      Not to be morbid, but she would have died of dehydration long before she starved to death. My money is on death by dehydration, although getting bitten by a snake or something is also possible.

      @@ifyoudaretoknowme7011 It's the border there's absolute nothing right there. It's miles across the Desert and the closest river/ city. Hate to break it to you. But the stadistics of my country (México) don't lie. Thousands of people (most of them not even Mexicans) die in that desert or are just forgotten by the coyotes (a relative name for the ones who drives them across the border of México and USA). It's patrolled by the immigrant police and even thiefs to rob them or simply trafficants to choose who is the prettiest girl and sell them or who's younger to be able to sell their organs. It's true they leave for a better opportunity for their children but they know they might just die in the trying.

      In real life since she has children she wasn’t supposed to be deplorable to begin with. She wasn’t wearing red so it’s safe to assume she didn’t commit a felony. And you can say that intimate relationship with a citizen is revoked when she lost custody but she could’ve argued she only lost custody because she was wrongly detained to begin with. Biggest plot hole of this season tbh.

      @@kolinmartz It doesnt matter if you have children or not, there is no such law that make her undeportable. Yes she could have applied to cancellation of removal because of that, but it is extremely unlikeable to get accepted, and that takes a lot of time and money too.

After Karla was deported she payed a Coyote which are people who smuggle others through the desert if you pay them, and so Karla did this to reunite with her children, but sadly she probably died after this. Snarky Kryptonite wow, jumping to insults already? I never said “hey open the borders for everybody”. I’m just saying that these families and people are coming in at great risk but escaping greater danger and death. Fixing the immigration process should start by shortening the application time to asylum seekers so they don’t have to make this choice.

    • @MiguelAngel-zu1ke
      @MiguelAngel-zu1ke 5 років тому +41

      Yeah, because any person who decides something like that is because they're impatient and stupid rather than being forced to take that choice. Who would want to leave their country, family and friends and go to a country with a racist and xenophobic system? I get that USA (or any country) can't let "anyone" in, but the current violation of human rights due to migration politics that are based on biased data is something that should get more attention (also, economic, politic and social instability in Latin America has a lot to do with the participation of USA; while cartel activity is primarily due to demand on United States and Canada).

    • @claudiafunes7288
      @claudiafunes7288 5 років тому +47

      America has done nothing but to take from underprivileged, weaker nations for it's own benefit and imperialism since it was founded.
      Much of the instability present in Latin America today has roots in many European, and/or American interventions that sabotaged their economies and resources. So it's funny that now you consider people who are in this situation are ingrates or treat America as a welfare system, when some of them don't have a choice. You don't know what's going on in their countries, forget about Latin America, think about middle eastern or African countries with constant civil wars threatening your family. And ask yourself what would you do? When the system provided for immigration takes long periods, and favors western whites or of European decent.

    My 15 year sister & 12 year old brother were abandoned with an older lady moments after crossing the border. They lady couldnt walk anymore & was begging to be left behind to die or get picked up , my brother insisted he wasnt gonna leave her, in the end all 3 were left , the made it past the border line & ended up at the mercy of an American lady who spoke very little spanish but i know she knew they had just crossed. She helped them , bought them food & left them inside a Mcdonalds.
    The story is very tragic & sad. That lady was alive thanks to my 2 siblings, after they seperated they never heard of eachother again but the lady said she would always have them in her heart. 😭😭❤

    • @melizadebelen9831
      @melizadebelen9831 5 років тому +34

      Luma while I would have loved a happy ending for her, this is the sad reality of a lot of people lives due to immigration laws, children get separated from their families and people die trying to get into the US. She lucky her boys had adoptive homes quickly and that they’re being taken care of and that they were adopted together, in reality things are much darker and more complicated than that. I think it’s important to show what really happens in the world so we can be aware and more understanding and considerate of others peoples situations so that one day maybe the word just might be a little bit of a better place to live.

      So pretty much that group of people are immigrants who paid a “Coyote”.
      Coyotes those are people who get paid to smuggle immigrants through the desert. Karla fell and broke her ankle. The coyote tells the others to keep going while she tried to get Karla to walk but end up leaving her behind the bush saying that he has to go and finish his job. She begs him that her kids are on the “other side” (USA) and he says that he is sorry and tells her he might or might not come back to get her. She is left in that desert where she either died by dehydration, starvation, heat stroke, hypothermia or animals attacked her.

    I think her story is kinda unrealistic. Irl Karla would have been illegally detained. Her kids are both citizens. She isn’t deportable. She wasn’t wearing red so I’m assuming she didn’t commit a felony. It doesn’t matter if she came in illegally, since she is a parent to a us citizen she gets to stay. She has until they are 18 to get into a citizenship path. That’s the biggest plot hole of this season. For someone who worked for a low firm and LexisNexis user I find it hard to believe she missed that. And before you say she lost custody of her kids, she has the letter for her court appearance, she should have filed the paperwork to be transported and keep the denied copy. That’s evidence enough that she only lost her custody due to her wrongful detainment. She wrongfully lost that special relation with 2 US citizens.
