- The Raconteurs live at Electric Lady - documentary and concert film
Listen to The Raconteurs: TheRaconteurs....
In September 2019, The Raconteurs visited legendary New York City recording studio Electric Lady Studios to record a live EP and interview with Jim Jarmusch in honor of the studios’ 50th Anniversary - exclusively for Spotify. ‘The Raconteurs: Live at Electric Lady’ is a documentary and concert film showcasing the day, including their explosive 7-song live performance (also featured on the Spotify EP/Enhanced Album), the recording of “Blank Generation” (a cover of The Voidoids song originally recorded at Electric Lady), and a conversation with Jim Jarmusch.

Thay are. just got up my cell and now everyone knows that it wonder . Do your best just love jack very on
I am lionel ò
I’m grateful for the Raconteurs (and the Queens of the Stone Age) as well.
Couldn’t help but grin ear-to-ear when I heard that. Made my giblets all warm and tingly
Amen
I've been on a huge Quotsa kick lately... Check their live in belfont 2005 and 2002 (I believe it's '02... It should be an hour and a half of straight goodness).
I agree about the QotSA butt there's some Butthole Surfers rip off in there too. I love all these bands, and don't mind if they rip something or not! Just sayin'.
@J duuuum
Damn, I miss concerts.
me too
Soooo much!
Fk yeh👍🎸🕺🏻🎼🎤
Jack's intro on "It Might Get Loud" is still my favorite of all time.
I have absolutely nothing against The Edge, but I couldn't find the why he is a part of this documentary...
@@whipshaw I disagree, but hear me out. No one can deny that he was able to find his own distinctive guitar sound. It's very expressive and unmistakeably his. Not many guitarists who have come and gone can say that. He's not a virtuoso like Page or White but he's a wonderful audio sculptor that is able to set landscapes and encapsulate emotions perfectly with his sound. I initially thought the same as you did when I first watched "It Might Get Loud" but the more I thought of it, the more I realised that he had every right to be up there along side them.
Paul it's completely valid by this point of view and I agree with you but musically speaking, his style became so disconnected when you join Jimmy and Jack. For the documentary purpose it's understandable, but it isn't a musical match...
@@whipshaw Yeah, I know where you're coming from alright. Although, maybe someone else who fits the same style as Page and White would create less of a dynamic in the documentary. The Edge and White were clearly in awe of Page. When he talked/played, they shut the fuck up and absorbed as much as they could. A bit like students of Page. It's nice to see that Page inspired someone like White and someone like The Edge. Two totally different beasts but equally as impressive imo
@@MikiUchman I hear you and that Keith Levene sound in PIL has a definite resemblance to The Edge's earlier sound but remember, it's just an influence and like all good art, it's supposed to inspire the receiver of it in order to create something new which imo The Edge did with his sound. Keith Levene doesn't get his dues, you're right, and a lot of people don't, but Keith didn't write Where The Streets Have No Name, Bad, With or Without You, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Pride (In The Name of Love), All I Want Is You... (I could go on here), The Edge did and that sound in those songs and many others of his imo is totally his own and whether you're a U2/The Edge fan or not, it's undeniable that these songs have resonated with, defined and have soundtracked millions upon millions of people's lives since. He, excuse the pun here, "struck a chord" with the masses and was able to articulate emotions into sound that words can't express. Like all good music should.
All I know is I'm thankful for the Raconteurs *whispers * and Queens of the Stone Age
Watching Jack get taught how to play something is wild. Really shows that you never stop learning
What do you mean jack white is one of the technically worst singers and guitarists ever. All he has is amazing writing skills and a cool look. But musically his guitar sounds horrible and he can’t even hit a note on the head with a hammer.
Even while the dude showed him the part, jack white still didn’t get it right
Love Jim Jarmusch...glad to see him here.
“Steady as she Goes” video is amazing. Classic
Classic!
This band and The Black Keys are keeping rock and roll music alive and well in 2020
Anything that Jim Jarmusch is envolved is f*cking amazing!
The Raconteurs are my favorite project by each member made one of the greatest albums of all times
@Samuel Powell I'll give it a listen thank you for the information.
I had no idea how good this band was. It is rare that a film can capture the energy of a live room. These guys nailed it.
In 30 years we will be lucky to have lived to see these bands
Dean is so underrated, very low key guy, very talented guy. Love this guy. God bless you
Wow. Didn't know about this studio. This video was like ASMR for the soul.
Have you been living in a cave?
You don't see much of this artistry and creativity anymore. Thanks guys for reminding us of why we feel music the way we do.
Broken Boy Soldier is still my favorite. It hit me lyrically in a way few songs have.
love this performance of 'old enough' here, drums sound great
03:46 "Somewhere far away on a beach sounds nice, nothing on my mind, nothing on my mind"
I was on a deserted beach in New Zealand before Covid listening to this, wish I was back there,.
I meet Jack lawrence after the first City and Colour show in Santiago, Chile. He was so humble and happy for some random guy praising his epic bass guitar skills, much respect.
I've been fortunate to see these guys 2 times. 1st time was in 2006 at the House of Blues in Cleveland. The 2nd time was in August 2019 at the Old National Center in Indy...and the bottom line is, they might be the happiest group of musicians I have ever seen. Dont ever change!
Love this band . great music.
This is the best 60 minutes of the last year for me.
Incontrovertible proof that Rock is not dead.
Listen to that scream of yeah at the end of bored and razed that's summons all the who's energy from won't get fooled again \m/
Thank God for my "Imaginary Friends" !
After 16 hours working, remembering the days I used to play, I went to check upon my messages and ended up here after a good friend shared with me .. now it’s 4am, I’m drunk, couple of good tears on my eyes and want to rethink my hole life. In love with this. Raconteurs always coming thru, being the best on true music attitude
I’m glad these Boys are Back hopefully they can bring rock back into the mainstream with their godly songs!!!
from a listener to the Raconteurs...WOWEEE !!!!!!!!
Coming back for the inspiration..
Back again for inspiration
It's amazing that this video and performance is just a free thing that shows up in my UA-cam feed. Much love to everyone involved ❤️
Man this band never ceases to amaze me, such energy and amauterism like Jim says.... hopefully they dont take another ten years for the next one, in the meantime continue to enjoy Help Us Stranger and the live versions, keep that Rock alive!!!
Amazing, just great.
Greetings from Mexico
Brendan has a spectacular voice and the way he uses it with the downward affliction. Much like Chris Helme from The Seahorses. Just gives me a tingle. Love this band, Jacks best project in my ears.
Hi there. I didn't know the Seahorses but your comment pushed me to them. I'm no good in discovering new stuff. Quite loyal.. Thank you so very much. Love the 60s`vibe in his voice. So good. Thank you, stay healthy...and if we ever meet. Free drink, or coffee, or... codeword "seahorse don't drink"
Guys, can't wait. I hope everything goes well. Have a great day.
I'm exited
Lol you left?
Always high energy that lifts the spirit Up. When searching for that "sound" that you can feel through the mind and heart...Yeah, ..The Raconteurs... that's the med for the fix....
I luv Jack's smile 😊😊😊😊
I simply felt " LOVE " in my SOUL...I was young when Electric Lady was built...but the LOVE from way back then came flooding into my being through SPIRIT...the MUSIC...the admiration for these guys & their LOVE for the MUSIC filled my heart with exuberant joy...Thanks to the masterminds & ALL involved...and to Jim...I'm gonna " TRY NOT TO LET THE FUCKERS GET ME !!! "
I miss live music so damn bad 🖤
I don't know what I'd do without Jack White's music.
I know, right?
A world without his music might have prevented me from killing myself.
Buy a Black Keys album , maybe?

Saw them two times. One of my favourite gigs of all time. And i have seen many bands...
They are Fantastic! Saw them in a small club which made it even better!
I am DESPERTE to see these guys live, I just can't think of a better band in my generation.
They are FANTASTIC! GREAT SHOW!
the lemon twigs, strokes and arctic monekys are good too. Maybe even better.
desperate*
Amazing how much talent Jack has seriously 🤗🤘😎
In a decent decade of last century, this band would have the place they deserve now.
Jarmusch - creator of the most memorable movies I have seen. Night on Earth and Dead Man.
Dig that The Raconteurs stay true to themselves. Thanks for the post...much needed to take a break from the chaos that is our country right now.
Same. This cheered me up.
No doubt, this is what I needed to lift my spirit's this morning.Long live The Raconteur's!!!!
LOVE ME some Raconteurs!

Extremely excited!
Awesome to see them back and keep it going this time!!!
So nice to hear Jack say “I don’t know what to do there”.
My boy Brendan gotta get that bowl smokin' before the real sesh begins. Respect!
Respect for smokin' weed before jammin'? You must have respect for a shitload of people then.
@@DMT353 ok Trump head
@@viniciuscomacento It was a joke about how _a lot_ of musicians smoke weed before jamming. (Newsflash: He's right.. we DO!)
What does Trump have to do with ANY of this? Stop obsessing over him, dummy. it's pathetic and irrelevant.
Drugs are lame.
It's so fun to see you in the studio! Love the documentary ♥️ and the blank generation cover is amazing ⚡
It’s crazy to think this band has been around my entire adult life .
I love this band. Great show
powerful live.. thanks masters
Thank you for this, these times are crazy and music is my sanity.
This sounds so damn good for a live performance. Whoever does their sound deserves props. What a consistent performance by the band. I'm in awe.
Such a great documentary leading up to the performances. The history of music is so fascinating
Best hour I've spent in so long. Obsessed with these guys. So so...so good!!🤍
In the grand scheme of things, we're not on earth for long at all. I'm glad I was here at the same time Jack White was.
I love this ! Thank you.
Let’s talk more about Dean, man. Great musician and stage performer. Yo, Dean! So glad to see you play!
Really a beautiful film, I love Raconteurs music, I love Jim Jarmusch, perfect combination
So cool! Thanks gents and thank you Jim, what a great job. These guys very well may be the best band of the 21st Century.
Brendan's face when Jack's talking bout spiking people with acid! 😂 😂
When 😂

Excited!!! Will definitely tune in!!! 👍
I'm in my mid sixties. If asked if I could go back to my 20's, I always say... nah....
But after seeing documentaries like this, Id have to give it a try...just to go back to do a re-do of cool. I'd definitely get it better and strive to be a part of. I'm really feeling the passion that these guys have, and White's almost too cool for his own good!
I feel 10 yrs younger already!
This is so awesome. Jim excellent job all around. It was beautiful. Hope to see more collaborations with The Raconteurs and Jim for some reason they just seem to fit. The world needs more music now. This video should have millions of views but a lot of young ones don't appreciate real music anymore
They speak so slowly, I can understand all of the words even with my french ears .. so great ... they sound stoned haha
Such Excellent Musicians!!
Thanks!!
That was The Raconteurs "Live at Electric Lady" as K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 2010s weekend just keeps on...truckin'.
Simply amazing! Thank you!
What an amazing and humbling experience it must be to play in such a legendary room.
Thank you ❣️🎸❤️🎶✨
This is absolutely incredible. Great job everyone!
This band is so good. Great performance. Please keep making music together. Something special.
Absolutely Phenomenal. LUV this band. ..Don't stop. :)
I'm pumped!
There was no mention of Jim Jarmusch in the title. He’s my fave. I lucked out.
I love this so much....thanks for making it
I really enjoyed this film. Thank you! xoxo
If not for the Raconteurs, we'd have never had the Dead Weather!
The sound mix on this is incredible.
At least SOMEONE is keeping it real!!! Raconteurs for the Win!
Simply, thanks! a delight to have seen this video. Now i need to see The Raconteurs live.. Please, a gig in Barcelona !
Love this! Love the band, love the sons, love Jack 😎🤩😎🤩 incredible chemistry together and so brilliant live
Definitely one of the greatest rock bands of our time! 🔥🔥🔥
Dean is on that Billy Preston 5th Beatle shit, hardly any mention of the dude but just consistently killing it for years.
