- The Raconteurs are back with their new album Help Me Stranger. After eleven years, not a lot of people expected a follow-up for 2008’s Consolers of the Lonely. For the band though, it felt like they only parted ways for a month. We sat down with Jack White and Brendan Benson to talk about their new album, being rock music veterans and Jack White’s 88-year old mother and her enthusiasm for loud music.

I saw Jack 2014 in frankfurt and it was amazing!After a hard fight with my illness it was very special.The concert was sold out in 10 min.I wish I can see and feel the raconteurs live too✌

The interview got better after a few minutes. A couple of tips, one when he said they all live in Nashville, he meant they see or get together but you kept asking about chat etc. Also, vinyls is not a word, it's like fish, plural is still vinyl. We should get back to calling them records. Many records weren't actually pressed to vinyl, they were pressed to styrene or other mixed materials.

its hard for me to do 70 interviews w/same questions. I'd get high as well. when someone has a few ideas with them. I keep pen/paper by bed for lyrics. Right as im about to sleep, my mind has given a quick snippet. usually lyrical. If i've rehearsed or played that day, I might get a voice recorder and hum a few ideas, then write it all down. It's killed me when ive not adhered to my own rules and it was a great idea lost.

Raconteurs and the Black Keys have the same album release date and the same white vinyl... for arch rivals they sure are synced up.
To be fair, much as I actually prefer Jack's music, that's more of a "Hey we like blues rock and we're a duo" with Jack's response being "sTaHp StEaLiNg FrOm Me!" rather than a rivalry.

The BK's homogenize their influences into a single style, while White just pursues ALL , in separate directions and projects.The BK's are more consistent; White is more suprising and mind expanding.I'm glad for them both.

I think the real reason The Raconteurs were put on hold for ten years was primarily Jack's voice - his pipes needed a rest! He really gives it all in performances. Love these guys ❤️

Took a record player on the road... sheech. I love listening on the road. 24bit/48khz files sound as good as vinyl without the hassle. Jack does his editing digitally anyway then converts it back to analogue. If you do that, why is vinyl better?
He only did this on his last solo album. I don't know what he did for the Raconteurs album though.
