  • Husqvarna has such an interesting and long past from 1689 producing muskets and armaments, then producing bicycles from 1903 to a fully fledged motorcycle manufacturer in 1918. Their ownership also moved from Husqvarna armaments to Electrolux to Gagiva to BMW and now they part of the KTM stable. However in all this time and all the history one thing remained constant and that was that Husqvarna were always at the forefront of off-road competition.
This brand won championships in pretty much every category they entered into, from MX to Baja to Enduro and so on and they won on the international and world championship stage all the way back from the 1960's and were always a threat.
So it is no wonder this Husqvarna 701 Enduro is a very special machine with all this experience, technology brought along and to top it off now, combined strength of KTM, sister company and shared development and components such as engine, frame etc...

It won’t run out of power at highway speeds. The speed limit is 80 mph in Nevada so everyone’s doing 90. I can keep up easily. Last year I rode from Portland Oregon to Tuktoyaktuk and back, that’s 6,000 miles. Only issue was I had to replace the chain to get home.

I just picked up a Husqvarna Norden 901, and I think the 701 Enduro will be the perfect compliment to the middle weight 901. Id love one for riding an hour to the local offroad park and hitting the single track before heading back home.
Its crazy that my 2022 Honda CRF300L Rally weighs more than the 701 Enduro with 1/3 the power.

I have the opposite issue with my Honda😂
      (2023 CRF450RX) it’s 106kg and 57HP !! But it’s only a 5 speed .. and although it’s incredible on dirt- you can only cover 10 perhaps 15km on tarmac !

Amazing ride and review. I was not expecting such an elaborate breakdown. I much prefer this to the standard pick up and bike and see how it does

Great review and strengthening the case (if that was needed!). I have a 690 in the US and love it. Unfortunately I don’t live there.

It is good enough for highway speeds, it can cruise forever at 80-90 mph and it will reach top speed of 120 mph if the tires allow that. I find it the only "do it all" bike available on the market now. Not talking about KTM 690 and Gas Gas 700 as these are the same thing, just re-branded. That tall windscreen looks like nice improvement for highway but in more technical terrain I think I would be constantly hitting it with my helmet.

Do a comparison of that vs the 2-stroke Maico 700 from Germany in a Enduro

Was there in 1995,followed by a trip round the lake to Rofors to the Husaberg factory, where all the ex-Husky engineers went....I still own a Husaberg today!

Easy way to tell is not an ADV, putting kms on it will mean more frequent servicing, however valve checks are recommended by husqvarna every service
