  • The parents of an autistic woman who died and was essentially ‘melted’ to a couch have bonded out of jail and have been indicted on second degree murder charges. The woman was found in such decrepit conditions, a coroner who responded to the scene reportedly couldn’t eat for a week. An investigative reporter in Baton Rogue, LA lays out the disturbing details he’s uncovered since he broke the story and also explains what is next.

I bet that poor guy also has recurring nightmares after witnessing that horrific scene! And he probably has a young daughter too, which would make things even more heartbreaking! 😥 I actually knew a guy in Arizona who was a coroner, and made a living for years collecting bodies and taking them to the city morgue ..... but he told me that one of THE most gruesome crime scenes that he ever experienced was so traumatic, he couldn't sleep for days because he was up all night crying, while thinking about the poor victim's family and what they must have been going through at the time! Amazingly, he was still able to continue on with his work, despite being practically haunted by things he experienced just from doing his job!

    • @evangeline77x
      @evangeline77x 2 роки тому +138

Take it up with the constitution, people are innocent until proven guilty and have the right to fair bail. Bail is not an absolute right and in cases where the public may be at risk bail can be withheld, but for the most part people have the right to recieve fair bail when charged with a crime. It's just how the system works.
These people are terrible and I think they should be imprisoned for life for what they've done, its tantamount to murder... But they have only been charged, not convicted and rushing ahead to punishing them before they've been convicted won't undo what horrific suffering has already been done. I know it's frustrating but it's a necessary, vital part of the system that shouldn't be side stepped in favor of immediate vengeance.

I highly doubt the people will be able to pay for bail so honestly I hope they stay in prison like idk that’s disgusting like they obviously aren’t stupid and they should have known that she was dying like they simply didn’t care and were happy to take her disability checks like idk maybe the parents are autistic as well but probably not since the mom seemed to live a somewhat pretty normal life and i say that because of her job but I think those people definitely knew what they were doing and I’m wondering why the daughter had wounds on her legs like did the parents cut up her legs or was that because of the bugs? Like I honestly wonder but it’s so sad what happened to that girl she deserved so much better. ❤️💔😔

Not only is this murder, it’s torture. That young woman not only lost her life but suffered unimaginably for OVER A DECADE. Open, maggot infested wounds…probably infected and inflamed due to being on that feces and urine-soaked couch. Starved so badly that she was eating that same disgusting couch because there was nothing else. Beyond the horrific physical pain, what must she have felt mentally and emotionally? All those years of doing NOTHING besides rotting away in her own waste. No mental stimulation beyond staring at whatever was in front of her. Watching her parents walking by, living their lives, leaving the house without her. She died helpless and alone while her parents were away. Off on a little weekend trip while their own child was dying alone at home. Death was a mercy in this case. Rest In Peace Lacey, finally free. Even if these monsters get life in prison, they’ll still be a million times more comfortable. They’ll get 3 meals a day, showers and a toilet to use, fresh air and time outside, interaction with other people and activities to keep them occupied, a bed that isn’t soaked in feces and urine and medical attention if they get injured or sick. I don’t understand how a 36 year old woman can just be forgotten about. The report says she used to be very vocal and play sports back in school so she used to have a normal life but not a single friend or family member question where or what happened to her after seemingly disappearing for years. It’s not like she is a child being hidden from the world she was a grown adult and everyone around her failed her and turned a blind eye.

    • @NavvyMom

It's not as difficult as it might seem. With autism she would be entitled to attend school until age 21. If she didn't have any peers who lived nearby or made the effort to keep her in their circle of friends after graduation, she could slip through the cracks. Like they go to college or whatever and move on in life, and fall out of touch with her. Or maybe she did many "normal" school activities but didn't socialize with schoolmates outside of school. Lots of possibilities. If this was going on for 12 years, she would have been about 24 when it started. Another video said something about her having or developing some kind of anxiety disorder where she was afraid to go outside? And/or some kind of paralysis where only the eyes can move? (But how would they know that? I need to rewatch the other video, facts are scrambled.) A lot of psychoses or whatever the term is manifest in one's early 20's. So maybe she became afraid to go outside right around the time her peers were breaking ties and forming new ones, or maybe someone tried to invite her somewhere and she said no, and they stopped trying. That's all a stretch, and only a theory about how her peers could lose touch with her.
EDIT: Someone elsewhere in comments said she had some sort of muscle paralysis and couldn't walk.
As for family, or friends of her parents, I agree totally. But her parents may have come up with excuses for that scenario as well.
"Oh, she doesn't really like going out anymore."
"Oh, she's not feeling well today/night."
As unbelievable as it seems, if they were the types to always go elsewhere and not have people come to the home to visit, she could go many years without seeing relatives or friends. Maybe relatives asked after her and were told lies by the parents and believed the lies in an effort not to be intrusive and/or respect what they were told were Lacey's wishes about socializing.
However it happened that she was forgotten about, these "parents" deserve to be duct taped to a sofa, and maybe fed or given a drink of water whenever someone thinks of it, maybe once a week or so.

Worse autism than anyone else I know, but it's not like you can't befriend him, he's just a bit frustrating at times. But really if he didn't have the parents he had, he likely would still be non-verbal.

When she was found, she had been tested and it came back that she had Covid and bacterial infections. Her body had deep sores. To be clear, they needed to get her help after she refused(so they say) to leave the couch. They needed to get her help when she got so incredibly filthy. They needed to get her help when she had wounds so bad that you could see bone. So much more wrong with her that needed medical attention. They had over a decade to do this. As someone w asd, it happens when we don't have our needs met. I've been both very low functioning and very high functioning and it's 100% dependent on my environment, support system, stimulation, control, health/diet, happiness etc. If I get to control my environment and make my own choices and have support and eat well, I'm great but if circumstances aren't ideal, I'll go downhill quickly. I was high functioning at 20 but then I had to move to a place I hated. It was moldy, boring and dark. I started becoming ill and had to drop out of school. The people I was living with were driving me crazy. Then I became too ill to cook and had to eat garbage. Then I became nonverbal and constantly angry. The stress eventually led me to being bed bound, tube fed and nonverbal. I even had heart failure, seizures and anaphylaxis regularly. I fought for my life to get out of that situation and it took 5 years to speak and be able to function in society again. It sounds like this girl could have done well in life had she been given the resources but she just wasted away instead bc nobody could be bothered to see her potential or help her reach it.

The conditions would have to be adjusted a bit for each, to make them actually experience the same or a similar anxiety, various likely sensory hyper and/or hypo issues, lifelong isolation, and other likely issues the daughter faced on a daily basis prior to her parents torturous abuse, then tweaked again to account for the betrayal, confusion, panic attacks, fear, additional isolation stemming from abandonment (while being able to hear and see her “parents” every day, every week, every year, when do you stop hoping, pleading in your mind?), and ever increasing and then ebbing hunger and other bodily pains she would have continued to experience until finally dying alone while her parents were on vacation. Remember, she’d become non-verbal for who-knows how long near the end though likely due in large part to her having been starved, rendering her physically incapable of speech. Of course by then, who would listen?

It's not comfortable to go to the bathroom on yourself, where you're sleeping. Idk. Maybe I'll NEVER understand. I know if it was my mom & dad though, they'd force me to get up. Both probably had a mental breakdown to the point it never happened. Stop with your unwanted mean opinion. Not all autism patients need assistance some can manage on daily life things on their own. I broke down and cried the other day because I had to go conduct choir rehearsal and my two year old was struggling with the stomach bug. I had just given her some nausea meds and she was her regular happy self, but I literally had to call my hubby and be on the phone the whole way there because I felt so guilty. I can't imagine anyone doing this to a child they raised. It's just mind boggling and disgusting. They don't ever need to be released. This poor woman suffered unimaginably at the hands of her parents. That is the worst thing ever.

As a medical doctor, I've seen cases like this before in the emergency room, but not as bad as this. The worst one I remember was a guy who was paralyzed because of a gunshot wound to the spine. He was neglected and developed huge wounds from bedsores that had grown and rotted his flesh off. I remember his left buttock being nearly completely rotted and when we moved his left leg I could see the femoral head (top of the upper leg bone) slide out of the hip socket because all the flesh had rotted off and bones were already exposed. I think he died soon after from overwhelming sepsis (infection).

I have a little brother who's disabled and has a rare syndrom, he depends on us for literally everything. Whenever i come across videos like this i just can't help but weep for these inoccent children. They're truly a gift that can change how we perceive life to be, and they give it meaning, and to us, a purpose. I will never comprehend how a parent can be so heartless as to reject this gift and let it die like this. I hope they meet justice, even if the one on Earth fails.

I feel like there is a LARGE portion of the story missing. My daughter is verbal and autistic.. keeping them in one spot is very hard as they love to move around. Did they drug her? Force her to stay on the couch? Most autistic people don't regress in their 20s-30s. If she was playing volleyball and verbal, than chances are she was forced or drugged on that couch
    So many questions.

If she’d have gotten help, she may have continued to thrive & been here today. Prayers and Strength go out to all of her family, except the POS PARENTS.
