Didn't like the use of puppacks at first (traditionalist), but over time, grew to like them as a nice upgrade. My only issue is that there's a lack of consistency whether they work out of the box or not. Some of that has to do with the creators, but other times I think it's the complexity in the puppack system. I have a 2-screen with real DMD set-up and it would be nice to just select that option every time and have the puppack work. Sadly, I've been frustrated with blocked backgrounds, toppers playing on playfields and other oddities that only seem to happen on random tables. Add to that the various music/sound levels recorded in each pack and it takes a bit of tinkering.
But what about the "wheel" ? Is that the Apron setting? My"wheel" is on the top of my playfield and upsidedown. I do t seem to be able to find the setting to adjust it.
So I'm trying to get this to work on the Quest 3. When I load a table, most of the videos are running on my desktop PC monitor, instead of my Quest 3. So how can I drag or move them over?
Not sure why the table wouldn't ask for your initial if you get a score that qualifies . The score is in the Nvram folder. You can also set up orbital score. orbitalscoreboard.com/how-to/
I’m experiencing a weird issue where the puppak works but the video is very slow, like one frame every few seconds. Running a 3080Ti with an i5 12th gen and 32GB of RAM so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue. Have you seen this before? I’m almost at the point of deleting all files and reinstalling from scratch.
I have been working at this for a while now and cannot get a bunch of PUP packs to work. I have them in the PUPvideos folder, have selected the bat files (tried multiple to see if any will work) and cannot g3t them to show up on my 3 screen setup for the Matrix, Ren and Stimpy, Futurama, Demolition Man, Twister, Stargate, etc. Everything works great otherwise in Popper or when running directly in VPX but absolutely no PUP packs ever work, no videos or anything. There's got to me something causing this. They aren't hidden in the back at all, they just don't run even when I try the bat files. Any suggestions?
Can you make a video on how to set this up for one monitor use please. Whenever I try games with a pup pack everything runs but the pup pack plays in another window not next to the table.
The process for pup packs is the same for 1 screen vs. multiple. You need to move and resize the popper windows according to your layout in the screen config portion. I mentioned in the video how to change that for 1-2-3 or 4 screens. Typically pup packs have options to select how many screens you have in the pinup folder called 1 screen .bat or 2 screens.bat
Yes you can. Go through the same installation process and select option A. Single screen. You don't have to use pinup popper. Once the installation is done, just starting VPX will trigger the pup pack
Ok,i am italian e my english is not good,i badly explained my self,i found it difficult in step 3,it doesen't show me the topper.i put black glass in front right and topper e Dmd front left.black glass ok dmd ok topper no.i don.t understand why.thank
Ok next question how to add them on desktop mode when you have only one screen and on that screen you have the backglass on it as well as full dmd and playfield? The only pup pack i can get to work is the new Futurama i have the back glass on the top left corner of my screen and full dmd on top right of my screen and the rest middle of screen the playfield and the pub pack works but the other pub packs struggle to get to work any help for desktop mode?
sure buddy. I access the vpuniverse and i filter for tableds that have pup, but to my surprise most of the times it doesnt have a pup like X-Files @@MajorFrenchy
What about the script changes etc? There's an Australian video that mentions a lot this video does not bring up, is that not needed or is this not a complete guide?
I talk about scripts changes in the video. If you like the Australian video for the scripts, just watch that one. I am kind of tired of people whining to people bringing you free content. And No this is not a full guide if you would have read the description, it's to help people get set up.
@@MajorFrenchy I was just asking, because i was wondering if all i needed was explained here because what there are is better explained in this video, not being critical or whining. But it's not rare that virtual pinball folks are overly sensitive.
Not enough info. Not Even close. I downloaded MORE THAN 1 pup pack that had multiple files and folders. No clue as to where anything goes. Your video was vague and obscure at best.
Easy to blame someone for someone's lack of knowledge. I spent all my free time for the last 10 years helping folks to the best of my knowledge. Your comment are the kind of comments that just want make me quit the scene....
I'm not blaming you for my lack of knowledge. I thought your video was going to explain how to install Pup packs. Instead it did nothing but confuse me more.
Dang!!! I was really into this stuff about three years ago. Now that Im interested again I gotta relearn everything!!!

Is there something you have to do differently to get this working in VR since all the screens are virtual?
Frenchy, you make great videos that are easy to follow, would you be willing to do an updated DOF/DOFLinx to show us how to set up both FX and FX3?
Yes I will. It might take some time, though, I have a lot of other projects on the go. But I will do one.
@@MajorFrenchy Thanks Frency, and please take your time, your doing great things for this hobby/community.
THANKS Major Frenchy for this Video . . .

Sorry my experience with VR is very minimal. Try the Discord VR group. discord.com/invite/p3dBrdAMXq
do we need to delete the direct b2s file if we use pup pack
You have to disable it. I would not delete it, but you can simply rename it with a different extension or name like the flintstone.directb2s-disabled
Quick questions do any of the tables save high scores everytime I play a vpx table and do really well it never asks for my name

My best advise add a 2nd screen if you can. 1 screen is really too small to fit it all.
what do you do when they are missing on this page?
I don't understand your question. Can you expand?
