Do we have to track the time through Upwork? Can’t we just bill our time with info on what we did?
For hourly-rate jobs, you must use the time tracker if you want Upwork's payment protection. You can add manual time, however that is not covered by the payment protection. Otherwise, I recommend suggesting a fixed-price contract with milestones set for each step.
