What a beautiful song! RIP Stuart Adamson 🥀
I never saw a video. I adore this album. Same as I did every album by Big Country. Stuart sounds as lovely as always. Thank you for posting it,
Me too!
Great album (as always) from BC. Another great number. What a wordsmith the big man was.-
" All the dreams I thought we shared, were mine alone" - what a clever line.
Stay alive.
😊..
@@brianbigcountry Hi Brian, wondered where you were!
Take care
See you again somewhere!!
Happy Valentines Day!
I just noticed that this is a remix, with opening guitars boosted almost to distortion and the final lyric "bye! bye!" inexplicably removed. "Amazing".
Lori says to Billy
We’ve been working for a long time on this story
Trying to find a happy ending
We looked so long and hard for it
Maybe there just isn’t one… See you
She says I made excuses all the time
They filled up half my life
But there weren’t any reasons
For the way you treated me
Now if you’ll excuse me please… See you
All the dreams I thought we shared
Were mine alone
And if only you could see in you
The things I see in you
But you’re too scared to look… See you
She says compatibility is people who communicate
Who share their hopes and fears
And co-exist in harmony
That doesn’t sound like you and me… See you
All the dreams I thought we shared
Were mine alone
And if only you could see in you
The things I see in you
But you’re too scared to look… See you
Billy says I don’t know why
I took so long to listen to you
Guess I’m stubborn with my heart
I’m sorry you were right all along
You’re not what I want… See you
And if only you could see in you
The things I see in you
But you’re too scared to look
I said if only you could see in you
The things I see in you
But you’re too scared to look
I guess I’ll see you
Bye bye
I guess I’ll see you
Should have arranged this one as a duet with Eddi Reader. Still a good song and not typical Big Country.
Big country,S best
I remember hearing this on the radio once to my surprise. Tis a radio friendly song with clumsy sounding strings and not a distinctively BC style tune, but the lyric is not bad at all, at all. Thinking you see something in someone that isn't there...so the sooner its 'bye, bye' the better, though at first you thought you knew she was kindred. Can't reach out to people with affection in the hope of changing them for the better either. Not hard to see why SA wrote this song. But he doesn't make it seem sad/hurt.
It's not sad because it's something about the melody that keeps you in the middle of them splitting up without taking sides. Honesty.
too cool!
thanks!
Ahh such a beautiful ballad by this often top notch band, how comes it went almost unnoticed. It sounds a bit Morrisey-like, but I'm glad it's not he who's singing here.
Sounds to me like the opposite of Morrissey, who is a nasty little shit with a tiny heart, twisted mind and little or no talent.
Not a video only audio, being on UA-cam that is unfairly misleading 😕
