Seriously I used to be 274 I’m now 192 I had binge eating disorder and the feelings are always there but weightloss is 100% mental you have you to over come those feelings and thought this journey I’ve realized the #1 reason why people don’t lose weight is because they do t want to feel hungry. Hunger privilege is what I call it, humans weren’t made to eat even 3 times a day, and us “over weight” Americans feeling hungry after what 7 hours of eating when there’s kids that starve for weeks at a time.. you really have to do a complete 360 with you eating routine it’s sad to see the husband try so hard because it won’t change unless she is ready and only her. No matter who’s fighting for her.
It's too much to ask for him. Pulling her away from an addiction is a professional's work. Your partner should be able to do lots of heavy lifting by the nature of the role, but curing her goes past that.
@@Jasmine-ju2yf You're absolutely correct, she will not do it until SHE is ready. And...I agree with people fearing the feeling of being hungry. I grew up without much food in the home so being hungry is actually a familiar feeling to me...it's almost comforting when my tummy is growling. Once the growling goes away, I'm completely past the urge to eat.
Her husband is the partner that every person on this show needs. Yes, he yelled, but he only did it because he loves her and wants to give her a reality check before it's too late. I'm proud of him for telling her no and for giving her a wake up call. This man deserves a better woman.
Broke my heart to see him cry💔 he’s so supportive and even eating the diet with her. These ppl become abusive when their partners or anyone says NO. They need therapy too to heal from years of abuse.
@@Asachara we don't know for sure what are they and their situation when off the camera. But just based from that footage, he reaches his breaking point and NO I couldn't blame the dude and neither it's fair to do. He didn't mean to shout at her for sure.... She's the one who's manipulative. She puts on guilt to her husband when she has to own such responsibility in the 1st place. - Sayin he does not care her that much for her poor choice of food - when he has no choice but to give in to her demands in the end and say "Yes". - Sayin he does not understand her and her situation and didn't feel his support - when he tries to stand on his ground and say "NO" on those things she demands that were harming her in the process.
Doesn’t look like her husband has a hard time saying “no” He’s very clear where he stands with her poor eating habits. One 5 second clip showing him yelling at her to not eat food that will end her life, doesn’t prove she’s in an abusive relationship. Living with an addiction will drive anyone to yelling at their SO to do better. Specifically when that person says and claims they’re going to do better but instead does the complete opposite. A little yelling “eat death!” is honestly a wake up call
The fact she said in 7:06 that her friend is helping and understands her is basically throwing her husband under the bus making it seem like he didn’t even attempt or try to help her
Yeah it was a hidden dig at him. But then again she needed to do this on her own. He had a career out in his home state. She wanted a push over and he pushed back against it. Her room mate was a disinterested third party so she was able to keep her distance and avoid becoming an enabler.
This is weird but I used to LOVE potato chips--salty and crunchy--i could eat a whole bag in one sitting. I read somewhere that you could substitute cucumber slices with sea salt for chips and I tried it--i still got my salt and crunch and when I paired it with avocado or hummus it filled me up. I'm down 30 pounds now--just from cutting the chips.
Some people may think Dr. Now is harsh but the sad fact is the reason the overwhelming majority of these people are as obese as they are in the first place is because no one has given them that necessary tough love.
I don't think Dr Now is harsh at all, but the reason most of these people are obese is because of childhood trauma, not lack of 'tough love. I hope they'll get all the help that they need. Long-term therapy first and foremost.
Childhood trauma effects weight gain. When I was 19 I was going through some things and still dealing with my childhood. I ended up getting obese. Fast forward to 20 and I started fasting and exercising and 9 months later I had abs around my 21st birthday. It took a lot over hundreds of days to get me to that point and I wasn't that obese at the beginning.
I like him a lot. He's the best partner I've seen on these shows. And their house is the cleanest from the rest. I feel for his frustration and stress levels 😔
So do I. A spouse/partner that really cares about his partner shoving and stuffing starchy, salty and sugary foods with preservatives is sad and frustrating to let happen. Nobody can fix stupid but it never means the high road isn't an option. Good for him to be assertive unlike some of the other spouses and enablers that overindulge too much due to the spouse or someone in their care screaming if they don't get what they want. Rolling Stones You Can't Always get what you Want play it 100 times for a wake up call to try to fix lazy, overindulging, spoiled and no discipline with learning about needs and wants.
Yes a clean house. Honestly saying, i am always shocked about how people live in the USA. Messy, no style, no furniture, and the food they eat! OMG It's disgusting.
@loveutill theendoftimes That was far from abusive. That's a man at the end of his rope from watching his wife kill herself slowly. Sometimes people need tough love.

I love how she said on her first trip to Houston that she loved rewarding herself with food after she’d done a lot of hard work. She was sitting in the car. Husband did all the driving, paid all the bills, packed and unloaded the car. Lots of 600 pounders talk about how hard they work. I’ve been working so hard, sitting quietly not eating while everyone else is working jobs, tending the children doing all the housework, shopping, cooking, repairs, bills, maintaining the cars, walking the dogs, laundry and waiting on , pushing in wheel chairs, and bathing them.
That poor guy...u can really see the frustration. " I just need u to support me! " by giving me all the junk food I want. No he's not ur enabler lady, he's ur husband 🥺
Is this the husband that is a recovering alcoholic? I can understand his frustration. They’re both addicts. You can’t have “just a little bit” of what you’re addicted to. It’s not going to break the cycle. He drinks or he doesn’t drink. She sticks to the diet or doesn’t stick to the diet. Middle ground doesn’t work. He is SO right when he said “eat death.” Giving into addiction is DEATH. No matter what.
You need food to survive and less strict diets are easier to adhere to. I assume she was given a diet of 1200 calories a day because her life was in immediate danger because of her weight but for people where this is not the case there is no reason to be that drastic with the diet. Especially because quick weight loss means you will lose a lot of muscle mass as well. Her basal metabolic rate is over 3000 calories, she can eat 2000 calories a day and still lose around 2lbs (1kg) every single week which is fast enough if not too fast for most people but apparently isn't fast enough for someone that big.
Also, you can incorporate high caloric, not so healthy food in your diet and still lose weight. I lost 11lbs (5kg) in 3 weeks yet I managed to eat 200g of pizza with mayonnaise one day (and be in caloric deficit that day), a piece of creampie another day, a piece of cheesecake another day, sandwich with cheese another day and a couple of other high calorie foods. I was in a pretty big caloric deficit every day. What made incorporating such high calorie foods possible was the fact that majority of my foods were low/medium caloric foods that were either very healthy, or more or less healthy. In a way I have never cheated the diet because I have never said to myself that I would not eat this or that food, I only promised myself that I would be in a caloric deficit every single day, which I have accomplished so far. If I wanted to eat a big mac I could easily incorporate it into the diet for that day and be in caloric deficit that day. I avoid such foods in general though because they are among the unhealthiest foods out there because of things like fatty trans acids.
But I agree that snacks are something that she should avoid. The major things which helped me lose weight fast were getting rid of snacks and all in between meals. I eat 2 or 3 times a day now and nothing in between. I drink almost nothing but water. Ocassionally I would take a glass of something else and then count the calories that such drink contained. I mostly eat fruits for desert if I have a desert at all. Sometimes I incorporate a not so healthy highly caloric desert but I make sure that I am still in the caloric deficit that day. I eat way less cheese and mayonnaise than I used to. I am mindful of oil adding calories to my meal. I am exercising, but that's something that I have been doing since before I started dieting. And above all, I count my calories.
@@smrtfasizmu6161 feel like you missed the point of what the person is saying. It's clear she needed to eat less to reach her goal so she can have weight loss. You eat less calories then the daily recommended to loose weight. I've had my own weight struggles all my life, but never this bad, and I've recently lost a lot. To see such a blatant example of food being used as an emotional crutch... But that's just how it often goes with the guests on this show, isn't it? Childhood trauma. Addiction. Injury. Etc. - it seems like most or all of them are eating to try to escape or avoid something. It's not about the taste, it's about the brain chemistry. The comfort and the neurochemical reward system. Boiled chicken is LITERALLY the worst way to eat chicken. Throw that bad boy on the grill with the right seasoning and it's the same calories. There's no reason a diet can't taste good, and if it's not you won't stick to it.
Re the caloric loss: "It's a shock to the body" its more like a shock to the emotional self...her body can deal with decreased calories; but the emotional and habitual crutch is so powerful. She is trying but could've used some therapy. It really is hard for individuals. Dr is blunt but him lowering it to 35 lbs a month (say instead of 100) was slower and more realistic.
What he said was harsh but he realizing he can’t keep enabling her. I can tell he really loves her and doesn’t want her to die, it had to be said.

My dad is dying of obesity. No amount of nagging inspired any changes.
@@Galworld761 How do you die of obesity? How much does he weigh?

Sooo true !!
Alcoholics are so weird to me considering that I can easily drink a glass of beer or a glass of wine and have no urge to drink another one.
She says she knows what her body needs, but she does not, that is how she got this way.
Low key I think he was mad she boiled the chicken and then wanted chips.
She gave the food enough seasoning through her tears

Wow then she has the audacity to say "I just need him to support me"?! He's done supporting her eating herself to death!! He is one of the most supportive partners I've ever seen on this show, he's just at the end of his rope and doesn't know how else to help her 😞
This is what frustrates me. They want to eat themselves to 600 lbs and then expect their significant other to take care of them. It’s so selfish. I would never stay with someone like that. It’s not a disease, it’s a choice. And then to burden your family is bullshit. If they wanted to take care of an elephant they would be working at the zoo.
Agree a million percent! No WAY I'm giving up my life to work my azz off to feed a lazy 🐖 who lays in bed whining! I'd abandon them
I'm with the husband..."Eat Death Lynsey"...
That makes 4 of us
She wants a yes man. I’m glad he is standing up to her. He loves her and he cares about her.
So if you're struggling with junk food addiction, why have snacks at home in the first place?
There a difference between enabler and support. She needs the support. Her husband will not enabler her. He know she will die if she doesn't stop NOW. She doesn't see it food a crutch to her. She doesn't see that.
