They looked polished because students don't actually use their own art work or modeling a lot of times. It is strictly the animation. The animation is good absolutely but if you are judging this by the actually art is isn't his. Anyone can use these shots but the animation is what we are to focus on. Many of these animators only studied animation and have hardly a clue how to model. Thats not a bad thing though if you want to work in a large studio, everything department is specialized and not really general.
@@kureosk8 The art wasn't his. He just animated the models and scenes made by other artists. Which is usually what animation students do. They don't typically use their own modeling or sound.
@@beaubreau I don't....why are you replying to everyone that he didn't do the models. Yh we know. He's an animator.... He doesn't have to. It's literally not his skill set it the point if this reel. No one here is saying he designed scar, Klaus or made the 3d characters. (Ffs. Making a 3d character and character design is a WHOLE other septate skill) At the end of the days he's here to show his animation skill. He's amazing.
Just saw Klaus for the first time yesterday. It’s the most artistically incredible film I’ve seen in a long time, and the animation was nothing short of spectacular as well. Congrats on your and the team’s hard work!
Ooh, I found you through that Milt Kahl animation and just realized you had also posted a Klaus pencil test long before I knew what it was. What an amazing collection of works!
When people post their reels just remember to focus on the animation itself. Most reels are not using their own modeling. I say this because I don't want people to feel discouraged as if they have to know how to model or draw this well to make a reel. Modeling is a completely different department, and although I find it very useful to know how to model and how to rig from scratch, these are 2 completely different departments. Many animation students never even learn how to do these things extensively. That is because at a larger studio these are different jobs.
I don't care what anyone says, Wonderpark was a beautiful and funny movie. People don't like it but man- My heart. I cried before we even got to see the park!
@@HannahTheInsomniac I checked, and yes, it is ! Apparently the movie was praised for its animation and concept but criticised for its writing and story
0:15 this movie had such a good beginning but just ended up ruining its story :( i wish it stuck too it’s plot at the beginning and kept the serious tone (I forget it’s name)
Imagine being so good that you have parts of Klaus in your demo reel.
ikr? that´s what i was thinking! haha
YES
Did you not see LION KING?
@@PunkWad and the fact that the Lion king bit was a tribute that he made

That lion king shot at the end is such a casual flex I love it
That was a scene he made. It wasn't in the movie, he made it to be like another scene showing Scar ruling.
@@kureosk8 Still it’s very impressive and it was smart he featured it in his reel

0:58 no way you animated an illustration from the book “animator’s survival kit”
Its incredible that you were the one Who created that character for Klaus!! Something that is so amazing to watch! Great job man!
Thanks but I didn't 'create' it! That job relied on Sergio Pablos and Torsten Schrank
@@edquint ..
@@edquint haha you're the man, I love your animations. You are a master
