Interesting. Thanks. Some suggestions: avoid repetition, match the pictures with the narration, keep it strictly chronological, and draw on a much wider range of pics. Plenty from Hud, but, unless I am mistaken, none from Member of the Wedding or Shane, or In Harm's Way.
I have serious doubts about the veracity of the information in this piece. If the writer doesn't bother to check minor details, like the discrepancy in the story of the accident that took DeWilde's life, and in fact the careless mispronunciation of his name, causes me to question how much of this is really true.
I'm 68 but I read the article about his death. I remember reading he was driving a van . Can some one straighten this out please . Try to get the Facts right ✅.
@@brendagirard3890 - I read in several places that the fatal moment of his car accident he was driving to act in the play of "Butterflies are free"....In other sites, like here, they say he was going to visit his wife at the hospital... I knew Brandon in summer camp in Maine. He pronounced his name in three syllables. We were both in Cabin 6. In age we were all proto-sexual, hormones still on low heat.. One day a bunch of us signed up to go off-campus to the movies. It was the summer that three different movies set in ancient Egypt came out. As we were were exiting the movie and I was all enthused about how the movie crew must have have had a hard time getting all their cameras and everything inside of the temples and pyramids, Brandon explained that it was all movie sets.
I'd like to know where you got your information about his personal life. Also, you might have learned to pronounce his name properly. It is Brandon De Wil-duh.
As an earlier comment stated it would be nice to have the pictures match the narrative. Also the title of this video says how Brandon de Wilde tried to seduce Paul Newman. How could you know of that and his other exploits that seem very private where no one else would know that info.
So true...We humans are so fast when it comes to criticize others or spread rumors about someone just because we don't like him/her...! But let's remember: "what goes around, then comes around".
Wrong! Why besmirch the name of a great humanitarian such as Paul Newman by comparing then to sordid trashy people like the pond scum that are Will Smith and his "husband"
From ONE SOURCE, a sleazy Gay website with fake nudes of Branden and even the website had a disclaimer saying this was very unlikely. Either this guy stole it verbatim or he writes for that Gay website too.
Saying he had sex daily with one, two, or three male or female partners is irresponsible. There is zero evidence to support such a claim. He has a son and probably grandkids at this point. Do you think this is something they want to hear? Stop being gossipy,
Never read or heard anything about any bi-sexuality on Brandon's part. Not that there's anything wrong with such activity, but we know that probably 90% of actors/actresses have been rumored at one time or another to have had such an orientation. Some of it is certainly true and could be documented one way or another, the rest of it is just gossip or pure invention. The truth is often quite boring and less racy. Brandon was certainly a smashingly good-looking young man, and one can certainly imagine him having been propositioned by both sexes, but I don't think there's any way anyone can know whether or not or how he may have dealt with such propositions unless letters or other evidence could be found...what's more important is that he was an enormously talented actor, both as a child and an adult, and his untimely death was a great tragedy and a great loss to so many, as well as to theatre and film.
I've found out in life, several people or friends that were gay that I had no idea about. Doesn't change my opinion of them at all. Sadly, there today is a contingent of this group that want hetero people to not only accept their behavior but prove it by accepting depraved behavior in public. I feel sorry for the normal gay people.

Why is there a question mark in your subject title? It's a declarative sentence, not a question. If you want it to be a question, you would have to say, "How DID Brandon de Wilde TRY to Seduce Paul Newman?", or "Why DID Brandon de Wilde TRY to Seduce Paul Newman?", or just "DID Brandon de Wilde TRY to Seduce Paul Newman?".
Well, Paul Newman, was having sex with quite a few men, even George Peppard, that was all covered up, and Peppard died of a type of pneumonia that people with AIDS, got and died from, they were able to cover it up saying Peppard died from lung cancer, because he smoked a lot, but Peppard, liked his men as well as his women, Peppard and James Dean were an item, and Tab Hunter was also one of their accomplishments, I would have liked to have been with George Peppard, he was so handsome, Just my type too.❤🎉😊
Besides "Shane" I saw him in the '57 film "Night passage" with James Stewart, then in the '59 movie "Blue denim" with Carol Lynley, later in '63 in "Hud", and finally in '64 "In harm's way" with John Wayne.
PLEASE PRONOUNCE His Name Properly… It’s Brandon DE WILL DA not DE WILD I actually saw him in person when Shane opened In Phila. (at the Mastbaum Theatre) but keep the Videos coming as they’re informative and always entertaining
He was driving his camper van but was pinned beneath his motorcycle???? How did he manage that? Too many mixed facts here and way too many mispronunciations of names.
When you are the total "knockout" as Paul Newman was, I am sure he had to "fight off" both women and even some men. Almost everyone knows about James Dean obvious fascination for Paul. Just turn on the u tube interview between the two. I just read a book that talks about Paul Newman's fascination with Marlon Brando and the obvious affair they had. Brandon was just a "passing ship in the night" for Paul and I sense Paul's marriage would dictate his willingness or unwillingness to go with it. Brandon, God bless you for your wonderful movies. You made more movies than James Dean and your death really is sad!
I would like to know, where this new information came from ?He was driving a camper van, alone and not wearing a seatbelt, that left the roadway before striking a guardrail and a parked truck. The van rolled onto its side and pinned him in the wreckage. He was taken to St. Anthony Hospital, where he died at 7:20 p.m. of multiple injuries
Saw Blue Denim as a teen. Great movie and also ground breaking. Both Brandon and Carol did a great job. Had a teen crush on Lynley for a while. Beautiful lady.
Have to wonder about this guy talking...he says de Wilde was driving a camper van and crashes...then he says he is riding a motorcycle. Which is it??? Maybe the cycle was in the van???
It amazes and amuses me how much homosexuality existed in Hollywood then; and, is now even more open. I vaguely remember Brandon de Wilde. He might well have been a heart throb, although I likely did not fully understand those particular thrills coursing through my youthful body. He was quite adorable. What a sad end to a young and promising life.
You need to fact check. Here are two corrections ( there are many more) he was driving a camper van when he veered off the road and you mispronounce his last name.
Brandon had a role in the Beatles story. He joined their flight from New York to the Bahamas where they were to shoot Help! and hung around with them while they were there. He came with a large stash of marijuana which was much appreciated by the newly pot-crazy Beatles.
@@lindaatkinson3962 Any verifiable source for "I never heard that"? I don't think so. Only my testimony. And it's been so long, I'm not completely sure that I never heard about it. I may have. By the way, it's Andre B. DeWilde's 81st birthday, today!

You are not pronouncing Brandon de Wilde's name correctly. That shows me you have done little research and just more "copy and paste." Your videos are all rambling ... photos out of sync ... repetitious and, eventually too long and boring. How can any Hollywood subject be boring? Well, you are managing to do it.
Quiet as it's kept, Paul Newman was a know bisexual in Hollywood who had encounters with men like James Dean and Marlon Brando. That Brandon de Wiide seduced Newman is unlikely. Given that de Wilde was younger (and probably less expereinced) my guess it was the other way round. Who could blame him. de Wilde was precious. I first met him onscreen in Member of the Wedding and later, on TV, as Jamie. Sad we lost him so young, but like many in Hollywood who had conflicts around their sexual orientation, they had premature deaths due to alcohol, hard drugs and suicide.

It is pronounced de will de. Wonderful in The Member of the Wedding. Touching and realistic performance in Goodbye My Lady. Grew into a hottie especially in Hud. I would have propositioned Audie Murphy too. And Warren Beatty....men, men, men, men!
I was born the same year as Brandon. When I saw Shane it was one of the big moments in my young, impressionable life. Already aware I was gay, I was in love with both Brandon and Alan Ladd.
David Dean, yes! So-be-it, just as Nature directs one way, the other or both, depending on era of life and need. (NOT complicated!) That utter simplicity really gets 'em upset. They'll learn but . . . at what final cost to themselves and as more important, the ones they damage in their hysterical struggle for perfect denial's attainment? Regards . . .
I have never heard about Newman's attraction for men---I think in the 50's and 60's it was harder but in the movie business it sounds like if the circumstances were right why not enjoy yourself with men or women who ever you might be---All in fun and games I guess
there's a screen test here on UA-cam of Paul Newman and James Dean together. Dean says "kiss me" Newman says "not here" and they both laugh cause you had to be 'cool' in the 50's.
I do not doubt that your vocabulary is proper and correct...so I will not question feelingfully". I will however ask you to imagine me rising slowly to my feet and clapping in awe while I exclaim in deep wonderment..."well played good sir...well ..played!"
@@plasticweapon Thanks. I thought that was the name. He also did a film with Sidney Poitier about a dog. I want to see that one as well. Blue Denim was pretty controversial back then
He actually wrote the movie about his own experience as a teen father. The adults would not let him marry the mother. But he swore that, no matter what it took, he would support that little girl. A later girlfriend, the one in which he was most serious, he wrote a short play about, which is in one of those anthologies of plays, under a pseudonym. I do not believe he was ever gay
A very good review of Brandon de Wilde. Reading some comments, one gets the impression that a Hollywood actor being bisexual or gay is some surprising or juicy news. I reality, it seems that men in "the arts" should be assumed to be gay, unless confirmed otherwise.
No. You shouldn't be assuming anything about another person. Do you want people assuming things about you before they know anything about you? I would hope not.
A point of interest is: A few years ago I watched a video on Brandon de Wilde that claimed that his name is pronounced duh WILL duh. I looked it up on Google and it pronounced it just like this video does, but I thought it relevant to bring it up anyway.
Interesting channel. Both here and in the Randolph Scott/Cary Grant video you add a question mark at the end of each title, even though you are not actually asking a question! "How Brandon de Wilde Tried to Seduce Paul Newman" (without the question mark) is a statement of fact, and we could have assumed that you had the answers. But simply adding a question mark doesn't make it a question! To make a question out of this video, for example, you would need to rephrase the title as: How *did* Brandon de Wilde *try* to seduce Paul Newman? OR *Did* Brandon de Wilde *try* to seduce Paul Newman? Which is it?!!
By adding a question mark, they could try to use it as kind of a backside-covering disclaimer, of saying things they have no right to say, IF it ever became an issue. I think this is a bottom feeder channel, and they'll say anything that will get them likes and money.
He was not on a motorcycle when he died. He was in a camper van and not wearing a seatbelt when it collided with another vehicle and flipped on its side. Try and get your facts accurate. This kind of BS mistake is incredible.
He died while driving his camper van when he struck a guard rail and veered off and hit a construction vehicle while avoiding another driver and was pinned under his motorcycle and died 4 hours later..... huh?

I have serious doubts about the veracity of the information in this piece. If the writer doesn't bother to check minor details, like the discrepancy in the story of the accident that took DeWilde's life, and in fact the careless mispronunciation of his name, causes me to question how much of this is really true.

I even read that his son Jesse had died at an early age and that drove him to the abuse of drugs and alcohol. For all I know, Jesse is alive and doing fine up to this day.
Just for the record, the narrator is pronouncing his last name incorrectly: it is three syllables -
de-Will-duh .
Brandon DeWilde gay
What country dost thou hail from? America here ('MERICA! 🇺🇲) and two syllables duh-WILD sounds might fine to me.
Brandon's last name is pronounced "Deewillda" due to his Dutch heritage. 😉
Duhvilda
I can't get past the word "feelingfully" - did I really hear that?
He should have won an Oscar for Shane.
Sinatra won the supporting Oscar that year for the role of Maggio in "From Here to Eternity"
As I recall Hud, there was nothing in DeWilde's performance to suggest that, "He was falling in love with his uncle," played by Paul Newman.
Seemed more like typical male teenage hero worship to me.
This is what's called "too much information".
I'd like to know where you got your information about his personal life. Also, you might have learned to pronounce his name properly. It is Brandon De Wil-duh.
With longer hair he has a resemblance with Jim Morrison from the Doors.

@@jm7804 This fits into the ''anything for a buck'' category. Wonder whether the family has considered suing him for slander?

Why is there a question mark in your subject title? It's a declarative sentence, not a question.

Let's Go Brandon!!
To make a question out of this video, for example, you would need to rephrase the title as:
How *did* Brandon de Wilde *try* to seduce Paul Newman?
OR
*Did* Brandon de Wilde *try* to seduce Paul Newman?
Which is it?!!
By adding a question mark, they could try to use it as kind of a backside-covering disclaimer, of saying things they have no right to say, IF it ever became an issue. I think this is a bottom feeder channel, and they'll say anything that will get them likes and money.
This presenter's (or script writer's) grammar is appalling as is his voice and pronunciation.
he does it so that you will comment. It helps the channel. 😂
