@@AutomanicJack You act like it was normal for everybody. For common people back then it wasn't. Maybe among royal families themselves. It still doesn't make it any less disturbing or disgusting. It's even frowned upon in the show too.
@@P4PKing well if you can read i pointed out that that i was not going through this emotions, because i knew that incest was a thing between royals back then. i never acted like it was normal for everybody. but yeah, just believe what you want, i wont tell you or others how to feel or what to believe. In contrary, the first posting i commented on acted like everyone went through the same emotions: "Why is there incest?", oh boi

@@AutomanicJack I was aware of incest among royal families before watching Game of Thrones. It still didn't make it any less shocking to see a brother and sister having sex on screen for me. Even still, during the time period of when the TV show Game of Thrones takes place incest is not commonplace. It was only common among Targaryens who also somewhat fell out of the practice and are mostly all dead by the time the show starts anyway. The faith itself prohibits inbreeding. That becomes much more obvious later on in the show.
Stef, this show will make you go through all the range of human emotions possible. I am very excited you are starting this ride! The first 2-3 episodes are FULL of info and a bit harder to absorb, but you'll be surprised how fast these names, places and characters will enter your mind.
All the range of human emotions possible, and that can even be over just the course of a single episode, a whole season, and over several seasons. Wild times ahead!

Also, if it was Sean Bean you recognised and were unsure where he was from (Eddark Stark in this), he is in Lord of the Rings, he plays Boromir (the guy who takes three arrows in the first film; "I would have followed you. My brother, my captain, my king")
This is gonna be one helluva ride!
This show is very good with the exception of the limited budget, comes with limited the battle scene. I wish there were more battle scenes. And the finally, they completely rushed the final season. Should have at least another season or two to do real justice to this show.

I would recommend paying close attention when they talk about the past. It’s usually very important information that will come back later on, and it can be confusing if you don’t understand it. Otherwise I hope you enjoy! Truly one of the best shows
It took all of us a minute to get the names and faces and all of the aspects of the world straight. It will sort itself out. I promise. I actually gave up on the show after 3 episodes the very first time I tried watching it when it first came out. Someone I was seeing twisted my arm to give it another try and by the end of the first season I was obsessed. Don't give up.
I stopped halfway through the first episode! 3 years later, I marathon-binged the first four seasons just before season five!
I think the fact the show was able to evoke so many emotions and feelings in you in the first episode is a testament to the greatness of the show.
Oh, my sweet summer child, what do you know about fear? There are more characters in this show than any other show in history. There are seven kingdoms and that is just on one continent. You may want a map and a pen and pad of paper to keep it all straight, otherwise, you will be very confused for a long time because this show never stops introducing new characters and kingdoms and making references back and forth. If you don't keep track you may miss out on a lot. For this show, you need the memory of a Northerner because The North Remembers.
It's a lot to take in in the start,but you will get hooked pretty soon to all the characters and the world.But when you're in,get ready for a hell of a ride with this show!
One does not simply forget Boromir, Stef shame on you! I think you're going to really enjoy this journey.

I promise, it’s worth it. I know this first episode can be a tough pill to swallow. I stopped watching after it. However I gave it another shot later on and became a super fan. You’ll love it

I'll put it this way, Game of Thrones is like if LOTR was written/made realistic. There are magical elements but there's no wand spell casting as such.
Also you recognize Ned from LOTR... It's Boromir
A Song of Ice and Fire is more like what you described. The only similarity Game of Thrones has with Lord of the Rings is the medieval setting
So glad you started this show. This may become your favourite show with how well you're paying attention. I wish I could see it again for the first time. What a ride.

I might have gasped when I saw this episode get uploaded. The day I have waited for, the day winter has come for Stef. Trust me this show might seem complicated to begin with but stick with it and I promise you will love it.
I never watched fantasy films before Lord of the rings, so I was lost watching that the first time as well. Didn't even watch it till nine years after it came out. Same way with Game of Thrones for me. Started watching it when the last season was on and binge watched to catch up. It is a lot of information so don't be embarrassed to take notes. I promise you, it's the best show you've ever watched and be careful of people who love to throw out spoilers!
Yeah I totally get how you feel and it's supposed to feel that way. We haven't yet got to the start of character building let alone evolution and as each character evolves and when their intentions and journey gets more clearer so does the story unfold until you recognise the scale of what Game of Thrones can offer you. To me GOT is a journey of world building with suspense and excitement at each turn and it's the mystery and the reveal of such epic scale with the story and it's characters that fascinates me to this day. Yes, it also has all of "that", for which reasons are yet to reveal themselves.
This is definitely a show where you need to make an effort to remember who each character is; their names, relations, etc. There are so many characters that are actually important and not just background people. Every episode literally has dozens of main characters in.
So glad that you are starting this series. It is a masterpiece.
Try to take in all you can, but don't worry about being confused. Over time it will all make sense.
As for the nudity, ... this isn't a series for the human-body-offended crowd. The producers and directors were not afraid to show the honesty of human drive and motivation across MANY realms, sexuality being only one of them.
Beyond this, and without spoiling anything, make sure your seatbelt is securely fastened, the bar is lowered and locked, and keep your hands inside the car at all times as this ride is one of the wildest (if not THE wildest) in cinematic history so far.
Btw, it's great for us if you can make these videos a little bit longer so we don't miss some parts like Tyrion/Jon talk. Much love ❤

Game of Thrones is the best TV show I have ever watched. You're going to go through so many different emotions.
The nudity does tone down after the early first/maybe 2nd season. The surprises and emotional rollercoaster you are in store for will not. No other show made people so upset, so happy, so invested and some of the cinematography and dialogue that is to come is better than what you see in many movies.
I'm here for this. Buckle up, it's a journey but still one of my favorite shows of all time.

I highly recommend watching with subtitles even if you hate them. There are a lot of names/places and it gets easy to fall behind if you don't know who/where is being discussed.

The Intro is a map of the world, but it would also be good if you had a map of the world with you so you can pin point where everyone is and where all the kingdoms are.
This was really fun to watch, especially when you realized they were siblings. And yea, this show is one of the best. Seriously. Together with Fargo, True Detective, The Office, Halt and Catch Fire, Mad Men, The Mindhunter etc.

The only thing to remember: Keep a notebook to capture the information!
Pro viewing tip. Pay attention to the opening credits. It will clue you in on the locations appearing in the episode and should help you get a better grasp on the political natures of the series.
I don't really think it is necessary, but this is a show that a lot of people take notes on for the first half dozen episodes or so, while they are learning names/places etc.

Excited for this, such a great show. There are a lot of names and factions and such and you will get confused early on but you'll figure it out as it goes on. One thing I would recommend is looking up or even printing/buying a map of the game of thrones world so you can better understand where people are and the different kingdoms, cities, bodies of water as they'll be referenced a lot and it will help to understand what's going on so you don't have to worry about figuring out the geography and the characters at the same time.
A non spoiler quote from a character you won't meet for a while. "I wish you good fortune in the wars to come "
Oh my, what an epic journey this will be! Hopefully you have some Mods picked out who will handle screening the comment section for spoilers... because there will be plenty o_o.

"Triggering" is a very nice term for a couple of scenes in the series, yeah u will cry and rage at some characters, but it is an awesome series, totally worth watching

felt pretty refreshing for you to say you wanna learn the names and history to make the viewing experience better, usually reactors seem to just react to the pretty colors on screen and not actually invest themselves in the world and story.
