WONDERFUL VIDEO. First - THANK YOU BOTH for all that you do to teach us Hebrew! I know that the levels of Hebrew among your followers varies greatly. What I personally LOVE about this video - is that although there are new words (there are ALWAYS new words!) - I was able to follow it completely. In contrast (as you mention in this video) - some of your other podcasts, while very interesting - are just too advanced for me to completely follow. IF I had enough time to thoroughly study them - then I would be able to eventually understand them - but when time is at a premium - I learn BEST when I am able to understand with the aid of subtitles 90% of what you say (I listen in Hebrew - and initially read in English - and then after a few times, I am able to understand ALL of the Hebrew) - then I learn BEST and stay motivated. The CHALLENGE for you is to find the “happy medium” that pleases ALL of your followers - so by ALL means continue with more challenging videos and podcasts - but periodically including podcasts like this one with more “everyday language” is tremendously helpful and appreciated. THANKS AGAIN! - :)
I just found this a couple of weeks ago. Thank you so much!!! This is wonderful. I lived in Israel between 1977 and 1882. Since then I haven't had opportunities to practice my Hebrew even when I went to Hebrew University to study sociology.
One note for all of you Hebrew language enthusiasts: the word "magniv" is actually slang and can only be rendered as cool metaphorically. Actually, the word "ganav" literally means "thief" in Hebrew.
I follow Piece of French but since I feel I've reached a decent level in the language I'm studying the language my soul have always wanted to learn: Hebrew, and it's a lovely surprise to see you here Elsa c:
You guys are the best teachers. Every video is enjoyable, educational at just the right level and interesting, offering glimpses into Israeli life. I found you through Piece of French originally and I love both channels! Thank you, todah et merci!!

Very interesting video! It would be really nice to walk through these extraordinary trails in order to know Israel from North to South better. Thank you very much Doron and Elsa for this informative video.
Will I get in trouble with the Customs because of the walking sticks camping gear and lack of a destination hotel address? That has been known to be an issue for internationally inexperienced trackers in other countries.
Are closed toed shoes better than hiking sandals or spikes? Are you looking out for any critters specifically in areas of the hike? Here in the Midwest you could come across a rattlesnake in wooded areas but it's rare that I even see a snake as it's a very tamed land area. It's recommended to wear heavy boots and stomp your feet so they take off before you get there rather than attack. Down south it was easy to walk across snakes - scorpions were also something you had to shake your shoes out because of. Is there a first aid kit available with antihistamines specifically good to have along? Is it very cold at night in all parts of Israel?
Hi Ingrid, Some prefer heavy boots, and some do it with lighter ones or even with sandals. It's really up to your preferences. You might encounter scorpions and snakes though there aren't many. When traveling, having a first aid kit with you is always a good idea. The cold nights are a question of season and area so it's good to check the forecast before hiking. Good luck!

I don't know, you should ask in the forums related to the Israeli National Trail.
Anyway, good luck!
