I love how “I don’t care, _I don’t care”_ gets repeated over and over, like Dream regrets pushing everyone away but won’t admit it to anyone, even himself
I just realized. The string around Tubbo's neck is taut, which implies he might be dead, while Tommy's is more limp and hanging down. Dream was going to kill Tubbo before they all came through the portal, but he meant to keep Tommy alive. Also, Dream has his foot on Ranboo's head, which paired with the strings around his wrists and neck and his hands held in the air like he's surrendering shows how much control Dream has over him, even though technically he and the real Dream don't interact much.
Ranboo has a lot of fear of Dream, right from the start, and it's highly likely that he loses his memory when he is terrified. So it's likely that he doesn't remember his interactions with Dream because of the fear, and he is surrendering because of the fear that controls him.
I have realized that the jams the dream is controlling ranboo with has a book. It is most likely "do not read" Ranboos memory book and he is reading it. He could maybe be reading it to ranboo to show him he is a monster?

okay i really like how in the artwork how everyones body language kind of matches them??? like tubbo has his head scrunched with his shoulders kind of like he's trying to squirm away, and he's kind of limp, cause he's a bit of a pushover. And tommy isn't limp cause his arm and leg are up, like how dream pushed him to a point where he constantly has to try to act out, but in the end he's still in dream's control. I'm so glad this awknowledges how Dream has manipulated practically everyone on the server-- blatantly or not-- rather than only Ranboo or Tommy. He's a puppetmaster of sorts, and due to not streaming we are unable to see his POV and sympathize. This is nothing but a game to him, no matter how annoying some of the players may be when going against his plans. It's the cold anger of a game master, getting the players back on track through tight situations and intimidation.

Theory: Dream is a part of Ranboo, literally both mentally and physically, so he escaped by "merging" with Ranboo. So when Ranboo enderwalks, he is really just controlled physically and mentally by Dream.

After stumbling on "In My Head" listening to this feels like a continuation of the story only this time we change perspective, going from Ranboo to Dream. This song omg it instantly got me singing even though I didn't know the lyrics, but that's something I've noticed in your songs, your voice just sort of leads the way and we just follow the rhythm and hoooooooly frick this is absolutely amazing. and the ART staring at it gave me chills, how Dream controls everyone even when he's at his lowest point (which he is probably faking, i do not believe he let himself get captured that easily there's just no way) something that immediately stuck with me during my first listen is this part 0:18-0:30 first of all vocals on point _chef's kiss_ the "I don't care" repeating over and over sends us back to the confrontation between Tommy and Dream before the exile, how the green boi threw everything away just to have power over others and then you just have "Go and kiss your dreams goodbye" straight up perfect bone chilling lyric that fits Dream considering his only goal is to literally crush all hope and dreams of the smp, god that is so clever This is definitely going in my playlist, chilling song as always! I think Purpled instead chose violence. Also, I don't think he's be a particularly easy or appealing target, having no power over others, no super close involvement with Dream's other targets, not being reliant on others or having attachments (to people or things) that would be easy to exploit... Dream would probably have to work for his control and gain little.

Perfectly describes Dreams gradual change from a hero keeping the peace to an outcast and a villain. No longer able to use his gifts and skills in an open and noble manner, but forced to use these same skills in new ways and in new darker places. His change from keeping the peace to getting back what he lost by whatever means necessary.
i just realized that most of the people that dream manipulated are minors ... my theory that he manipulate minors for actually their emotions weaknesses, and since most of minors needs support from adults, he have more possibility to manipulate them ( wow i love my theories :3 ).
I don't think "he's a minor" is the only/main reasoning he uses to target people. He doesn't target the people who are slightly older to such an extent as well, it's not like you magically become a super self reliant and emotionally mature person once you turn 18, and he left Purpled mostly alone. One may be able to argue that those in their mid-late 20s and older are likely to have enough experience to inherently be a less appealing target, but that's not something that happens overnight. Then again, there may be something to the idea that Dream targets minors because HE believes that they are inherently far more vulnerable than even slightly older people, which could make a lot of sense with him being 21 himself and thus not having the most mature perspective himself. So who else did he target and who didn't he target? Ranboo's memory makes him an easy victim, not being human may cause discrimination by at least some, Tommy and Tubbo were the ones that started it all and Tubbo has power over a lot of other people. Purpled is not super involved with others, not relying on others for anything, at least decent at PvP and from what little I know doesn't seem like a pushover or someone who'd get attached to things in a way that makes him vulnerable...overall high effort, little reward. He did also target Eret and George to some extent I think, Eret being king (position of power and weakness) and George being clueless as well as having been his friend once...any more? I think in the end it's the typical tried-and-true combination of the involvement in power structures that allow him to manipulate others beyond the direct target, dependency, lack of experience, having things he can use as leverage, lack of support and how much he would gain beyond the power trip. (Note: in real life there is a important difference in vulnerability between someone who's almost 18 and someone who just turned 18, the former is a child under the law and thus not able to make many important decisions that could help him while the latter is faced with a lot of rights and responsibilities they didn't have to worry about before, but what changes is more the legal situation than the actual maturity of a Person.)

Can I just add that in the background, Tubbo looks like he's given up and stopped struggling, while Tommy looks like he's fighting to get free of Dreams grasp? That's a nice touch. Also how Tommy looks a bit less tied up, as if he's slowly falling out of Dreams grasp- And then there's Ranboo, who is very loosely tied up, but still isn't able to get free. Dream doesn't have full control over him, but Ranboo also can't escape even if he resists.

Its all a game of power to dream, he does not care if they are children,babies,or even if people are in their death beds..
He wanted power and the fact he manipulates kids is becoz kids dont have that much strength both mentally and physically compared to adults
And the fact purpled is not manipulated or traumatized by dream is bcoz he holds no power

After stumbling on "In My Head" listening to this feels like a continuation of the story only this time we change perspective, going from Ranboo to Dream. This song omg it instantly got me singing even though I didn't know the lyrics, but that's something I've noticed in your songs, your voice just sort of leads the way and we just follow the rhythm and hoooooooly frick this is absolutely amazing. and the ART staring at it gave me chills, how Dream controls everyone even when he's at his lowest point (which he is probably faking, i do not believe he let himself get captured that easily there's just no way)
something that immediately stuck with me during my first listen is this part 0:18-0:30 first of all vocals on point _chef's kiss_
the "I don't care" repeating over and over sends us back to the confrontation between Tommy and Dream before the exile, how the green boi threw everything away just to have power over others
and then you just have "Go and kiss your dreams goodbye" straight up perfect bone chilling lyric that fits Dream considering his only goal is to literally crush all hope and dreams of the smp, god that is so clever

i just realized that most of the people that dream manipulated are minors ... my theory that he manipulate minors for actually their emotions weaknesses, and since most of minors needs support from adults, he have more possibility to manipulate them ( wow i love my theories :3 ).
I've been thinking about this as well.....
I don't think "he's a minor" is the only/main reasoning he uses to target people.
He doesn't target the people who are slightly older to such an extent as well, it's not like you magically become a super self reliant and emotionally mature person once you turn 18, and he left Purpled mostly alone.
One may be able to argue that those in their mid-late 20s and older are likely to have enough experience to inherently be a less appealing target, but that's not something that happens overnight.
Then again, there may be something to the idea that Dream targets minors because HE believes that they are inherently far more vulnerable than even slightly older people, which could make a lot of sense with him being 21 himself and thus not having the most mature perspective himself.
So who else did he target and who didn't he target?
Ranboo's memory makes him an easy victim, not being human may cause discrimination by at least some, Tommy and Tubbo were the ones that started it all and Tubbo has power over a lot of other people.
Purpled is not super involved with others, not relying on others for anything, at least decent at PvP and from what little I know doesn't seem like a pushover or someone who'd get attached to things in a way that makes him vulnerable...overall high effort, little reward.
He did also target Eret and George to some extent I think, Eret being king (position of power and weakness) and George being clueless as well as having been his friend once...any more?
I think in the end it's the typical tried-and-true combination of the involvement in power structures that allow him to manipulate others beyond the direct target, dependency, lack of experience, having things he can use as leverage, lack of support and how much he would gain beyond the power trip.
(Note: in real life there is a important difference in vulnerability between someone who's almost 18 and someone who just turned 18, the former is a child under the law and thus not able to make many important decisions that could help him while the latter is faced with a lot of rights and responsibilities they didn't have to worry about before, but what changes is more the legal situation than the actual maturity of a Person.)

And then there's Ranboo, who is very loosely tied up, but still isn't able to get free. Dream doesn't have full control over him, but Ranboo also can't escape even if he resists.
