Absolutely a fantastic video of one of the most beautiful places on earth: the Negev. And yes, with the absence of distractions of civilization one experiences the divine in a way that is almost tangible. Thank you for making this video. Sometimes you have to make a video that perhaps speaks to a smaller audience but it is enormously appreciated.
Wow, it's over 30 years since I last hiked in the Negev. Still as hauntingly beautiful as ever. Thank you so much for sharing your hike. Brought back some happy memories.
I really appreciate this video, I've Always want to see the other side of Israel what it looks like. This is a hide that I'd love the scenery, the beauty, the peace and tranquility bringing a divine presence to it. I'm jamaican but my love for Israel is beyond me. Keep up the good work much appreciated God bless you.
You said it so BEAUTIFUL: "feel CLOSER to the DIVINE than ever before - even amongst lots of people". GOD is really looking down on you and HE REALLY is smiling down on you !!!! Wonderful !!!!!!!!! Those mountains DO only say ONE THING: GOD IS GREAT, THE ONLY CREATOR, THE RULER OF THE UNIVERSE AND OUR SOULS !!!!
I remember a Kibbutz trip into the Negev in the late 1970s to Ra's Muhammad. Oren, you forgot to mention the wonderous night sky and how brilliant the stars are from horizon to horizon. Coming from an urban area with light pollution, this was one of the most lasting impressions I had laying in the sleeping bags looking out into the cosmos and only imaging what our ancestors thought thousands of years ago.
Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
I am much more comfortable hiking in the Northern part of Israel (I lived for year in Afula many years ago) but this was beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing the landscape. I started watching your videos after seeing your documentary about living outside when you were at school, it was very good! (Some of my good friends live in Haifa, so I have seen the valley where you lived.) We usually do a lot of hiking when we visit, so we may need to add this to the list when we can finally visit again! Thank you for the beautiful video, even if it did make me homesick!
Shalom what a great video! Loved the valleys and moon scaped rocks. very pretty and a great location for movies. Its like you were both on another planet. Todah Rabah Thanks so much. Nehedar!!!
Thank you Oren! On a gap year with Masa right now and looking to do this hike on one of my free weekends. Considering making Aliyah I love this country!
Great video, makes me want to pack my bag right away. I got almost lost near Crater Ramon once. Just left the car for a quick photo-walk to the rim at sunset and a little further and further. The way back looked so different since I did not pay attention to the way (there was no trail) while looking for a photo opportunity. Then darkness came, no phone signal, no water. That was scary - lesson learned - but I got the photo :-)
This hiking and videoing video works for me. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Thanks for your sincerity Oren and your comment on where you find the divine. It brings back memories of a crowed visit to the Church of the Nativity and a tour group that tried to force its way in front of us to get into the grotto before a mass began. It was my own little international incident; not love thy neighbor. Sad.
T.I. - SHALOM -- GOOD MORNING!! GOOD TIME NOW TO GO FOR A HIKE I AM UP EARILY .. WOW,,. .. LAST TIME I WAS IN THE DESSERT THIS WAS N.NEGEV..YEARS AGO I WAS IN THE (IDF) ARMY YOU CAN SEE SAND FOR MILES IT WAS GREAT.. LATER I WENT TO A KIBBUTZ LOTAN ,, SPENT SOME TIME THERE HELPING OUT AND LIVING THERE.. THIS VIDEO IS GREAT.. TODAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In 1986 I got together with 5 other friends and made Passover (my favorite holiday) seder in the desert. We took the bus from Jerusalem to Sde Boker and hiked out to Ain Avdat in the Zin desert. We laid out a blue bedsheet as our table and read the Haggodot by moonlight and candlelight. It felt like the first Exodus. Best seder of my life and I'll never forget.
You took the words out of my mouth! I was never outdoorsy until I visited Israel. My tour guide took us hiking a lot and I was hooked! Way more spiritual than buildings made by humans.
I lived and worked in the Negev from 1980-82 at a military airbase which quickly became a tourist airport for Eilat. (Who could predict?) Echoing "simsalb's comments, this brought back wonderful memories of living, working, and hiking in the lower Negev. Keep up the great work, Oren. (Get yourself on Rumble.)
This has to be one of my favorite videos you have made! When we did travel, we always went off the beaten path and away from crowds and tourists. Lovely to see your desert. I can't believe you guys walked that far out there! Wow, you really have to be prepared. Thank you.
BEAUTIFUL DESERT! Thank You Brother Oren for Your Wonderful presentation with the Wonderful Music (specially the piano) - there is no deflection in the Desert, so good for clearing the mind - i am sure KING DAVID loved the Desert also - Yalla Bye👑💖👑
Spectacular scenery, great photography. I feel as you, I need nature to bring forth my spirituality. I am now too old to do such a hike, so I am happy you took us along because this would be exactly what I would want to do if I could.
Your tent-story production is a good one I remember from last year. Another you could quote is your caution about visiting Israel during the Summer: "Don't."
Great video. The open and blue sky. How many Israeli's in history looked at the same sky, or heard the Word. It might be interesting if you noted some possible history of the places you walked through. The people or the historical reference.
Great video. I like to see nature and hike and the only views we get of your area are from movies like Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia so it is nice to see your land in real time/boots on the ground. If you get the chance to visit Masada National Park and go to the top that would be very interesting. Just like Canada in the deep winter you really need to know how to survive and have proper clothing and food and emergency supplies when traveling. And no we don't have polar bears roaming around and eating us. LOL.
These visuals are so beautiful. I love the views of the mountains and the desert. Most people just see the dryness and the barrenness and look no further. But there is amazing life and beauty locked up in these places. Thanks for this video, Oren.
Very interesting..I love the wild land views.. I'm sure not many people outside Israel like myself have ever seen anything like this video..I saw in another video where u walked with 3 others that u also saw carvings of 2 people.. I was wondering if people ever inhabited these areas.. beautiful park reserve.. thank u for the video
Great video Oren and very good idea doing it. Please continue. I agree whole heartedly that nature itself is where human feels spiritually connected. And desert like in Zin Park or in New Mexico are more special.
I was with Walk About Love a couple of years back most of the way from Eilat to Jerusalem. Amazing hike, wonderful people. Great presentation here...I would add only that there are a lot of shady spots early and late in the day in March/April, and with acacia trees etc. there were moments when it looked like a garden, not a desert.
I like the geography. I would be interested to know about the gear you use guiding and hiking. I would also love a series on animals &/or plants of the Bible. As a young guy in church I used to gaze at hyraxes and jackals etc...in the back of my Bible during dull messages. Seeing a hoopoe was one of many highlights...though few Israelis I asked knew what I was inquiring about. I just heard that they found an amethyst with the balm of Gilead inscribed. My biggest disappointment in Israel was the pollution, especially at the Sea of Galilee. Keep up the good work.
I watched the whole video and enjoyed it! It gives more context of the place rather than just snapshots here and there. Honestly, this is not a place I would like to visit, but I’m glad you did it so I do not have to! :) By the way, there are some video artifacts (especially with the wide angle shots).
Wow!!! Amazing video! How could I have missed it? Thank you! 😊👍 As an "Eilati" I felt right at home and I will have go on a trip to that area soon. Why don't you come down south to the Eilat Mountains to make another video like this (and perhaps include some Red Sea underwater footage)?
I watched your video and camping experience from the link you provided- loved it and this hiking video too!- not boring at all, very beautiful areas- thanks for making and sharing with us on UA-cam 😀
Thank you for the visit to the Negev, I can't imagine being on a walk in that terrain nowadays it's difficult enough in town now I have approached old age, apart from lack of water I would of worried about sprained ankles and no phone signal for help. I loved your university video living in the tent secretly under the Campus which is when I first started following your educational videos. Take care Oren and long may your energy carry on. 👍
i been to Israel, sadly I never seen the deserts.I only seen the lush green mountains and valleys............And I only seen 1 Mcdonalds in the highway heading to Gallilee.......

סרטון מעולה! אנחנו בדיוק יורדים לדרום בקרוב💪🏻💪🏻

🤗 THANK YOU FOR THE TOUR …on my way to my 80s myself 😅 SO GLAD YOU COULD TAKE ME ALONG 😍😍😍
Exactly my thoughts...... our combined age is 137... so we travel through the videos of "real" hikers.
add another 75 years from an old lady in New Zealand, no desert here!
Stunning landscape, the ibex is definitely the highlight!
You said it so BEAUTIFUL: "feel CLOSER to the DIVINE than ever before - even amongst lots of people". GOD is really looking down on you and HE REALLY is smiling down on you !!!! Wonderful !!!!!!!!! Those mountains DO only say ONE THING: GOD IS GREAT, THE ONLY CREATOR, THE RULER OF THE UNIVERSE AND OUR SOULS !!!!
not only beautiful also knowing that King David walked there makes it more amazing

Deuteronomy 32:10

Absolutely beautiful, I had no idea. Also an amazing water-finding talent
Wow privileged to have the full place to yourselves - Oasis in middle of the Dessert 🙌🏼

I could even listen your breathing
I didn't watch the whole video yesterday, but I did all of it today :) Thousand thanks!! Keep them coming
Lol
This brings back such memories of my days hiking in the negev and exactly where you are. That was over 40 years ago. My dream is to return
I love hiking videos from Israel, I watch those regularly on other channels. So hikes can only be a nice addition to your channel.
I’ve been to that aroma and gas station lol. I ate lunch there 3 years ago. Have fun!
Thank you Oren! On a gap year with Masa right now and looking to do this hike on one of my free weekends. Considering making Aliyah I love this country!
Beautiful video, Oren. Thank you very much. Feels a little like walking there myself👍.
That is a beautiful hike something I'd really like to do.
Toda Raba
Great video, makes me want to pack my bag right away.

Thanks for taking us along.
Awesome views, great description for how the valley was created as well.
Ibex on the rocks! Love the geology
Thank you for this peak at Israeli nature.
Great video. Absolutely Enjoyed it. 👍

I know its the middle of the desert, but not a piece of trash anywhere. A very beautiful place.
That's low standard

Such a beautiful vast area, I love this opportunity to see the desert. Thank you for sharing.
Was a very nice video, enjoyed the walk with you guys and loved the Geology Lesson
Very good idea, and we watched the whole video! 👍🏼
A view of the sunrise and sunset, and stars at night might be interesting.
Thanks Oren. There are some great hiking trails in the world, even Wisconsin has awesome trails. I much appreciate all your videos. :-)
Do you mean the great state of Wisconsin??
I lived and worked in the Negev from 1980-82 at a military airbase which quickly became a tourist airport for Eilat. (Who could predict?) Yes more of these please! Interesting to see what Israelites pack in their backpacks 😳
A package of "bamba", for to get back the salt we lost through sweating.
That was so beautiful! Thank you 🙂
First video where you did not mention Wisconsin :) Desert is beautiful, looks a lot like Utah or Nevada !
Very interesting - the landscape is so opposite to our South Island of New Zealand. Thanks
Hi Oren I like your Hiking Video very much.. Entertaining and informativ like always. Thank you.
Beautiful landscapes 😍
No joke I did something very similar and started from McDonald's a few years ago. This is great to remember the trip
Fantastic vid. Loved the pakal coffee.
I’ve got to get back after my 70th birthday next year!
Last time I saw landscape like that, it was photographed by the Perseverance Rover !
Absolutely beautiful so Serene calming and relaxing beautiful colors in the desert thanks for sharing
I liked this video so much that I shared it.
It's just beautiful.
At 66, I'm afraid my serious hiking days are behind me, but I loved seeing this video.
You can do it.
Heck I'm 55. I hike the forested mountains of North Idaho USA.
Thank You!!!! Finally someone showing Israel. I'm so sick ofJerusalem videos. Finally seeing the beautiful country instead! Keep it up, we love it.
Thank you for recording this beautiful landscape.
I like very much this adventure! I hiked the Machtesh many years ago, but I am now 65, so this is no longer in my possibilities.
Love your video's...thank you...
Remember, water can be found in low areas with lots of vegetation.
Dig down in a few areas. Potential water sources.
Thank u Oren for taking us along...

All Your videos are Great Brother!Because it's personal.Keep going &G-D Bless Israel Forever!
You most beautiful video by far! I’ve camped un Utah dozens of times and now understand the comparisons. Shockingly similar in many ways. Great job.
Thank you. Sounds good to me! And yes, beautifully spiritual.
Excellent - do more of these. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. The open and blue sky. How many Israeli's in history looked at the same sky, or heard the Word. It might be interesting if you noted some possible history of the places you walked through. The people or the historical reference.
The desert is soooo beautiful; many thanks for sharing; appreciate 🇯🇲
Fantastic. Please more like this (places off the normal tour routes). The desert can be so beautiful and yet dangerous as you said.
You guys would love it here
