If you have some basic skills in russian do one hour work out using your headphones with this type of videos and in one week you'll be able to spot each sentence's words by just hearing them. Repeat it one more week and you'll be able to understand everyday russian with ease.

I’d appreciate if one of the repetitions on each phrase was a bit slower. Some of these sounds don’t exist in the languages I speak, and I’d like to make sure I’m speaking this beautiful language properly! These phrases will really come in handy with my Russian-speaking roommate next year. Thanks for making such an informative video :) спасибо!

At around 56.15, this shows how amazingly clever Russian people are. Here is a Subject, verb, object type sentence, BUT!!! because of their system, they can throw the Object at the front, follow it up with the subject then finish the sentence off with the verb. THEN!! This could have been switched around in a few different ways. And Russian people can simply accept this and unscramble this sentence (as the example) no matter how the word order has been given to them. Russian speakers, my hat goes off to your ability to do such complex things. Let's face it, that means that even a farmer guiding a plough behind an horse in a field has this same ability. Wow! You guys are totally amazing

@@amym3158 Hi Amy, just found this link in my hundreds of links and looked at it again. Not 4 months later....... 2 years later. I have improved a little bit, but being old and not too clever, I still have heaps of "challenges" But this language has caught me like a fish on a hook. The difference is, a fish would want to get away whereas I am trying to swim towards it more and more. The language is wonderful, the culture is wonderful and the people are out of this world. Why there is such a big kerfuffle in the USA about these amazingly caring, humble, polite people leaves me confused. They have had more torment than so many other countries and still open their hearts to people.

No, please bare with me for a minute. Thank you for your response, but this is confusing me.
On the question: "What did you do today?",
Delala is listed along with Delal. Is the proper word to use "delala", because of Sevodnya (today?).
Sevodnya ends in "A", so is that why Delala is also listed? Why not just use Delala, and be done with it?
It's confusing for me, to list both.
I'm kindly await further explanation on this.

Another thing, I am not sure about the "A" thing (it is too long ago when I first saw your comment and replied) But the endings of words is all connected to the "secret codes" that I mentioned in my other reply to you. Verbs will change their "endings" depending on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, person singular (I, you, he/she/it) or or 1st, 2nd, 3rd, person plural (we, you - there is more about this word as it could be you plural or even a polite you singular , they) Then, there are two pathways to work on these a "first pathway and a second pathway. You will hear perple talking about "conjugation ----- this is it
Then with nouns, there are things called cases. These depend on such things as ... is it the subject of the sentence? is it the object of the sentence, has it to do with possession? Has it to do with negatinve type statements? Has it to do with age?
So, back to your "A" Unlike english, everything is either masculine, feminine or neuter. Similar to a bloody table being masculine in French and a window being feminine ... yeah right ))))))))))
So, You will find that many feminine nouns will end in "a" then, you will find that if this feminine noun is "being verbed" hmmm The boy hit the duck ............................ duck is "feminine" so the verb is happening to it. ergo it is "being verbed" The boy is the subject, and the duck in the object in this simple sentence. Now, OBJECTS fall into a special category called the ACCUSATIVE CASE. (being verbed) And here the dictionary way of writing duck (утка) - see how it ends in "a"? -- will change to утку
So, "a" is only one part of the word for duck. And depending on the "case" this can change.
I guess, there's a need to study, noun cases, then also verb conjugations. As there are many more amazing little twists and turns to be discovered )))
Hope all of this helps and doesn't confuse you too much.

Yes, this helps, and I plan to re-read your comment as well as continue to study the Russian language.
I'm going to be fluent in it, when it's all over (curse words and all). That's my goal.
I truly appreciate the time you took for your detailed reply.
And I plan to learn as much as it is humanly possible for me to do, even with those little twists and turns.
      You may now say удачи.
      All is much appreciated,
      Ray

it is gender difference: delal is for masc. and delala is for fem. Also exists delalo for the middle gender referred to the subject it (ono)
