    You can get deeper into the fluctuations and inflections of the words to how it’s pronounced. Maeayo = mâ-eâ-yó .

      the important thing is that you make the effort to use it, even if it is not perfect. we should continue to use local languages because they are so cool, interesting, and part of culture!

    My grandparents are speaking Akeanon when having vacation on Malay. I can understand but in speaking it, don't count
    me in, cuz it's one of the hardest language in the Philippines. The pronunciation is kind a relaxing at first but it is a total nightmare, btw Thanks for this broh, still proud of my Akeanon Heritage:)

    • @firthm2
      @firthm2  4 роки тому +1

      Haha, yes, it will take a lifetime. By the way, scientifically, they are LANGUAGES, not dialects. The word dialect is old terminology and not recommended by academics anymore. Akeanon is a language, not a dialect. If you do not believe me, ask a Professor of Linguistics or someone who has a PhD in linguistics. 8-)

    Nabas, Buruanga, and Malay tongues are actually dialects of Karay-A Language and not Aklanon. They speak almost the same as bordering towns of Antique.
    Aklanon language is so unique that you can draw a line to which exactly it is spoken as native tongue. We live in the borders of Ibajay and Nabas and we can clearly hear how the two language Aklanon and Karay-A is distinct from one another.
    People from Kalibo, Batan, etc would not understand someone who speak Nabasnon or Buruanganon unless he is already exposed to the said language before.
    This is how we speak it here in the Farwestern Aklan which is actually a Karay-A dialect versus the actual Aklanon.
    Maeapit - _Rapit_
    Maeayo - _Rayo_
    Maeaw ay - _Sayod_
    Maeain - _Kalain_
    Nagbahoe ro ang ueo - _Nagbahol kong ulo_
    Haehae imo saewae - _Luga mong sarwal_
    Ro anwang gaeugaeog sa eugan eugan - _Ang karbaw naga lugalog sa lam-aw._
    Malaynon is slowly adapting or shifting to Aklanon words because the municipality is currently having a huge Aklanon speaking immigrants from eastern Aklan.

    • @firthm2
      @firthm2  2 роки тому

      Oh...thank you for the clarification. That is very useful to know about the distinct languages in Aklan province, including a Karay-a part in far western Aklan. And also interesting that Aklanon-speaking people are migrating to the west and mixing
