I lived in Israel in 1993 and I was in Eilat to take a skin diving course. I decided to visit Sharm El Shake for the afternoon. At the time, the border crossing was through a wooden house divided in half. On the Israeli side was a clean well kept premise. Then I passed through the door to the other side. The paint was peeling from the walls and all the furniture was broken.
Interesting!
Now it is more organized and well maintained.
Love your videos. Only wish they were more frequent! They are the best intermediate Hebrew videos on the web. And, I always learn a thing or too!

Thank you, you are so cute! This June I've been to Sinai with my mife and little son. As 99% of tourists in our hotel in Dahab were Israelis, I was so happy to understand many things they were talking about in Hebrew))) Sinai is a wonderful destination, it is only pity that the air tickets from Russia are so pricey now)))

One day, can you do a video where you use the imperative form of verbs to teach us how to do something / explain steps in a process? Also, what do Israelis use most commonly: the imperative or the future (or a mixture of both) in such situations?

I love winter in Israel, yes to lower temperatures and a lot of rain (no wonder I enjoy British weather the most), and the best of all is spring, which is February - March, not hot, not too much rain and everything is blooming. Just lovely. Thanks for the video, always wondered what people do there on Sinai.

We decided to put the words only in Hebrew in the new videos(with phonetics in English) cause we think it help to understand from the context or to look for the translation after the video and like that to better memorize.

Bonjour Doron et Elsa, merci pour cette vidéo et pour vos chaînes en général qui sont magnifiques. Voici quelques pensées que cette vidéo a déclenché en moi :
Avez-vous pensé à visiter d'autres pays voisins aussi ? Impossible d'aller au Liban et en Syrie bien sûr, mais la Jordanie ça marche sans problème, vous pourrez même encore laisser la voiture à Eilat, et avec un "Jordan Pass" il y a des réductions pour visiter Petra et d'autres monuments.
Et en fait, vous pouvez même aller en Arabie saoudite. Ce serait un truc spécial qui pourra vous attirer pas mal de nouveaux abonnés sur les 2 chaînes. Ça commence juste après Aqaba, donc encore une fois pas loin d'Eilat. C'est désormais ouvert pour le tourisme (avec deux exceptions : la ville de la Mecque, qui est uniquement pour les pèlerins musulmans. A Médine, on peut monter sur le toit impressionnant de la Mosquée du Prophète, mais l'intérieur c'est juste pour les musulmans qui prient). Il y a de beaux paysages dont personne n'a entendu parler, de la Mer rouge à Haql jusqu'à la province verte de Jazan, le site UNESCO de Mada'in Salih etc. Le voile n'est plus obligatoire (mais il vaut mieux porter des vêtements longs, même pour les hommes), le pays n'est plus interdit aux Israéliens et le visa s'obtient en ligne.
Seul hic : les passeports israéliens ne sont pas encore reconnus, donc il faudra demander le visa sur un passeport européen et présenter celui-ci à la frontière. Mais encore, le fait d'être israélien ne pose plus aucun problème, il y a un instagrammeur israélien ben.tzion qui a visité avec un autre passeport. Je ne sais pas si Doron a un deuxième passeport, mais il trouvera surement un ancêtre polonais ou qqch. Ou s'il est sépharade, il y a maintenant la possibilité d'obtenir la nationalité portugaise. Même pour les déplacements réguliers en France ce sera mieux d'avoir également une nationalité de l'UE, parce qu'il faudra bientôt l'ETIAS pour les Non-européens qui visitent.

I haven't travelled a lot so far, in my life...
But 2 countries I have been to:
Israel and Egypt :-)
First to Egypt and then to Israel 💝
The trick is not to focus on single words, but on strings of 5 to 7 words. (In linguistics, these are called "Prefabricated lexical chunks" and are the way the brain stores language). In this way you will automatically capture which verb usually matches to which noun (This is called "Collocation"), and which tense the verb is most frequently used in (This is called "Colligation"). Simply repeated watching of these excellent videos will help your brain notice and recall these patterns. (This thing about chunks and repeated viewing is based on the teachings of 2 linguists: Michael Lewis and Stephen Krashen). These videos really are superb if watched repeatedly, using the subtitles in different formats.

Bonjour Jeannette, oui en effet cette partie n'était pas très claire. On peut soit se garer du côté israélien, passer la frontière à pied (et laisser sa voiture du côté israélien) et prendre un taxi; soit passer la frontière avec une voiture israélienne et voyager dans le Sinaï avec sa voiture.
