John I had my 4-5 yr old grandson out on mine bouncing around the farm lanes and single track between the rice paddies here in Thailand. I put a thick 'throw cushion' on the backbone rack before he jumped on, but what I really want to share with you is that I bought a little set of flip-up foot pegs that I mounted on the crash bars, clamp mount, very light and easily adjustable. Boy what a difference, he went crazy loving it and those two pegs 5-10 folded our ability for bounce and a little more speed as his feet gave him control - thrills galore at 25- 30 kph on those sandy dips and swells.
I've become extremely interested in these lately. It must have something to do with getting old...lol! Thanks for the info!
I'm 70 and I just bought one.
