Damn boy, for as clean as this guitar is, I'm really impressed with how clean your vocals are too. This is obviously the best track on the cd (fight me), and seeing an acoustic version with great vocals and the HEART in it makes me very happy. You did it justice 10/10.
Todd Crawford thank you so much for the high regards and kind words! I love this track as well (my favorite is 7empest, however). I love how it begins a little mellow and ends with face melting... lol. I’m glad you thought I did justice! I try to do that with every thing I cover! Thank you again!
Finally! Since the first time I heard the recorded version I've been waiting for an acoustic cover! #NailedIt! Crisp and clean time signature transitions, appropriate level of vocal projection, spot on guitar dynamics and the love!(most important 😉) I could hear the intense passion you have for the band as a whole before you even started. The respect you've retained with a damn near full length cover by staying true to the original pauses and long breaks. #WellDone man! Well done indeed.🖤🤘 P.S. the very first stadium sized concert I ever went to was TooL at an outdoor amphitheater in 1998 when they were touring Ænima.
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka wow! Thank you so much for the high regards and love! I’m glad you enjoyed! It means a lot when I see comments like this because it makes me want to do more covers! I am glad that as an avid and long time fan yourself, you loved it so much! I would have loved to seen Tool in the 90’s (my dad saw them in ‘93 at Lollapalooza) but sadly I wasn’t born till ‘98... lol. Thank you again for the kind words!
@@jetsaleet I totally meant to reply last night but forgot... For real man. I think I read somewhere else that you're only like 20ish years old. By age 20, I had nine years of formal piano training, six years in a symphony percussion section and over 8 years of guitar and I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have been able to execute the dynamics the way you did here in this video. I sure as shit wouldn't have had the patience to wait those pauses out, that's for sure! Sometimes silence is worth more than a couple of notes... Which is a concept I understand but have a hard time practicing!🤷♂️ Plus, as I said... You don't only understand TooL and are able to play their music, You're living that song. You and that song werer the only thing that mattered for that 12 minutes. Most people might not see that but I do. Not that I feel you need to but you've got to your whole life ahead of you to improve! You can only go up from here!! 🤘🖤
Hats off man, I struggle just getting the timing correct on guitar because Tool loves changing up the timing signatures. Probably what makes their music so appealing to me. Plus this song is much more difficult on an acoustic too, in my opinion.
I am severely impressed by this. I know a lot of people will judge the thumbnail because of the "low quality" in the picture. However, any respectable person should always give the benefit of the doubt. I would love to collaborate with you.
Man, typically I'm sceptical when I see Tool covers but you reach a really great mix of cover with a signature of your own. Like Adam Monroe in a sense. Please get yourself a Rode NT1A mic and get these recordings going with hi-fi audio.
ASMR Self Checkout thank you so much! I do have a good mic already. How would I connect it to my computer though? Is there an XLR to USB adapter I can buy?
@@jetsaleet get yourself a recorder. I use a Tascam dr70d which has great pre-amps and 4 XLR inputs for simultaneous recording and phantom power also. Zoom makes great recorders too like the H4N. The recorders record to SD cards, throw the files into your computer using sd card reader, edit reverbs and mastering and boom, golden.
Amazing. People don't realize how difficult it is to play this song on guitar, let alone while singing.
