I feel like the Dodgeball episode was the best one in the series. It had the best recreation and feel of the original game. Personally, I found the soccer episode to be an interesting take on the original game, despite dropping the super-shots entirely. However, the basketball episode was rather disappointing. Honestly, the ideas ranged from "Great" to "What were they thinking!?", but I'd say it was worth watching overall.
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any place that still has it. There's 1st episode on UA-cam, but I'm not aware of any place that still has the other 12. :( ua-cam.com/video/ut2kjwMDGf4/v-deo.html
@@Senjogo dunno if you still want to watch the series, but someone on youtube named @Kunio-kunVideos has actually uploaded all the episodes (without subtitles though)
There was no hockey in the live-action series. The 2 soccer episodes only had Kunio perform 3 super-shots (and iirc, they were all just flaming balls). Instead of focusing of super-shots, the episodes gave team captains few different cards that allowed them to call for different things during the match. It was very different from the games, but kinda interesting. The basketball episode was... kinda lame. Opponents were easily beating Kunio's team by a huge margin, then they suddenly turned things around - and then a guy pulled an assault rifle and shot Riki in the leg, trying to win by default due to Kunio's team not having enough players to continue. While there were few cool fights, they were few and far between. Some were just okay, while many were comedic and... kinda dumb. The final episode had a really cool fight, tho. Iirc, Kunio faced off against a Yakuza boss with telekinetic powers who, unlike Yamada from games, didn't just grab random objects to throw at Kunio - he telekinetically levitated and used guns. Imo, the dodgeball episode was the best one overall, while the last one had the coolest fight.

@@nijunikuro Agreed. The series has some problems, but then again, all adapted doramas suffer from this.
