Love my Go2. I use it waaaay more than my regular action cam. Although not ideal for a dedicated video camera, it's great for social media stuff. I always get people asking questions about it. Kinda surprised how many people aren't aware this camera exists.
The go 2 is amazing for a quick shot when you don't want to have a camera rig. Just clip to the visor and your videoing. I live the fact that you can fix your angle in post if you are slightly low or high. Longer battery and better resolution just make this so much better
Wow!!!! What a cool camera. Thank you for putting this video together for us. Love ALL the practical options this light weight camera and display can do for us.
Love my Go2, my favorite riding angle is chin mounted on full face helmet for BMX races. Have even been able to pan in the edit to catch a close call where I almost clipped another racers rear wheel. The weight is also nice for the hat mount on the visor like you showed, you don't even notice it's weight.
Imagine having multiple of thoses cameras side by side and being able to combine the multiple shots to have an ultra ultra wide angle through some software magic, while still being under the weight of GoPro
IF they were thinner put 'em back to back like the X3 or X4 and have proper 360. Otherwise might be a bit too thick. Wonder if anyone could do it though....
Would like to see a more chunky trail to see the stabilisation of the camera. I broke my Gopro9 2 days ago and will buy something new soon. Will you talk about this in a future video ?
This is an excellent configuration idea 5:25! I do a clunky version of this with DJI pocket2 and a smartphone but I’m always worried about breaking it - or running out of batteries!
I love my DJI Osmo action 3 for picture and stabilization quality but the size of this camera would be a huge advantage because I love my chin mount angles... Maybe not as good video quality but still solid AF. PS. Good to see you guys out at Moose on RoS .... Save Moose mountain and West Bragg!!!
While Insta 360 and DJI have some great ideas with the action cams they fall behind on the most important thing :video quality! For that the GoPro is still king 😢 if they could match the go pro video quality that would be game over for go pro. Until then...
Not many reviewers mention the non-removable battery life. 45 mins seems fairly low considering after a few months worth of charging the figure will be much lower especially in cold conditions. Socks not to be able to replace the battery go buy new Go 3!
that's pretty cool. i have the normal insta360, which I love for skiing... But I find the weight of it limiting for MTB and lots of trail chatter- you notice the weight. Would like to try this thing
Do I need to take the entire camera on a ride to take videos? Do they need to be in range of one another? I was hoping to only take the tiny part with me and leave the larger housing in the car.
you too? Damn, I just bought a One RS and really not sure if i need another camera, but the Insta360 FOMO is real, lol! Forgot to mention, I just rode EKG yesterday and felt like I was in The Loam Ranger's playground.
Great video but talking about not ever having been able to use a cam that light on a helmet kind of forgets that the predecessor was even lighter with almost same specs (leaving aside battery life).
The magnet is quite strong. For example, the magnetized visor clip isn't supposed to be used for scenarios like mountain biking, but I've found the magnetic connection between the camera and the clip to be more than strong enough for rough trails. I don't see a place for a tether though.
@@FinnDrahola me, too. I'm still on the Hero 9. I don't feel like there are significant enough changes to upgrade every year, but I might go for the 12.
This looks very interesting! My only concern is if I should buy the 64gb or the 128gb version, if I will still be using the GoPro as the primary camera. But thanks for the video! Are you gonna make more videos, with more content from this camera?
Is it wrong that when you said, "So Beth and I are going to go up into the hills..." I instantly filled in "...and find some hitchhikers to terrorize"? Probably. Anyway. That camera looks sick. You've also been around long enough to know that so many of the setups you can do with it were either difficult, expensive, or impossible to pull off with any level of quality not too terribly long ago. The detachable cam/screen system is brilliant. Assume it's also good for color grading?
@@TheLoamRanger That's actually really good. I'm the kind of rider that just want to hit record at the start, then ride for 2+ hours. As my main focus is having a good ride, not stopping and filming...

@@TheLoamRanger good to know. Would have loved to hear some of the downsides as apposed to all positive. This would help people decide if they actually should buy it
Agree. I am an advert hater at the best of times, it's just psychological with me, hate marketers, hate force feeding etc. Took a quick look at this vid by scrolling ahead over the content and abandoned it quickly. Sorry Loam Ranger, usually like your content but this infomercial sucks. Where is your disclosure whether this is paid content or sponsored content or not? Without that it's difficult to determine how objective your review is in the first place.
C’mon people, there’s NO improvement on the video quality compared to Go2. Freeframe is the only interesting mode and it’s exactly the same 1440p as the pro mode on Go2. All your impossible shots are easily achievable with a 2 year old Go2 with the same quality, the screen is a gimmick. Sad..:(((
So you have both of them and compared them on your own monitor? If not, your comment is pure speculation. I've used both extensively now and can say that the GO 3 is more useful and puts out higher quality video, especially when utilizing the new image profiles.
Using the Action Pod exactly as intended, you're making us wish we were out there too 🙌
This is amazing im getting one too
Oh my! I use my Go 2 for work and play all the time. Going to need to add this into my collection.
Great innovation! I’ll be picking up one.
Black option would be good
I ordered one on launch day, can't wait to receive it!
The stabilization inside such a small device is insane, I remember when Seths bike hacks would wear a full-blown harness to get this level!!

So great! Opens up a whole creative avenue and a variety of shots! And everybody loves bike shots.......
Love the Nordic Centre trails. I'd recognize Odyssey anywhere.
A classic!
The shots on the end of the massive selfie stick were awesome. Similar feel to a drone without the hassle!
Totally agree! Thanks man. We should use that setup the next time we film those slabs :D
Definitely, that would be the perfect place!

cool, small camera, but video quality is a bit to low.
That's how I feel. It's good for some unique angles, but not as the main POV cam. GoPro's quality is significantly better.
Great video! Thanks a lot for sharing!!
Awesome video guy!

Sick! But what's the battery life like on that? I take it you can only charge a battery in there and not change it?

What was that mount and small stick at @4:38 ? Where can I purchase ?
Thank you for this review, amazing! where did you get the mount right in front of your helmet? looking forward for your answer thanks!
I would love to see a go 3 vs. x3 showdown for someone looking to buy just one.

Did you try the pendant on a downhill? My friend lost the last version...😅
How is the stabilization and quality to the latest go pro? Battery life?
The visor clip: what can you tell me about it? Is it strong? You trust it on your helmet to not go flying off?
What was that small selfie stick on your helmet and bike?
you too? Damn, I just bought a One RS and really not sure if i need another camera, but the Insta360 FOMO is real, lol! Forgot to mention, I just rode EKG yesterday and felt like I was in The Loam Ranger's playground.
Seems like a really good option for POV-MTB-filming. But why wouldn't you use it instead of the Gopro you normally use?
That’s cool what did you use to clamp the pod to the selfie stick
can you live stream on social media with it?
That is legit something new, not just a go pro clone.
Agreed.
Hi Loam Ranger! This video is So crispy sound. Did you put on compression sound process from Rode wireless footage?
Do you need the pod close by to use voice activation? Cause they would be a bummer if you had to somehow carry the action pod with you lol
How about the microphone? How to capture Audio if I just place the cam on my motorcycle helmet. How to connect an external microphone?
Great video but talking about not ever having been able to use a cam that light on a helmet kind of forgets that the predecessor was even lighter with almost same specs (leaving aside battery life).
Remind Beth she’s got to stand up to the jump (stand up to the jump).
Late to comment on this great vid and also late to comment on your "POG" helmet 😆Braaaappp!
What they use to rig for the wheel shot?
How long is the battery working, how long to charge it, and does the battery get hot fast?
What glasses are those? The Red ones
Is this camera prone to overheating like GoPro's?
Is that shot at the nordic center?
Most of it, yes! Not the big drop features though.

The pixelation is just from UA-cam compression. That doesn't exist on my computer monitor.
