I think sometimes you need to take a step back. IMO Ten Hag is slowly but surely upgrading the team but due to the sins of previous regimes he's limited in terms of what he can do. United have also been very unlucky in terms of both senior left-backs picking up long-term injuries at the same time. From a pure footballing perspective losing Greenwood is massive too. All things essentially outside of the club's control. In terms of this summer's signings. A lot of people are down on Mount but I think he'll prove his worth, Onana already looks like a massive upgrade, Hojlund is a gamble but if he comes off will be huge for us and we now have some excellent midfield cover in Amrabat. Plus Hannibal, Amad, Mainoo to come into the squad in the coming weeks. Centre back is an issue. Varane has been a crock the entire time he's been here and that's probably one of the motivations for Maguire sticking around. Both need to be moved on next summer. This has also been the best summer for sales in years. Elanga, Fred, Henderson, Telles, Kovar all moved on along with various youth teamers that ETH decided aren't up to it (much better than just keeping these guys hanging around for years). De Gea off the wage bill too. tl;dr version I think United are stronger than last season and are moving in the right direction. This season will be tough given how much the other teams have strengthend but I think we're moving in the right direction. Just need to get the takeover done now.....
Thanks for stating things as they are. Is it a perfect window and a perfect situation the club is in? Well ofc no, but there has been a lot of turmoil with the takover, the greenwood situation, and now a sudden injury crisis. All things considered, the team looks a lot better than it did last year and while maguire and mctominay should have been shipped off, we still had the most outgoings in a while amd move in the right direction. ETH inherited a squad thats an incoherent mess of half a dozen former managers that all failed, all with different styles. By that time players like hojlund antony maybe even malacia, amad and mainoo will have matured more and players like mount and onana will also have properly settled in. We are moving in the right direction and have performed far better than liverpool did when klopp took over and arsenal when arteta took over.
You have such low standards. We are going to finish lower in the league this season, and we're going to go without a trophy. I can guarantee we won't get top 4.
@@James-st9uu then you haven’t watched Amrabat he got the better of rice last season and he is good enough right? He will be a very good singing for that price
to be fair, i think Ten hag specifically requested for mount and he probably wanted him as early as possible so the club did what they had to do to get that done. but that is also one of the problems, we don't have a good director of football that can offer suitable and cheaper alternatives to the manager. i was positive before the season started but now my anxiety is back.

Amrabat is thankfully joining on loan, but it has been a poor window. We needed the additional cover at CB to push Maguire out, but unfortunately without the c. £90m from the owners, that's just not possible without selling first.
I don't think we really have a choice though, Shaw and Malacia are fairly injury prone and Ten Hag clearly wants multiple players for each position for training and rotation purposes, and he probably thinks that with Shaw and Malacia both constantly rotating in and out with injuries, it's more like having 1 fit player between the two of them rather than one player and one backup. Righteous anger from Statman Dave here. Calling out what a mess our team building/recruitment has been. Not only this summer but for the last 10 years.
Finally , his eyes now are opened. It's about time. Now if we can get the other channels to see that Manchester United are not a serious football team. Not serious about winning, not serious about winning Major Silverware and not serious about retaining the glories of the past. Wonder if Unied would have been happy spending the 170-180 mil on Kane and Hojlund. 100 for Kane, 70 for Hojlund or are they happier with what they got? Mount, Onana and Hojlund? Thank you my friend for finally acknowledging the obvious. This club is average at best......so get use to it. Or start watching teams like.........Brighton, Ansu Fati's new team. Look at it this way, fans pay their money for quality product. They are not getting their money's worth. Sir Bobby Charlton recalled in his 2007 autobiography 'My Manchester United Years' that Sir Matt Busby preached it was a footballer's 'duty' to entertain, 'to provide a little spark, a little colour, for the men and women who come to Old Trafford at the end of a working week.' I would as United world..........are you getting your money's worth and are you entertained?

You would be more credible in your analysis if you brought this same energy about Harry Maguire. All this tells me is that you personally don't like Reguilon. How about we actually see him play. We need another LB because Luke Shaw is likely going to be played as LCB next to Lindelof. Maguire will only get into this team if 2 CBs are injured. Stop your whinging.
Realistically Ten Hags signings have been spot on so far.. I know Anthony gets some stick but he had a solid if unspectacular season last year. Reguilon will most likely come and go but the other lads should do a good job for the team
since 2012 ma team has given me cancer n heart attack for 11years. I can wait for whole rest of my life. What I want to see is not winning ManU but ManU who has gutts even we loose we fight n loose that is ManU
How have they not contacted you is my first thought considering you were there a while back and knew the ins and outs of tactical know how during games. We're a mess and we always will be, would take us years to even get something good sorted for our academy or progression.
A CB to replace Maguire was necessary. Varane has a horrible injury record so we needed to sign Todibo for example. I agree with the rest of what was said. I don't know why we've signed Reguilon unless Ten Hag believes Shaw may not play much this season at all. Anyway, hopefully the club is sold so we can leave this "rooting around the back of the couch for cash" approach to transfers. There was no sense in the Mount deal. Overpaid, too early in the window, arguably not what we needed and was prioritised over a CB.
Instead of waiting for them to call you why not put together one of these videos and send it them may be you will genuinely say something they haven't heard before and thought of which is unlikely but you never know
I have a feeling he will work hard under us, probably won’t be greatest left back in the prem but I feel he will be solid. I see your case but just got to be patient and wait m. That Fernandez is very good im confused why we didn’t rely on him but obviously ten hag and the coaches see definitely
The whole club from the top to the bottom needs an overhaul if we are to become an actual footballing club again. Liverpool, e.g., reset their entire midfield in one summer. Yet here we are still persisting with players from as far back as the Van Gaal era (Fergie era if we now include Evans). We also love inflating the value of slightly above average players like Shaw, Bruno, and Anthony and don't move on players past their prime like Varane. Until we are having an honest conversation about ALL players instead of just picking on the select few, we're going to remain in this cycle. We have so many players who are not good enough to take that next step, yet we're too blinded because of how systematically the bar has been lowered over the last decade.
Got to agree with everything you've said Dave. We didnt need another left back as we had Dalot and Alvaro Fernandez. Our scattergun recruitment policy just makes no sense. We need new owners who will get rid of the incompetent deadwood (Arnold, Murtaugh etc) and bring in a director of football and backroom staff who are competent and pulling in the same direction. We used to be a well run football club. Now we are so badly run from top to bottom that we're a laughing stock. All of Ferguson, David Gill, and Martin Edwards' hard work has been undone over the last ten years, thanks to owners who dont care how well run we are, just so long as they can put their hands in the till every year and help themselves to a bit of pocket money.
Actually been a good week. It was unfortunate we couldn't get Cucurella but Regulion was the LB everybody wanted before over Telles. Plus we know what this is. We need a LB who can do decent until Shaw is fit again. Which he will do. Now am I confident in him... 50/50 he was always a hassle for us to deal with and was obviously the better choice over Telles but we couldn't get Cucurella. So he will do exactly what we need him to do. Also getting Amrabat makes this week great. Finally a true CDM who can play multiple roles. Regulion isn't bad but not good. He'll work for now.
I doubt Bayern would have sold Davies for any money in the world. Or only for a fee that would be extremly unreasonable, so I guess could have been a fit for ManU. Not to mention that he has been quiet injury prone himself the last few years
Brilliant video - would rather watch something that is honest and realistic like this rather than videos spouting how good a player will be and how they will improve the team. Agree 100% about the youth and giving players like Mejbri and Fernandez a chance. Whilst Arambat is needed where does that leave Kobie Mainoo - hope that he isn't pushed out more now,. We've wasted so much on players that don't become first teamers such as sancho and mount . However do still believe in Ten Hag, and hope is given time, but still dont trust the structures above him.
He’s not wrong. Thankfully ETH is doing well but if there’s 1 thing Im seeing is that Bruno & Casemiro are our only consistent players. I’d put Eriksen at 3rd, but we really do need to improve😂

Righteous anger from Statman Dave here. Calling out what a mess our team building/recruitment has been. Not only this summer but for the last 10 years.
Big Dave, put some product in your hair and stay clear of that barcode haircut brother, you're better than that!
ETH literally took a shit on our academy players....look ar the number of players that left for derisory transfer fees...
The problem with United is that they are still stuck in 2009 with regards to squad building, player development, and academy activities.
Balogun 40mill from Arsenal academy too
Finally , his eyes now are opened.
Reguilon is a barely warm body. United's window is a failure. Statman Dave is spot on. Roy Keane called us "the new Spurs" after Spurs demolished us. He's not wrong.
Idgaf about that lb its arambat time but i agree with us loaing out alvaro fernadez bc we have 3 lbs when malacia ajd swha get back and dalot can play their soo i dont see game tome for fernadez
Lol that’s what this club does, dragged the Amarbat deal out till the last day of the window so fans like you get excited even though this window has been an absolute farce.
@@ryanblain358 yh but i cant be angry and negative all the time like u lee like fans i cant stand u we could sign mbappe and u will still find negatives i know the gakzer are shit anf out window wasnt good but just bc of that doesnt mean i wouldnt be excited about i player i really like

Fernandez might even be better that this Reguilon trash

I don't think any other fan base can over exaggerate like united fans, united fans are also expert of following what every other person says
Wat worried us here was DALOT .
HE GONNA B LIKE MAGUIRE
Well said, Dave.
Not as bad of a decision as the mullet Dave
Dave Goldbrigde😂😂
Realistically Ten Hags signings have been spot on so far.. I know Anthony gets some stick but he had a solid if unspectacular season last year. Reguilon will most likely come and go but the other lads should do a good job for the team
My thoughts exactly on this window and recent ones. Murtough keeps releasing press leases after signings, like are you serious mate 😂
We went for him because how cheap the deal was and only until January, a big club could have gone for Cucurrela for the last minute loan.
Yeah have to agree, but think was because worse case scenario if any other injuries on the backline, although fernandez but put out on loan again 🤷🏻
since 2012 ma team has given me cancer n heart attack for 11years.
I can wait for whole rest of my life. What I want to see is not winning ManU but ManU who has gutts even we loose we fight n loose that is ManU
Couldn’t agree more…this transfer window has been shocking…the whole infrastructure needs to be replaced and start from scratch again
Wait till he finds out we signed Evans for a Year 😂😂😂👍🏽
Dave bitching about the academy that Ten Hag is trying to revitalize
Once again, we need a better recruitment team and DoF, in addition to new owners. That's it.
At least we only have to keep him until January i would have rather had Cucurella
I did enjoy this rant, so I did smash the like button. Shame I couldn't smash it more
Loved statman rant🎉
One of your best videos 😂
Dalot is dog shite at left back and Fernandez isn't ready to be thrown in at the deep end.
Good analysis scoutsman Dave.... Please scout 18 year old Relebohile Ratomo Mofokeng of Orlando Pirates (South Africa).
Dalot was okay at LB last week. Hopefully he doesn’t lay an egg against Saka though.
Pain😭😭😭😭😭😭
Disagree with the Taremi and Hojlund point.. its great we got Hojlund honestly. Younger player fixes our issues with age
I doubt Bayern would have sold Davies for any money in the world. Or only for a fee that would be extremly unreasonable, so I guess could have been a fit for ManU. Not to mention that he has been quiet injury prone himself the last few years
We've been poorly run for a long time and this rant was long overdue. Appreciate you highlighting the truly shit job we've done managing this club.
I really want Scott Mctominay to play in CB. Huge upgrade on Harry Maguire
Onana had agreed to join Inter before ETH joined United.
statman with the trim
100% with you Dave, it's not good enough
We passed on Reguilon when Ole was in charge and I dont rate him at all. Having him even for three months is a real liability defensively
I wouldn't even consider him for one match
Yeah united are finished now, fight for top 7 it is.
@@directorme6669yet you would consider your golden tubby belly Luke Shaw who has been garbage for years
absolutely right
