    Mary is just so elegant in the way she's sitting an upright posture with ankles crossed the young folks today who slouch could learn a thing or two from her. Also how precise she is and the emphasising with her hands when needed. I just love her expressive face and tongue in cheek comments. She is such a darling, a lady who instantly has your respect for all she is and does. Much love from India to this gem of a lass.

    She is of the generation that a lady's back should never touch the back of a chair; one must sit upright and neither slump nor slouch. As my first grade teacher reminded us with a gentle tap of her wooden ruler on our shoulder as she passed by each of us at our desk, "A proper posture is a happy posture".

    Mary Berry is a wonderful mix of firm teacher and maternal figure, with a twinkly, slightly michievous streak rippling through it all.
    This is what makes her so engaging and such a success over many decades.

    I don't understand why the host doesn't pour the drink for the guest, I know it's a silly thing to point out but I just don't feel that it's very nice to allow her to sit there and struggle to open a bottle.
    Aside from that what a fantastic talk.

    • @michaelhope8899

      I got the distinct impression that the host was quite nervous. Her voice wavered a little, she stumbled over her words sometimes, and there were aaaalllmost awkward pauses between the end of the applause after an answer and her saying, ...."ummm, thank you for the question. And......we'll....go with that person".
      She definitely struck me as nervous.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mary Berry!!!!!! This video was filmed back in 2016, but so enjoying watching it now; never saw it before. The ONLY drawback is the woman interviewing her - the large, white price tag on the bottom of one of her shoes is enormously distracting, as well as her over-usage of the word - ummm - way too often. I highly recommend a speech class, which can be taken usually thru a local community college for very little money. But back to Mary Berry - she is just about the loveliest person and could teach many people the proper way to speak and behave. She can do no wrong in my eyes.

    I recall In 1944. I was in my high chair and every week given brains for lunch. It looked like a brain with all the little black veins over it. Grey and horrible
    No sauce I recall. I can’t remember eating it. Perhaps my nanny took pity but I’m sure had one ghastly bite. I was told brain makes brain. Perhaps they knew something. I’ve achieved a lot. Never subjected my family to a thing but healthy but DELICIOUS meals. If only they knew.

      Why do you make a reference to America like a disease?

    • @EgoShredder
      @EgoShredder 7 років тому

      Kalli 90
      America is not a disease, but I do wonder why England is rushing headlong into abandoning all of its own culture in favour of others, especially American traits and ideas. Obviously England has a history of exporting its own culture and traits, which others have copied etc. So its not a new phenomenon.

    • @RustyDucky2
      @RustyDucky2 5 років тому

      Ego Shredder - I'm from America and I can only imagine what is televised across the pond about us. Yes I see what you are referring to, the slouching pants, the "Walmart" fashions, the crudeness of conversations. Thankfully, there is a hidden part of America from every ethnic group that believes in conducting oneself with dignity and decorum and has not succumbed to the lackadaisical life style that permeates so much of society today. My mother is from Charleston, South Carolina and enjoys her tea in a bone thin China tea cup. She reminds me somewhat of Mrs. Berry. It is not snobbish to want to be surrounded by beauty and to strive for things which uplift and to share beauty and knowledge with others. It is the beauty of life, a hope that one is always trying to improve themselves, whether it is through language, art, music, education, and the divine hope of the eternal. I believe God created within us the ability to uplift those around us with love and to treat others with dignity wherever we find ourselves, whether in America or across the globe. Mrs. Berry is the epitome of beauty inside and out.
