- Short video of how to change the oil in your Volvo D5 engine. The engine in this video is D5244T4/T5 but it is not much different from any other D5 in P2 cars. D5244T (black engine cover) will take slightly more oil (6-6.5L) and can be filled to the max level (no DPF). D5244T4/T5 (gray/silver engine cover) will take around 5.5-5.8L and should be filled to max 70% level on the dipstick. Overfilling will cause engine oil level sensor fault and engine light.

Hi, thanks for thew video. Im not sure with how much oil should I fill in it. You have put 5.5L and it was too much? or is 5.5 liters ok?
It depends which version D5 you have. Between 5.5 and 6.5
@@HeapsofProjects I have D5244T4
I could not pull the filter off the cap. Looks like there are clips in there . How is it done?
You just pull, some filters can be tight but there are no other tricks
Sounds like it is raining hard outside.
Thanks, that was helpful!
Glad it helped!

Driving more than 300 miles at a time are a thing of the past with an EV...😅
thanks for showing the part where you need a special oil filter tool to remove it, just took apart my car & drained the oil now i cant drive it. you should really include that part dude.
In the beginning of the video I show what you need and there is 36mm socket there as well, its not really a special tool.
Lol
@@HeapsofProjectsnot talking about the socket, i’m talking about the oil filter wrench needed for the v70. you did not include that part in the beginning.
@@uwubeanzz4593I don't understand. Is your car diesel D5?
