He is a national treasure. He tells it like it is, no sugar coating it. Anybody who subscribes to the ideology of “healthy at every size” or supports the fat acceptance movement should be mocked and jeered everywhere they go. You know most of those people would push a button that made them a healthy normal weight if they could. Same with all the fat influencers on toktik or whatever it is. Deep down, they are not happy. They would trade that weight with a healthy, normal weight individual any day of the week.

@julie Anne That wouldn’t help them because they aren’t learning a healthier lifestyle! Weight loss medication is a short term drug not a long term drug therefore as soon as they are pulled off the medication they have learned nothing and will just get right back to where they were! Also some of the patients are not eating just when hungry they eat even when not hungry so that wouldn’t really help! It’s like an Iv drug user it’s not only the actual drug, it’s the high they get even when just putting a needle in their arm so it’s not always the food alone, it’s the act of the motions! I agree 100% on depression medication

I always have been so confused about how anybody could get this huge. I went through a period of time where I was consistently gaining 2-3 pounds a month. One day I weighed in at 208. I don't know why it was that particular number, but that was the point where I was just like "That's it. No more. I refuse to ever see any number higher than 208 on this scale" I like to say that 208 was my, "Oh hell naw!" weight. I refused to gain another ounce.
So with these people it's like okay, I understand getting caught up with life and getting careless with calorie intake and lazy about exercise and I know weight can creep up on someone. But 600? At 300 you didn't say, "Whoa. 300?! Holy shit, I need to get ahold of this!" At 400? 500? Like damn, you can gain faster than most people realize but it had to take a long time to get up that high. At no point did you think it was getting out of hand? Like why do they wait until they are so fat that they can't stand up? Baffling.

I have seen that a lot of people do not understand what she have meant by "taking a break"
    She meant it by emotionally.
Food addiction usually starts when there are overwhelming amount of negative emotions in a person's life that are constantly around. They are either very sad or very angry all the time or the mix of both.
This is what most commonly trauma does.
So to basically save themselves from breaking down mentally they try to distract themselves with something. She was in stress and in pain and the only way she can release that(she was not thought of anything else, not shown a good example or guided) is that she eats.
This is what she meant by "taking a break". Taking a break mentally from the suffering. She is distracting herself. But the bad thing is that she is doing it in a way that not just not helps but slowly kills her.

This, sadly, is what true addiction looks like. You know what you're doing is killing you, and that every time you succumb to your addiction you're sliding that little bit closer to your own death. You know what you need to do to stop, and you desperately want to beat your addiction and live a normal, healthy life again - for you AND your loved ones. But when those cravings kick in, they shut all of your logical brain down and you can't think past the moment you get that addictive substance into your body, to quieten down the demons screaming for it in your head. The logical brain only comes back online once that's happened - and then it's too late, the damage is done. And all you've got left is to hope and pray you can be stronger the next time - without much evidence to suggest you can.

Everything but the will to live. My biggest problem when it comes to the patients is, in the beginning they always says Dr. Now is gonna give them surgery and that's how they're gonna lose weight. They just expect to go and get a date and it's like no, this us a process and you are not fit. They recognize the warning signs they just want others to fix the issue so they can get what they want. That's why they get so upset at first check up because they thought dr. Now would just take any old progress and see that it's "not working" and opt for surgery instead. I feel bad up until a point. The trauma in their childhood years is never their fault, and I mean that, but what they do as conscious adults is just that, conscious. For 15 years they say they can't take it and they don't want their children to get the bad habits but it's far too late. This show reminds me that I'm the only person that can make my life more positive and everyone else is just support and a resource at times.

I'm seeing a dangerous number of comments mentioning "food addiction" lately. There's no such thing. These people use eating as a habit to try to feel better, but there is no actual addiction here. If food was an addictive substance, all humans would be badly addicted because it is a necessity we eat daily to survive. Which would instantly form addiction. This person just has a really bad habit of eating a lot, and she eats when she feels bad, but she is not suffering from an "addiction" and she won't have cold sweats, shakes, and withdrawals if she eats less food, nor will she go through anything a substance abusive person would go through. She uses food as a crutch and an excuse for her depression.

Please do not attack me. But this is also a nationality problem. We just do not have cases like this in Croatia. Just don’t. Fat people here weigh maximum of like 150-200 kg and that is really obese here. Please don’t think I am nationalistic I just want to tell you is something wrong in your food culture and system. This gave me goosebumps. I am shocked

I feel angry with close family members of these extremely overweight people who give in so easily and supply them with any food they ask for! Always fried, fattening stuff….I say close family members, but I did see one person ordering huge takeaway orders that were delivered to their beds! It’s either comfort eating, or something in their brains telling they HAVE TO eat like this….it’s sad because at early stages when still mobile they could have had the motivation to walk more….now they are too large to even safely have surgery to remove some body mass or gastric band etc, as I’m sure the anaesthetist would refuse to give aesthetic in case they died during surgery .
It will be extremely costly, but the option left is to keep them in medical care on the correct diet, and where they cannot access the fat
Foods they always want…families will not be allowed to smuggle food in.
It must be very frustrating for the medical people, who can get these patients to lose weight in their care, but know as soon as they leave they will head for McDonald’s etc. such a dilemma. But obviously this ladies heart won’t last the strain much longer…very sad.

Did she say, "take a break and pace myself"? She's just laying there. She's not driving. She didn't even try to readjust how she was laying, didn't bother to sit up or anything.
I'm learned today that I have undefined class 3 obesity with a 36 inch waist but I have a BMI of 47.6 and I am 313 pounds as of today. So, I am no small woman. Anyway, how did she need a break when she didn't even...just...ugh!

The hospital scene makes me cringe. When I had heart surgery it took two nurses to lift me onto the bed and one to help me turn over. I would feel like such a burden if it took 8 people to move me.

What exactly is she taking a break from? What is she pacing herself for? All she’s doing is riding and annoying her husband and father. She claims she can’t do very much but when they pull into a fast food parking lot she sure does perk up enough to order a few combos! Why can’t she order one oversized combo and call it a day? There’s no way I would look at my body transforming like this and continue to eat the way she does. If she skipped just one of her nine meals per day it would at least be a starting point and she would start losing weight.

Bless that medical staff and medical workers everywhere for moving the bodies that can't move on their own. During the pandemic, many intubated and sedated patients in the intensive care unit were regularly flipped in order to help with pulmonary secretions and airflow - it's backbreaking and sometimes very risky work.
