The film is a must watch. I unknowingly stumbled upon this masterpiece while channel surfing late at night. It was showing on TCM and I caught it about halfway in. I was mesmerized by the music and the colors and the unmistakable longing between the central characters. I've since purchased the bluray and have watched it many times. It's themes are timeless and universal.

Chungking Express 7. 2046 Though they are all amazing to me and get better with each viewing! I love any opportunity I have to bring out that great World of Wong Kar Wai box and think back on my experience with these films, In the Mood for Love included. Your rankings are quite different from mine Seth which I respect! Here's mine: 1. 2046 2. Chungking Express 3. In the Mood For Love 4. Fallen Angels 5. Happy Together 6. As Tears Go By 7. Days of Being Wild Just like you, I enjoy all of these films, but each one I connect with differently. 2046 is at the top on my list not so much because it is a technically superior film, but base don how I relate to it in terms of my life experience. It was that impactful (and I know I'm in the minority with that one)! This just kind of happened while going over the World of Wong Kar-wai box set)Though I don't deny that movies like Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love are generally more celebrated. Cinema is subjective.

I really like/want the Criterion 'The World of Wong Kar-Wai Collector's Edition', which has this description... 'New 4K digital restorations of Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, Happy Together, In the Mood for Love and 2046, approved by director Wong Kar Wai, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks. New 4K digital restorations of As Tears Go By and Days of Being Wild, with uncompressed monaural soundtracks.' So, please correct me if I'm wrong, World of WKW Collection is 4K transfer at 1080p (Blu-ray), and this latest individual release of In the Mood for Love is the same 4K transfer at 4K resolution, both with the controversial green tint?

@@bc5327 seen a lot of films, but I can’t get every criterion film that comes out every year, so watching these videos sort of helps me hear about them from someone who has watched them and determine if I’d like to see them one day.

The connection between Maggie Chung and Tony Leung Chiu-wai is sensational and is one of the best unorthodox relationships in a movie I've seen. One needs to set aside some time so they can see this gem of a movie and one of the best film from a true auteur in the world of film in Wong Kar-wai!
