  • In this video I'll be showing you my opinion on the best trucks for Season 11, Scandinavia. With plenty of tough terrain, it is important to have great trucks to conquer it. If you haven't checked these trucks out, I definitely recommend them. Enjoy!

It's actually a decent video. I don't know if it's ignorance or not but saying the KW 963 has a problem with hills is a blatant lie. Or at the very least misinformation. It goes slowly uphills, sure. But if you dislike that, switch from the advance special to the fine-tune gearbox. I get that to most people think the extra torque isn't worth the increased fuel consumption, But on the 963 it doesn't matter a whole lot. It's fuel capacity is amazing.

I ask the question "Is the Burlak a replacement, is it contender, is it a rival to the venerable Tatarin?" and the answer is "Heck no"
The things that they do similar, the Tatarin does better. The only difference is that the Burlak can pick up where the Tatarin leaves off. Tatarin can't do trailers, can't handle water, can't handle rocks. Burlak can do those things, but for the rest the Tatarin can handle it better. My biggest gripe about the Burlak is how weak the engine is. The second you put any kind of load on it the thing just slows to a crawl, similar to the Antarctic. It will make it through whatever you throw at it but you might fall asleep by the time you get there, and with the Burlak being a bit tippy, it might lay down for a nap as well.
I'm about halfway through Season 11 and my goto trucks have usually been Tayga twins (though in the deep snow uphills they struggle), International Loadstar, I have used Burlak, Twinsteer, Azov 5319, and the P12. I normally use the Forester for logging but with the short trips and relatively decent roads, I find the Azov 5319 to quickly rip back and forth, or even a Tayga.

You should retest the Burlak. The Tatarin does go faster in very deep mud and is more stable. That's literally it. The Burlak 6X6 literally does everything better. It also cannot get stuck. Unlike the Tatarin. So while the Tatarin's crazy mud rating helps, what's the point if you can eventually get stuck? The Burlak does everything better than every scout ever. Just watch out for tipping over.

@@hermanjohnson9180 I have been, now and then.
The point is that while the Burlak can go through the deep mud and make it, the Tatarin will be able to rip around through the light/medium mud and terrain while not having to back off on the throttle.
It will be at the destination while the Burlak is still slogging through the mud, fully depending on that L+ in order to get that diff lock engaged.
You need to constantly adjust the Burlak to deal with changes in terrain and that can really kill the momentum.
Tatarin just slams the hammer down, gets to 5th gear and almost nothing slows it down.
Almost all the terrain is what the Tatarin can handle with ease, maps are set up that way, save for the few places where it will struggle and the Burlak could handle it...but so could many other vehicles, and might do a better job.

@@Paladwyn Well it's 100% true that you do need to adjust the Burlak according to the terrain. However you seem to be forgetting that the Tatarin is literally the slowest vehicle in the game. You're not ripping through anything. It just never slows down due to starting to get stuck. The thing is, the Burlak is the same way but with a higher threshold overall. If you want to tip through terrain, use a K-700. And when it gets crazy, a K7M.
Even then the Burlak will have an advantage on ice. Aside from having to watch for tipping over, it truly is an overpowered scout. My only point being that the Tatarin is no competition for it. Which is really saying something because it's still a great vehicle.
I haven't even gotten into the fact that the Burlak also has utterly superior range.
Because of the Bandit with Tayga tires, Tractors and the Burlak, there's no real reason to use Tatarin. I use it because I love that little but heavy vehicle. 🙂
Well, I've said my piece. Even if you disagree I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

@@hermanjohnson9180 Oh I'm not forgetting the Tatarin is the slowest vehicle. I'm saying that the Burlak, in L+ going through the mud is slower than the Tatarin while driving through the terrain it's good at. Even if you took the Burlak the same route, Tatarin will still be faster because it doesn't need to drop to L+.
When 80% of the terrain is the kind of stuff the Tatarin excels at handling and only at limited times will you run into things it can't handle, it handles those things considerably better than the Burlak. There is no competition for the terrain that the Tatarin handles best which happens to be most of the terrain in the game.
I was hoping for a vehicle to rival the Tatarin, and when I use it I don't feel it. Many videos will focus on specific terrain and compare just one at a time but the game isn't that. It's being able to handle multiple changes, tarmac to mud to dirt. When you start to compare how vehicles handle terrain switching on the fly. With this the Tatarin is unmatched where Burlak will require to put it into H to help maintain speed until it needs to drop to L+. Now it's lost its speed advantage. The second you take your foot off the accelerator, Burlak loses almost all its momentum.
I'd like to see a proper race between the two where getting to a destination requires multiple terrain switches and maybe some alternative routes (albeit a bit longer) to avoid deep mud and snow. I'm confident the Tatarin will get to the destination long before the Burlak does. Perhaps.

@@Paladwyn I don't see how having to pay attention to what you're driving in to be a drawback. Even if what you said was true, that's only one thing. The Burlak has a crane, can pull both kinds of trailers etc.
Well, as long as us players have an understanding. Let's just agree to disagree.

These are too OP trucks in my opinion. I use Catepillar Ct 681, International Loadstar 1700, Boar 45318 and Pacific P 512 PF. Only not OP truck for Scandinavia is Mack.

I feel the same, but i actually used twinsteer for some missions. Btw cat ct681 is very underrated

I love that little Loadstar. I use it for a lot of things. It's perfect with the Highrange gearbox, just uses brute force and insane torque to push through.
