Lived in Overtown. Daughter walked to high school every day. I worked at an after school program there. Two handfuls of students I worked with have died over the years. I was also volunteering at a park and a shooting occurred. I would wall around the neighborhood because I knew parents. I loved it because it was an experience I'll never forget being around the people. When you're immersed things don't seem as bad. But it eventually was getting heavily gentrified. This video looks tame.
Also Jose you r 100% right about we should all that r fortunate just be happy with what we have. People shouldn’t try to keep up with the Jones because those kind of people just get themselves in debt and go downhill. I’ve never been one of those. Being content with having sufficient and being wise with your income will take you to a less stressful and happy life. These people on the street would love to have a roof over their heads and food. Many people take that for granted.
Please be careful. The infamous murder there in April 1993 had a massively negative impact on the Miami tourism industry. I believe Katie when she said people sit in the street & play Dominoes - or was that Liberty City? Love & joy to you both.
Me and my bro was just talking about over town he was telling me how dangerous it was and how he woke up and seen a dead man infront of his door step when he woke up seeing shootin in his backyard I’m from north Miami
This guy is not from even over town and he's over here trying to judge someone you can't judge a book by its cover you can't judge something that you never seen and had to live you haven't grown up over there that mean you don't overtime because you went the wrong way from the beginning so if you want your own View picture it to yourself in your brain in your mind
If you take time out to talk to some of the homeless people most of them came here from a different state or they are mentally ill something need to be done
If you don't like the way those people live in give them somewhere to live you worrying about the property what about where they're going to live they are homeless they mean they get to live where they want to live I don't understand people how you going to try to put something like this on the UA-cam channel when you're trying to make something out of nothing
It doesn't matter what kind of view it has if people down there suffering and those people need help but you're worrying about of you of what you want to look at wow really
Blur the people face out you don't know who are looking for people and you're just putting their face out there now you don't know if they're Worse Enemy might try to come and find them you people have no clue how to make videos you just throw something on the damn UA-cam thinking that it's okay I feel like that is wrong and very disrespectful that's just my opinion
I know exactly what you mean as someone who had very humble beginnings myself, people do not often understand what they have, until it's gone...
LOL! When you went the wrong way I kept looking at the signs thinking"oh shit".

Don't go there, especially at night. You will regret it. D.o.a. at jackson memorial.
Good job
As you can see, Overtown is gone.
Overtown is gentrified.
