Cool interview. Just saw these guys in San Diego. Always loved Jack White solo(seen 2x) and White Stripes(1x) but was slower to the Raconteurs. It was a freaking blast. Having other active members in a band probably evens out Jack White's overactive, genius musical mind to some degree. I saw Jack White solo last year and he expiremented a lot with arrangements and volume(very f*cking loud), plus it was my first no-phone concert. But this Racontuers concert was more straight-forward and allowed Jack to jump around like a mad man, not having to be responsible for everything. Incredible energy. Great stuff.
There's a monster at the end of this book is an all time classic for kiddies. I had never heard it referenced outside if my own book pool. Jack is amazing.

Let Me Roll It- Wings. In 2002, I saw The White Stripes in a small dive club in Morgantown, WV, and Brendan played Let Me Roll It before the Stripers came on stage. I talked to Brendan throughout The White Stripes' set... I sensed some kind of civil war connection in the music. I came to the show because I gave Jack horrible directions to the venue... I actually told him to turn down the wrong way on a one way street (I didn't drive). I came to apologize and was thankful for the circumstances. Anyway, Let Me Roll It was covered in a great way that night.
I was at the Saturday show there and sat stage left. I imagine if you're sitting center the sound is great but not where I was. At one point early in the set a sound guy with a macbook pro showed up right behind me - looked at some charts and grafts then left but the sound didn't improve. Couldn't understand a single vocal which made hearing Carolina Drama live bitter sweet.
@@jetsamperes5762 They do not have great acoustics in there. And I nearly died of heat exhaustion. But it was a fucking amazing show (I was there Friday night-no Carolina Drama for us).
