While we're waiting for the promo for the DLC to start I figured I'd knock these out of the way so they don't interrupt all my usual 2-4 daily videos :) Have a great one guys!
Gark ironskin would be an amazing legendary lord! A heavily armored ogre legendary lord charging through the battlefield would be great against those ranged races.
for me personally i would say he would need a unique faction fpor himself, he has such powerfull and unique units that it would brake the game a bit if every ogre could just recruite them, so either he gets his own little faction or they make it a little bit like on the tomb kings for arcan he has access to some vampire count units, so his legendary lord is the only one who could recruit this units(it could also be me that my brain goes a bit delullu right now, but in my memory ghark has a quit good pool of heavy ogres)
In my opinion Ogres deserve one more DLC. LL: Ghark Ironskin LH: Braugh the Slavelord (Shared with Vampire Counts, maybe?) GL: Great Hunter / Master Hunter GH: Gnoblar Head Hancho Units: Gnoblar Manbiters, Gnoblar Flingers, Mastadon (referenced by two items in game, which could be an uncorrupted Mammoth), Gnoblar Rinox Riders, Ironguts (Ironfists) FLC LH: Great-King Bezer (?) FLC LL: Hunter Characher? Jhared the Red?
Well, I doubt that Games Workshop and Creative Assembly would have to think about making another legendary lord Ogre character, Legendary hero, and the generics of lords & heroes, also for the units as well, once the army roster book is completed, and it looks they have to spice it up more. Legendary Lord: Ghark Ironskin? Legendary Hero: Bruagh the slave lord? Generic Lord: Huntmaster? Generic Hero: Gnoblar head honcho? Units: Melee infantry: Gnoblars Manbiters, Gnoblar Flingers Monstrous Cavalry: Gnoblar Rhinox Riders Monstrous Infrantry: Ironguts (Armored Ironfists) Monster: Mastodon ( Uncorrupted or corrupted by chaos ) FLC Legendary Lord: Great king bezer? FLC Legendary Hero: Jhared the Red (Beast Taming Master)
There is a mod that adds the Ironskin Tribe, along with a slave trading mechanic: Capture slaves in battle, Trade slaves to chorfs for armaments, Use armaments to upgrade your units like the greenskin scrap mechanic, or use armaments to upgrade you unit (lile the Chao Warriors upgrade mechanic) into Ironskin tribe varieties that are covered in armor, but have a slightly lower model count (18 as opposed to 24). The Ironskin mod itself is really well done, and CA could (with compensation to the mod maker) probably just rip the mod, clean it up to official release standards, and release it as a FLC.
I agree. Charge us 5 bucks for the mod and give the mod maker 45% of sales or a flat out one time buy. I know not everyone has disposable income, but I'll gladly pay to upgrade exceptional mods into base game because it makes me sad when a heavy modded campaign crashes lol.
I've read on some Warhammer wikis about creatures called Fangweasels, and how Gnoblars are both preyed upon by them and use their teeth as weapons. I mean, if the Blood vultures got in, maybe some Gnoblar giant weasel mini-cavalry?
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that manbiters are not a unit in this DLC where they are going to be maneater orge factions running around not having manbiters for them really makes effective thematic armies really difficult especially when these gnoblars are better than their normal counterparts particularly in a game that makes gnoblars near useless in any battle even against chaff spears.
Here's what I'd like to to see. Legendary lord: Ghark Ironskin. A monstrous cavalry legendary lord for the Ogres. Legendary hero Braugh the slavelord. A support hero who has a summon ability to summon units of undead periodically once he reaches certain kill milestones. Lord: Gnoblar head honcho Hero: Gnoblar honcho Unit 1: Cave drake. A large Wywern/Dragon like flying SEM mentioned in the lore to live in the ogre inhabited mountains. Unit 2: Ironskin Bulls. Heavily armored Ogre bulls of the Ironskin tribe (lower tier Ironguts basically) Unit 3: Gnoblar manbiters. A bit more elite Gnoblars in light armour with either flails or Sword&shield Unit 4: Gnoblar Flingers. Tier 0 dedicated ranged Gnoblars. Equivalent to Skavenslave slingers Unit 5: Maneaters with some type of anti large weapon. Could be Lustria or Araby themed.
May as well do a Ironskin Irongut and have a super heavy aspiring champion style Irongut unit rather than something in the middle. DEFINATELY NEED THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MANEATER
5:50 - i think a major problem is that chaos factions just have more hero characters to work with in the lore and they also released during the game where the model is to have more LHs
I wish more people's talked about Jared the red, he's make a cool hunter lord, but ogres definitely have enough to have a small character pack I would say
I’ll happily pay for Shielded Black Orcs if they finally created a mechanic where they can switch their load out in the middle of the battle. Or some REALLY impressive new model assets and animations.
I once won a 6th edition tournament playing with a gnoblar horde. It worked surprisingly well because no one was prepared for it XD As for things to add to the gnoblars, they can add a skewerslinger, a different version of scraplauncher but with a bolt thrower. It was the original version of the scraplauncher, its conversion was even shown in white dwarf
What about Hrothyogg as a legendary hero, he had a great mini way back in the days. And he won the eating contest against Golfag by devouring an entire halfling village.
Gnoblar characters and more Gnoblar units sounds really fun. They won't be the most useful, but running around with a full stack of Gnoblars lead by a Gnoblar Head Honcho sounds too fun to pass up.
Any word about the missing magic lores for the Ogres? Death and Heavens, namely? There's been a mod for that since the release of Immortal Empires or so, but I'd really like those lores to be added officially.
I would absolute love more gnoblar units and i know its not in the table top, but i would die for a fire belly legendary Lord and unique firemouth magic lore
Could they receive some free units like a RoR maneaters for every next dlc race? Bretonnian ogres, chatayan ogres, dawi ogres, tomb kings ogres, etc? We already have basically Nurgle, Eshin and Empire after all.
Of all the dlcs for all 3 games this one is the one I love the most. But it hasn't released yet you say. Doesn't matter, I love Khrone so any reason to play khrone again is good enough for me.
In the tabletop- there are 2 subsections of ogors, one is the standard guys and the other is the winter guys, the winter ones have more mounts for the characters, the frost lord(tyrants) have the mammoths and stonehorns as options, the hunters also have the same options, both factions have the rhinox as cav unit options
Really like the idea of character packs, whether it be LL's, lords, heroes or all. I'd also like to see unit packs for races. Maybe a pack of 12 with 1-2 units per races.
I think it would be perfect if the Ogre Kingdoms got a new type of DLC, a character pack that would include: 2 Legendary lords: Ghark Ironskin and Braugh the Slavelord 1 Legendary hero: Great-King-Lord Bezer(Gnoblar character) 1 Generic lord: Hunter Lord 1 Generic hero: Gnoblar hero Basically, something like a classic Lord Pack, but instead of 5 units, we would get a 2nd Legendary Lord.
Love these dont care what anyone says. also next DLC speculation. even though you have done them, knowing what we know now and have seen can change ideas and plans.
I dont like the black orc variant sword and Shield is within the dlc. No new unit type and why pay to access the same unit as the base game but with a sword and Shield? So for the greenskin its 4 units you get not 5.
Yeah, it's the worst way they went about with the Black Orcs. If Armed To Da Teef isn't gonna be a thing, then they should give us the dual hand weapon variant as well.
The only other Legendary Hero style character I can think of is Katerina de Hansebourg, a human that got adopted by her father's Ogre bodyguard (who later became an Ogre Tyrant) due to circumstances. She could either buff gnoblers, buff sabretusks and/or increase loot percentages. I dunno how canon she is though.
'Braugh Slavelord' There's a guy on the forums whose gonna get real butthurt you brought him up. That being said, I want him more than Ghark. He can be one of the hybrid factions, maybe even give him Undead Ogres (And maybe Greenskins that he can share with the undead factions and Azahg.).
I do want ogre lords to have mounts! Ogres with blunderbus or shogun (grapeshot ) cannons that can hold their own maybe use a cannon as a giant club afterwards. Maybe it can be another gift from the chaos dwarves Make a generic lord that shoots something strong. Maybe an ogres that holds mortars or shoots big motars Haha
It's a little disappointing that Golg is just a normal ogre with a neat backpack. The focus seems to be on Khorne, I fear. No idea why the greenskins got a dlc. Maybe because their missing units were easy to toss in? I'm still hoping for Vampire stuff, but I think they're waiting for Nagash
I would love a legendary lord that buffs the crap out of knobblars. The memes from beating down some of the most fearsome foes on the battlefield with trash knobblars would be epic
I think they should elevate the ninja ogre to LH status. They experimented with such units (Krell, Green Knight, original G&F) and LH status is the best to keep them "competitive" with items and skills.
Its an9ther example of CAs odd planning, but now ogres havs bruisers it would have been good for Tamurkhan to get an ogre cheiftain and some more ogre units since in lore he got them and the chaos dwarfs.
I am a Beastmen man 😅 But I am thinking of adding the Ogres to my repertoire. Those big boys seems more easily to paint and love their bigger models and lore so much (talking about AOS moddels, have to look for the Fantasy models.
They should make the Ninja Ogre a legendary hero. He could be unlocked by defeating a special Cathay caravan that the Ninja Ogre was protecting on his way from the Far East
Being completely honest, I don't know how popular Ogres are, and I don't know how popular they are gonna be after OoD launches. I'm also not a loremaster for Fantasy Warhammer, WH2 got me into the IP as a whole so I don't know 8th ed like you do, but from a gameplay/game design perspective Ogres being what Mr. Maneater plans to make them is genuinely cool and it would make sense to get more mount options to really make them flexible and adaptible. You've spoken of other mercenaries in the past with the Dogs of War, and I don't know much about that either. But generally you want a temporary resource to either be very generalized or very specialized and if we make the Dogs specialized then the Ogres should be generalized. It makes the resources more likely to be used.
Well, the trouble with popularity is the ogres havn't been particularly fun to play across an entire campaign and feel like they are not fully realised in game. The camps/settlements dynamic feels particularly bad. I love the ogres, but playing as them is such a chores, so why would I?
I think ogre mounts are gonna end up as a mod vs games workshop either way I do hope to see it sooner rather than later there's been a lot of ogre stuff lately even seeing timurkhan yes I butchered his name but still i think its cool 2 see i hope we see mounts soon
Honestly? When it comes to 'True Horde' I think that Ogres aren't the one that need that the most: Khorne does. Skarbrand SHOULD NOT be holding settlements. Skarbrand shouldn't care about settling anything really. If anything, Skarbrand should be tearing down settlements and leaving them to a vassal like Nakai and those settlements should just be armed to the teeth with a garrison of decent Khorne groups that level up their Garrison over time to make them much harder to assail than the Nakai's followers. Valkia? Makes sense she might be more settlement focused. Skarbrand? Nakai at best. Skulltaker? I pray he is NOT a faction that takes settlements. For the Ogres, I truly think that they as a whole should be a 'build tall and roam wide' faction. Greasus should be staying in the Mountains and building up his wealth, using his camps as either additional fortresses to help secure his land or as a wandering money maker (Not only do I believe that camps should be able to move, but I truly think if anyone hires your mercenaries you should get part of their upkeep as income, maybe even have relationship bonuses for those who hire them?) and the bounty system should give you a more active tracker of where people are, maybe a teleport to their last known location over the course of a turn because right now it feels like I can't be bothered to even look at the bounties still as they aren't worth my time. For Skrag he feels like he should be similar, moved back to the mountains and meant to purge it of outside influence while sending out parties to gather meat abroad for some kind of 'Feast' mechanic that is more faction-wide than army-to-army. Making Greasus defensive and Skrag offensive would make them more playable and give a bit of variety. For Gark I could see him being a great DLC Character Pack where he might be a Camp and Horde only faction. He still makes camps that can be used as respawn points, sells his mercenaries to Chaos Factions (For the same upkeep and relationship bonus), and has immunity to Chaos Corruption so he can be the 'Chaos Ogre' Co-Op faction. No meat mechanic needed, just have him capture slaves which you can use on a side panel to trade to the Chorfs or other Chaos factions for relationship benefits, army buffs, or special equipment that you otherwise can't get. Lastly, for this new DLC Lord, I just pray that his contract system actually teleports your army similar to Oxyotl...Seriously, the mercenary contracts might be DoA if it says "You have to make your territory, then be given a contract to hoof it across the world to fight in a war for money" as it has the same issue the Bounty system has: It isn't worth chasing down something like that if I have so much to do at home. I am not going to risk my army, or my territory's security, or trespassing penalties with an AI so eager to fight me just to get a sum of Gold I can make without any difficulty at all.
I am disappointed that Ogres aren't following the example Wood Elves and Beastmen set, by players who own both the og race pack and their lord pack gain a 4th LL.
I dont want much more from this. Just those extra characters and the gnoblars (feels weird to not have manbiters, but again, they might be hiding in the unqiue roster spot or update interrim zone.) I try to keep modest expectations, i just want things to feel complete without glaring absences.
3:40 - No, Ghark Ironskin needs to start in the Mountains of Mourn where his tribe is. Toss Grimgor into Cathay to make room, add some other threats in the Mourns (Josef Bugman, Bohemond, Sayl) and have him help Greasus hold down the Mourns for the Ogres. Also, for better units, one can go for the lore mentions of Frost Dragons (who could be shared with Kislev obviously) in the Mountains of Mourn and covered in the Storm of Magic supplement, or uncorrupted Mammoths.
Please can we say "things that could be added" rather than describing them as 'missing'? I know this isn't your meaning, but IMO the latter implies that it's GW's responsibility to include every character, unit and beast from every lore snippet ever, from the way some people interpret it. Personally, I am happy if Ogres go right to the bottom of the priority list after this one - there's stuff that could make it (and they could expand the lore a bit further) but roster-wise, they're in a good place.
If you’re hoping for a couple mount variations and gnoblar variations as “easily justified” DLC then you have some really low expectations of the DLC. These units he said are not necessarily but could be lower effort things that COULD come out later as FLC. The alternative couple legendary lords sound interesting but were not proposed as free. He said they could be part of character packs like 2’s DLC.
@@feasibilyheretical Low on units, mediocre heroes, over focus on chaos. The real concern I have though is the embargo. Putting it a day/two before the drop is worrying as hell and it seems like they've kept a lot of the info incredibly close to the chest with an almost "surprise" drop date. It might be great, but 8 months is a long time between releases for a game like this that's "Supposed" to live off updates and we have next to no idea what's after this outside speculation. I hope it's good, I just don't think I'm comfortable giving CA the benefit of the doubt.
While we're waiting for the promo for the DLC to start I figured I'd knock these out of the way so they don't interrupt all my usual 2-4 daily videos :) Have a great one guys!
Are there any units left for the ogre kingdoms, I wish there was another legendary lord or hero who is a Missile specialist from the army roster?
Gark ironskin would be an amazing legendary lord! A heavily armored ogre legendary lord charging through the battlefield would be great against those ranged races.

I would really like an Ironskin DLC.
It always bothered me that there is not a single Ogre unit that is actually well armored.
In my opinion Ogres deserve one more DLC.

What races they gonna cover for Slaanesh? Slaanesh, Dark elves, High Elves and maybe Wood Elves?
I think the lords don't have mounts to not further overshadow their mediocres ll
The best Gnoblars to add would Nippon, Ind and Khuresh
Doesn't think there'll be an other DLC - GBoG makes a case for a DLC
Still think the iron dragon should get up armored ogres in his roster since he should have some on his retainer
You forget the armor ogres.
frankly I think Ironguts should get an uparmored variant. Both visually and mechanically. Trade their attack power for more defense. Stuff like that.
In Warhammer 3 he'd be Braugh Laborerlord.
What do you think about yetis?
Really ahould have gotten Manbiters this DLC The New Maneaters should just be an ROR
not sure which army book but 1 of the ogre books mentioned a fang weasel
@4:00 That woman has a "don't talk to me or my very large son" face.
Next khorn missing units : khorn chariot and a blood speaker hero
What if Ghark was a legendary Hero/Lord the chaos dwarfs could get
I want to see ghark so bad!!!!
Gnoblar dlc let’s go
there is no satisfying some people.
every one existed about the goodies in the new DLC...but TGBOG, that what we don't get.
Can we finally get a lord that rides a frost horn or thunder tusk 😢 please oh please
What they’re missing? How about Ogre units that actually win engagements. I’m looking at you, Ironguts.
Also, for better units, one can go for the lore mentions of Frost Dragons (who could be shared with Kislev obviously) in the Mountains of Mourn and covered in the Storm of Magic supplement, or uncorrupted Mammoths.
aren't Bruisers missing?
They could be good flc
Please can we say "things that could be added" rather than describing them as 'missing'? I know this isn't your meaning, but IMO the latter implies that it's GW's responsibility to include every character, unit and beast from every lore snippet ever, from the way some people interpret it.
Personally, I am happy if Ogres go right to the bottom of the priority list after this one - there's stuff that could make it (and they could expand the lore a bit further) but roster-wise, they're in a good place.
No different varianted Maneaters? Yep not buying or supporting CA anyway.
No way they introduce a character call the Slave Lord lol
That will continue to be missing*
The price of the model is irrelevant, recast/3D print your models. Dirt cheap and GW never gets a penny. Everyone wins!
They could add literally zero units or lords for the ogres and I be happy as long as they fix their terrible campaign mechanics.
Kinda silly to say that all of this would come free down the line, you named enough content to easily justify another DLC
This dlc is going to be disappointing. Calling it right now 😢
This DLC is giving me SoC vibes
How?
@@feasibilyheretical Low on units, mediocre heroes, over focus on chaos. The real concern I have though is the embargo. Putting it a day/two before the drop is worrying as hell and it seems like they've kept a lot of the info incredibly close to the chest with an almost "surprise" drop date.
It might be great, but 8 months is a long time between releases for a game like this that's "Supposed" to live off updates and we have next to no idea what's after this outside speculation.
I hope it's good, I just don't think I'm comfortable giving CA the benefit of the doubt.
I really dont get CA's decisions. Ogres really needed a some work, but khorne an greenskins? Come on, we need Norsca and Bretonnia massive reworks
