Desiree visibly teared up several times, especially when talking about Jim not making it out of the building. I can see her trying her best to hold it together for the students. Bless her!
@davidmudry5622that building was on fire all day, it was going fall down no matter what anyone did. It’s a cowardly act to post links to conspiracy videos like you did. It’s also an insult to all those who lost their lives in the planes, in the buildings, on the ground and from health issues since. Put the bong or glass pipe away and steel help.
Every single one of you is SO BRAVE. Not just for your choices on that day. But for being willing to share possibly one of, if not the, most traumatic experiences a person could ever go through. God bless each and every one of you. And thank you for sharing your perspective on one of the most critical moments in all of American history. We will NEVER FOGET. And we will ALWAYS BE *LISTENING.* So please continue to share when you are able. It's good for you, and it's good for all of us.
What a great account of this tragedy. very cerebral and factual . Best I have seen. Thank you. Much love to you brave lady. Love from scotland. I hope you are well X
All buildings taller than 40 stories should be required to have parachutes in them and be replaced every 6months to make sure they are good to go. Obviously it's dangerous to try to jump from that height but anything would be betterthan watching people fall to their death. Imagine hoow beautiful it would have been to see those people falling to safety with parachutes instead of what happened
A friend of mine worked in the trade centre in the 90’s. He remembered someone coming to the office and trying to sell them individual parachutes. Apparently he was laughed out of the office.
@@linrogers4326 I've often thought if there was something designed to help us get out even rope that worked like ladders to climb down, I don't know all I know something should of been in place . Thinking Of you all Love Australia.x
Even better there should be a 100 foot high soft sponge blown out around the perimeter of the building (like a bouncy castle) that opens up in seconds….900/1000 foot long and 100 foot tall. Parachutes wouldn’t work you have to be at least sky level, thats why there designed for planes not for buildings, there’s a possibility they wouldn’t open up in time or they just wouldn’t open up because of the surrounding buildings stopping it for opening up, too risky.
That was over two decades ago and it is still so so scary, horrific and heart breaking! I am in awe of these people who managed to escaped. It took so much courage! And I still weep for all the people who lost their lives in those towers, the workers and rescuers. Thank you for your stories. They must be told and shared, least we forget. So glad this Museum was created. I will be re watching it.
From what I understand the port authority didn't have to comply with the local building code so instead of 6 they only had 3 that weren't even that wide to begin with. I am wondering if the new building has 6 and if they are wider.
I understand what first lady means by a "small boom." I was in BMCC that morning, 5 blocks north on Chambers st. The first plane crashing we heard but didn't know what it was, we all assumed it was a really bad accident on the west side highway. The second plane hitting sounded like a small boom, a mini version of the first crash we thought was a car crash. Some of us giggled cause it sounded comically small compared to the first. So when I finally thought about it later on I figured the sound was masked by the fact that the south tower had been hit on the south face while the north tower was hit on the north face, so that one, since we were north of the towers, was way louder to us. She has confirmed this for me since she had the same thing happen to her cause for her it was reversed. She heard a small boom from the North tower because the buildings masked the volume.
@@BillyBong still, that's so close. I mean, I watched it on the TV from Las Vegas and I still feel traumatized when I look back of footage from that day. Still, I'm m glad you have been able to get through it. 💗

I was in tg6e 3rd floor & 5th floor of the sa.the building for 16 years. I thought about the WTC every day. I was the Floor Warden & was responsible for the 3rdfloor. I'd be the last one out. Take safety drills SERIOUSLY
I have never heard anyone else say (8:37) that building security wouldn't let anyone in after 8.45 as most started at 9. Is this true? If so, what would be the point ? How could people conduct business properly if security clock-watched like that? Also, why hasn't anyone else mentioned it if it saved them?
My interpretation of her comment is that on that particular day when the plane hit the first building, that’s when security stopped letting people through. I don’t think she meant that security closed every day at 0845.
The lady from the south tower basically said “If you liked to slide into your seat at the last minute, you probably didn’t get into the building, and thus lived”. Nice dig on lazy people who lived.
For the first lady survivor, was she reading from a template or a slide? I listened to her story with the lady, Judith, and the ordering of her words in both stories are almost verbatim. Listen to both stories! She must have been looking at something while telling her story.
She must have told her story more than a thousand times. She probably always tell it the same way. She knows it by heart. Plus, she sounds like she wants to be detached from the horror she witnessed.

As scary as these stories are, they never get old. Desiree's casual escape was harrowing to listen to. I'm glad she's here to tell her story. 🙏💗🙏💗

My stomach is in a knot after hearing how close was Desirees escape. Thank you for coming on and telling us; it can't have been easy.
Not close at all. She was out before the plane hit her building! There are plenty of much more harrowing tales. Ron di Francesco for example.
@@fluffyfourit was such a near escape she was just on the 78th floor where the second plane hit minutes before she was out of the building.

You would need a 100 story building for the chute to open correctly, 50 floors not so much....
