As A person who uses a motorized wheelchair, I thank and bless this man for saving John. So many were left behind and like the other victims, how terrifying it must have been to just sit there, helpless, to await their fate. 😭🇨🇦
Thank you for telling your story Peter, it's now 22 years later. I hope you are doing well. You (as well as your coworkers) are a hero for your selfless act of making sure John was able to go with you.
What you did for John you deserve respect and honor. Just think how he felt wondering if he could be abandoned at any moment with people trying to save themselves. The fact you didn't leave him with the police command post saved his life. It would have been the logical thing to do. You are a true hero.
Thank you Peter for your unbelievable story.. I recently became a volunteer at the 9/11 memorial and feel very honored working there…. I’m a native New Yorker and was about 1 mile from the attacks that day.
Amazing survivor story. Over 20 years later and it is still horrific and heart breaking event. You and your friends were truly amazing to think and act so quickly regarding your disabled co-worker. That was very very humane and right thing to do. This act gave such feel good vibes even in all this horror. Thank you for sharing...:-)
I was in eighth grade at the time fixing to go to school when the first plane hit to a middle school in Tulsa Oklahoma on that day my step dad was going to drop me off at school now23yrs later I'm living in noble Oklahoma and still remember when where and what I was doing that day I'll never forget.
the staircases to the upper floors wegen not just blocked. they were gon, blown out the buildung upon impact. People still alive that went into a staircase just saw a black hole with flames below.. the building was missing over several floors... not considering below fire etc, it was physically impossible to get down, except for jumping
Out of interest, did the two wtc towers ever hold fire drills where the whole building had to evacuate down the stairs? The highest I’ve ever worked in London was something like the 5th floor, so when we had fire drills it took no time at all to evacuate, it must have been terrifying for everyone trying to get out of those two buildings.
Yes they actually did. If you look up stories from other survivors, there were fire marshals for their respective companies. So each company (maybe not every company that occupied floors in the towers) had their own drills. One in particular is a guy named Brian Clark, he was his company’s fire marshal and you can hear his story if you search on here.
Look up the documentary about Rick Rescorla. I think there are at least 2. Former military who worked Security for Morgan Stanley. He is credited with Saving 2700 of his co-workers. After the bombing he predicted that terrorists would come again. But from above. He insisted on fire plans and fire drills. He himself died that day.
the fact that you didn't abandon your friend in a wheelchair may be the reason you made it out alive. reminds me of the story of the friends who brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus. the house where he was was very crowded and the friends made a hole in the roof and lowered their friend's bed close to Jesus. Jesus saw their faith and healed their friend
Correct It went west and then turned south over PA and then back east proceeding just south of Jersey City before turning north, passing the east side of the Statue of Liberty along the way.
@blue9multimediagroup yes, so many witnesses said they seen it come down the Hudson and turn around the statue of liberty. I don't know what they are talking about. 1st off they were watching the towers so if it did even come down the Hudson they weren't watching it. Still till this day I can't undwrstand these accounts besides that eyewitness accounts are just not reliable .
The Port Authority police should of gotten front garage security guards so to prevent the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. As well as 9/11 this could be prevented by planning ahead and using strategy too.
No way 9 11 could be avoided . They hijacked those planes and were on a mission to kill and destroy. How on earth can you suggest that it could have been avoided? Your ignorance is unbelievable !! An insult to all involved in that attack
I'm so curious about your age ? Your education? Are you American? Wtf ? Strategies? I'm at a loss for words . Wondering what on earth you can be referring to.
Well thank you for speaking it's interesting that they were having a ton of remodeling just before this happened almost like presetting it so that one set playing hit the towers and then set everything else off to set it up like a Roman candle
There are a lot of fact errors in regards to events and times in this discussion and if this is to serve as a documentary, then the information needs to be correct and not so full of errors.
No, it doesn’t. It’s someone’s recollection of their experience. There’s enough evidence documented around timelines and specifics that a reasonable person can find the information.
@@blankererer6944 yeah it does. This is a documentary series and if we're gonna allow errors in the story telling, why even bother? This is how future generations get info misconstrued. But continue to allow ignorance to spread....
I wish interviews can to a test of their internet first before conducting these types of interviews. or even have him meet you somewhere and you record. I dont like watching this lag so much...

Wow amazing that he went back to get his paralyzed friend. What a thoughtful friend.
It is love .
What else was there to do?
This man is a hero too. Didn't even think twice to help someone else with his own peril at risk.

The most knowledgeable survivor I’ve heard
Thank you for all of your detail.
Your story is told very well. Glad you made it out. ✌
If it wasn't for Betty Ong who let the ATC know they were hijacked it could have a lot worse. But anyway your story was incredible
How, they had no control over this

I always learn something new each time I hear someone's story. I didn't realize they had special evacue chairs.

If so, why many others, civilians and firfighthers who were helping others were killed? It's very strange
@@PerseidaModethey don’t have answers for that. They’ll just say “gods plan”

The third plane that hit the Pentagon did Not come from Newark Airport it came few out of Dulles International Airport.
Flight 175 didn't come from the hudson and turn around the statue of liberty.
And it didn’t hit at 9:17, it hit at 9:03.

“should *have*/should’ve* gotten…” should of/would of/could of/must of= do not make sense and never occur in the English language ✌️🙂❤️
Didn't matter as if your credentials looked legit, you could still gain access.
And this has nothing to do with 9/11
But it wasn’t prevented. Easier said than done looking back at it.

Why is this guy giving information about all the planes? As if the viewers don’t already know,
Because the students who will heard that story were not born yet in 2001.
