My filter was pretty tight so used a needle nose pliers in the manner you showed. The tabs inside the cap both broke off as I was doing this. I think that's a sign that the plastic is getting older and more brittle. Perhaps the filter assembly should be replaced every 5 years or so.
Thank you. Got some coldwater sandwiching, I think it's called, as was hopeful it was just a clogged filter but no. Water pressure is 100 lbs at outside spigot. Onward thru the fog.
Hi Gary, thanks for this video. In rinnay infinity 17 it's impossible to remove the water inlet, beacause the front pannel avoid removing the filter. Is it necessary to remove the panel? Thanks so much.
Would it be wise to add a scale filter to the cold water inlet to prevent scale build up in tank? Or will I have to descale every year no matter what. I figure I can change out scale filters every year.
Super easy, thanks for the video!

Does this filter come with all riannai tankless water heaters? And if so does it remove scale build up from going into water tank?
yes, all have the filter- it stops small particles - it doesn't remove mineral deposits
