- The new Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries DLC "The Dragon's Gambit" has arrived. Let's take a look at all the gameplay aspects, story, new Mechs and weapon systems together. In this playthrough we will start a new career as a Mechwarrior thrown int o a conflict against our will.

The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

If you like throwing heat around, the Clan Plasma Cannon is the way to go.
2 of them can push an overheating mech to go supernova. Skip shutdown, proceed directly to core breach.

Guess they got good at it after actual centuries of apocalyptic warfare where resources were constantly diminishing. Gotta get the existing machines working again because you sure as hell ain't getting any replacements.
Hellbringer DPS went from 19.5 to 34.46. I think you're gonna enjoy that monster even more now!

Once again the Locust Pirate's Bane shows how good it is in the recon mission. I agree that the flamers on the Crusader are maybe a little too much but it does turn you into "Baradul the Burninator!"
from what I'm seeing online, the "Scrap" guns use scrap piles and FPS as ammo

Unlocking the Black Markets would be a good upgrade to save for, so you can buy high tier weapons and ammo
The shadow hawk having slightly uneven leg armor is eating at me
You should train Butler. Kind of low right now, but max evasion is 9. It's too bad the mech/pilot selection screens don't let you organize them into groups. Mech selection could just show you the mech bay layout

I love flamer builds, 3x H flamer is what I use as close range defence weapons on my stone rhino's, they wreck everything that comes close.
The XL upgrade being a separate component to the engine core itself is such a weird concept. Like imagine being on the battlefield and an enemy shot crits your XL upgrade component. Mech instantly becomes 5 tons heavier and your legs crumple.
Snowshoe and Mist were at the bottom there, you already picked them up. You've got Kelpie to pick up on Addicks and Chainsaw on Solaris which are both sorta nearby.
@baradul I really would love to see you try the JM6-S. I put 4 AC-5 BF’s in it and with all the cooldown reduction it comes with, the dps is through the rough! I can hear you giggling over the dakka. Only hang up is until you get clan endo, and clan XL it’s difficult to fit enough ammo on it to be for more than just short missions. I also know adding FCS for ballistic makes it even more insane among several other things. Check it out, I’m sure you’d love it.
PS. There’s a mod for giving the commander Quirks. It’s a very nice addition.
Your NPC's will never improve their DPS until you do their weapon groups on the mech when in Mechbay
Man you need to set up your lance with those mechcommander voices. Set hunter for one of your good pilots. Love that guy. Plus, the call outs are better. They call when enemy mechs are killed and stuff.
The biggest problem I have with the inferno SRM builds is that it'd usually just work better to have more normal SRMs and kill things with them instead of shutting things down.
Hey Baradul, have you tried the mod “Pay for Salvage”. It can come in handy if you have several c-bills stocked up and you need just one more mech-part to complete a build but you don’t have the salvage points available to get it.
The Pirate's Bane may benefit from some upgraded machine guns or small lasers
I put three lrm 10's on my hero Orion, with 7 tons of ammo and decent cooling I can continuously fire until the problem at hand ceases to be an issue 😂

You should try doing a leopard realism run - only allow yourself as many mechs out of storage as you have mech bays: 4.

I have found manually powering on speeds things up a little at the start of the missions.
I noticed that treasure hunting cantina missions give 4 upgrade points each.

I just got a PC and got mech warrior online and wanted to know if you would be willing to try a build and possibly showcase it in a video. Don’t forget to try ppc and light rifles on the LAM.
The callsign of the mech you're piloting depends on what pilot you have assigned to it in the mechbay before launch.
This is more of a modding question, but how exactly are the quirks for the mechs generated in MW5?
From what I can tell, it's pretty much Russian roulette, and you get what you get when the computer spawns the mech.
Don't have the tools or some of the know how how to do it because I don't know the programming too well yet, but I would love to see a mod where you could transfer the quirk of a mech into another one.
So let's just say you like The quirk, but you don't like the mech, you can take it out of that mech and transplant it into another one. Similar how you can take out bits and bobs out of one mech, and repurpose it in a different one.
If you could swap around the quirks to fit your needs, that would be a very useful mod
Don't have the technical know how to do it yet but I would build something like that if I could. Is anybody know the mechanics of the game and how that applies program-wise?
Just asking because I have not seen any information on that explaining how it works. Just wondering if somebody knows.
The quirks depend on the chassis. All PHX-1P will have the same quirks. A PHX-2 can have others. It also depends on which mods add the mechs, some don't have any quirks (yet).

I installed Baradul's mod pack, anyone know why I see none of the royal gear? such as royal jump jets royal AMS and royal heatsinks? did I need an additional mod his pack doesn't show?

I've looked at the beginning of the raselhauge modded series where u kind of scroll through them quickly but I'm missing a few things I see in your game that I'd enjoy trying out. What features are you missing that you dont know which mod it is? I might be able to help, I use most of the same mods in my current playthrough (on my channel) and have used many others in the past. I am planning on making a video discussing the mods, just havent gotten around to it yet.
I haven't seen any of the resource missions.that Is the main one as those look fun. And when I try to get the pirate tech mods stuff it crashes/ critical error when I try to start game. I've only got his steam mods as my computer literacy limits me to scratch and sniff picture books lol, and I've watched a couple UA-cam videos to see how to load nexus mods to my game but I just haven't tried yet.
@@josephmedlin428 Resource missions are from coyotes missions mod on nexus. The pirate stuff he is using in game comes from the clan invasion mod which works with YAML mods. If you mean Pirate Tech the mod, that mod does not work with the YAML mods.
He has links in the description. 1 to all mods he has on steam and others to those that come from the nexus only.
