You should have done one at a time. You cleaned area for the Shark and Bissell with the other tool which made it difficult to see which one handled which stain.

I have the little green, and it doesn't do anything but rub the stains into the carpet more or just not clean them. So I got the hydrosteam. I think the steam function will help to actually remove stains.

Great videos! Can you do a comparison between Bissell Pro heat 2x and Shark carpetXpert.

Yeah but you used the shark one to clean most of the stain that was on the other side for the Bissell product. You should have just stuck to using each machine on each side. So actually it seems that the shark performed better because it cleaned up all of its own mass plus a lot of what was on the other side.

@@rhondamayfield6314 Thanks for replying. I bought a VAX Duo which arrived yesterday and it’s ok but the suction is poor. I don’t expect to put extract what I put down but I was getting 100ml for every litre which is a tenth!! You really have to push down hard to get any results. So, decided to buy a Shark which will arrive tomorrow or day after and it’s fingers crossed. I’ve heard good things about the suction with its 450W motor.

The hose cleaner on the Shark is a game changer!! I kust hate I'd have to buy two solutions.

I wish they came with a spare fresh water container. That way I could have one with soap and one with just clean rinse water to immediately go back over the soaped areas.

Debating about buying the Bissell. I have the bigger hydrosteam bissell, but a shame it can't do steam out of the attachment. I was wondering if I can pull the handle back that it will work like that? If not, I do have a Duprey Steam Cleaner I could use in conjunction with the Bissell but then that's two items instead of just one like the Bissell Little Green.

I don’t believe pulling the handle back will do you any good.
Normal carpet cleaner hoses including the one on the upright version have one internal small hose for solution.
The Little Green Hydrosteam on the other hand has two internal hoses. One for solution and one for steam.
The hose port on the upright machine only pumps out solution. I believe this is the case whether the handle is pulled back or not as I believe the solution from the hose port for the attachments comes straight from the tank and bypasses the steam generator.
It’s definitely a shame in my opinion as well. Hopefully they redesign it one day to get steam out of the attachment hose too.

I will say that I use a McCullough steamer and my proheat 2x upright. But it would be nice if there was a two in one. Honestly I’m shocked it took them this long to do the hydrosteam series. I would consider how often you use this in the steam application, how often you need a quick handheld, how difficult it is for you to access etc. steam also has the ability to kill some bacteria if used correctly.
I’ll be honest, I’m really considering this for quick kid or pet cleanups. And handheld does a better job of suction because you can press deeper into the fabric. You definitely need to know your chemistry as heat and steam could actually set some stains, so think about what you would need it for. I think I would probably hold off for a bigger sale, but the convenience seems worth it to me.

Between the two which one extracted the water better? That is a major concern with carpet cleaners.

  • @jckrell

Well I am trying to decide between these two and this was a good review but unfortunately it did not help me to make a final decision. I would have liked to have seen maybe some tougher stains. These stains seemed easily removed by both cleaners. Would have liked to see some stains that the cleaners struggled to get clean but maybe one did better than the other. You mentioned that the Bissell possibly did a little better but when I was watching the video it seemed the shark was doing better. Bottom line is they both seem to have totally removed those stains. Maybe one was a little faster than the other. I'm seeing the Shark for $119.99 and the Bissell for $199.99.

The shark uses 2 cleaning solutions with one of them being a multiplier. A better test would have been to use the SAME EXACT CLEANING SOLUTION on both. The cleaning solutions that are out there can be used on both when pre-mixed on the clean water tank. Just remove the extra bottles or leave them empty. And I don't understand why all the YT reviewers don't do their tests that way. Otherwise they are testing not just a different machine but also a different solution, which ends up telling you... absolutely nothing.

this is why we don't have carpet in our house. plus carpet is gross not just with pets in the how but overall. Americans need to go past carpets. this is why people have terrible allergies or get sick.

@@acidfly1 Carpets suck no matter how hard you try to keep them clean... cause in the end, you just can not keep them clean no matter what you do... rugs over hard floor on the other hand you can send them to a professional cleaner or throw them in the washer if they are small. With pads and carpet, you can never get them fully 100% clean. They just get nastier over time... till you can't stand them anymore and you have to replace them wasting all the money you spent on them...
