencing tonnage imbalances anywhere near what we are getting now, and that's including the group matchmaking combination with the solo que. Imo the new PSR has broken something with how the matchmaker assigns team tonnage.
Well.. not sure if that argument really flies. As long as the match hasn't started, the matchmaker could still swap mechs around, right? So instead of starting with 7-1 it could just as well be 4-4 The question at hand is: HOW do you balance? By mech tonnage? By player skill? Both? I see a lot of fault on the (vocal) players' side, too. Those, who want to be able to take on an Atlas with a Locust. Can't possibly balance around tonnage then..
That Commando kill in the second match, curving it around that Charger, was Epic!
I'll never understand how baradul gets in situations where he's dealing constant damage to the enemy team and yet being mostly ignored!
do not run in front alone. And it is a recording. one of many games he plays if he is very unlucky. Everyone gets teams that do not do anything. I now was left alone countless times when my team exploded.
Positioning and timing is key in MWO I think Baradul has it down to a point.
That was great of you in that second vid:
"This curb-stomp is because they were BADLY out-tonned."
Ty for the time stamps bara appreciate it :)

Great Video! Thank You!
I love the Catty. My 4X runs 2x RAC5 & 2x AC-2s. Huge DPS, but fairly hot.
I've always thought of Cataphracts as Heavy mechs that some genius mechtech convinced it was an Assault.
Cataphract CT you can put like 104 armor at front
I love that paint pattern!
so stealth armor makes them look not hot as well?
Correct. It also means the heat is trapped and shooting energy weapons can be dangerous. That's part of why the Ghillie hero mech comes with a Gauss rifle.

I like to play the 4X with two UAC-10s and 2 Mlas with full armor. It’s not game breaking, but it’s fun
"I wanna lead the push!" -> AC5 build xD
Try
Lbx10, ac10, 2 mg, srm4, 2 medlaser. Xl or light 255
Should've used AC2s, Bara. Two less tons per gun.
Dakkaphract?
Why PPC sound is like a MC2?
If I see that our team lance is lights/mediums I just assume we're in for a rough match in terms of tonnage
Wish left and right arm had same way how weapens are mount it.

Yeah quad ac5 works way better on the black widow because of higher mounts and better convergence.

Match maker is deffinitely messed up the last while.
War crimes!!
Ammo is totally overrated. Yesterday i encountered as the ONLY Assault on my Team 3 biggies. Wasn't fun.
The problem of the PSR reset is that it sets all players to Tier 3 rather than Tier 5.
