Specifically from that RCB role when we build-up with 3 at the back, Pavard could be excellent for us. For the record, he also played more minutes than any other Bayern defender last season.

I think one of the reasons we play with 2 free 8's is due to getting an extra man in midfield which is sometimes an inverted fullback or more interestingly, sometimes is due to Onana. He moves into the back 3 alongside a CB and FB, allowing the other CB to move higher up the pitch to give us a free man in midfield, mainly one of the 8's. I've seen Varane do it with Kovar in net against Lyon, Lindelof against Dortmund in the 15 minute window with Onana in net, and Martinez against Real Madrid.

The way Ederson was up in the defensive line on Friday against Burnley I could see Onana replicating, the issue is the way teams set up against City is very different currently to United because United don’t dominate games with either the ball or being 4- nil up after twenty minutes.

Dalot is better in possession than AWB so naturally I believe he is first choice. AWB provides a very different tactical option but given his development since the World Cup there's no reason he can't establish himself as first choice. That being said Pavard would replace them both.

Even with the new key position signings still feel Utd are a bit short of complete quality (team) and a bit thin (squad)? But just look at how potent Newcastle look, Chelsea have shifted a billion thanks to Saud and Liverpool have done targeted signigns (just need Lavia now). City/Arsenal same as before.
As an Arsenal fan after watching Utd against us in preseason I think it’s clear United and Arsenal will be the closest challengers to City. Newcastle are great at home but they’re one dimensional and still don’t have good enough technical players. Liverpools defence is awful and Chelsea are in the beginning stages of their rebuild

Dalot likes to invert a lot in possession with the winger staying wide, Wan-Bissaka prefers to stay wide and the winger invert.

The logical conclusion is united are extremely far away from the top teams and will be extremely lucky to get top 4. Let's face it, they were lucky to get 3rd last season, a lot of tight games that could've gone either way. Let's hope that luck lasts
How were they lucky? they had the worse start of the season reduced the gap between them and arsenal from like 15pts or more to 9pts arsenal who everyone thought were running away with the title, even with injuries to key players in Martinez, competed in every competition won Efl, reached FA Cup final, reach europa league QF and were in the title race a bit despite thrashing to Liverpool and City.
