Jesse friend, actually marincess can play around Nibiru. You need the Abyss Shark engine. Which consists of 3 Abyss Shark, 1 Silent Angler and 1 Minairuka (Or some other fish you prefer) The combo is: -Normal summon tang, folish to Mandarin -Special summon Abyss Shark, add Silent Angler -Special Silent Angler -Make Bahamut Shark, special Toad in 5th summon From here you make anemone and revive tang to search the field, you summon mandarin 🍊. After triangle, recover and discard to search for wave. And then you bring down Argonaut, having her, Toad and Wave would be 3 interruptions with 2 cards. I would prefer this engine instead of the pot of prosperity, since if they make you Ash Blossom, you keep the abyss Shark in your hand. Thank you for reading.
@@Shione_Starlight Of course, but I feel like it's a big waste of resources. You need a lot of luck and you will spend at least 3 cards for it, or 2 but your final field will not be the best. And the +1 that Abyss Shark gives you is incredible This is my opinion after looking for many ways to play it and get the most out of it.
@@ticklewave7797 Abyss shark pushes the deck up a level. nib protection or a guaranteed kragen. extender that searches another extender. It's a must play
We need more diversity in these formats, especially for people who can’t afford the top tier so I’m going to make this a series! Hope you found it helpful 🙏🏽
@@jessekottonygothis comment alone makes me not only value u as a player, but as a person. Ur actually not a shitty person like some of the top players we’ve been seeing recently
@@jessekottonygo Is it an order coming directly from Konami ? More and more non competitive players are quitting the game for the expensiveness and toxicity of yugioh
@apocalipsenearby modern ninja players are currently on one of the older notebook cards which allows you to discard a ninja to set a ninja trap/spell. We like discarded ninjas because they can then be reborned with cards like Kagero and Notebook of Mystery. Furthermore, it allows us to use cards like Iron Digger and Yaguramaru on turn 1. Horus is just that discard engine but on crack, and lets us do rank 8 plays to protect from Nib and Ash on next turn. There is additional synergy with cards like Green Ninja, which become a book of moon on being discarded, and Kagero, which protects from targeting when in the grave.
Marincess is one of the first decks I bought getting into the game back in 2019. Deck has always been really afforadable and the new support let it consistantly top to this day. One of my favorite decks for sure.
I also like Triple Tactics Thrust in this deck. Being able to set Marincess Wave going first and search Cynet Mining going second is really nice when playing into interaction. It’s not very budget but it’s quite strong if you do happen to get your hands on it.
@@chaosinfernoid9008 I’ve been running 2 thrust, 1 talents (you can look at your opponent’s hand if you get hit with Nibiru). It all depends on how many hand traps you’re trying to fit into your deck, though.
That seems like a hug waste to me. Why would you wanna search dive with thrust and then set it? Just giving the opponent a chance to pop it. Talent works much better than Thrust, there aren't any spells/traps that you cant search otherwise. Also, cynet mining is kind of a waste too. it's a -1 and if it gets ashed you're kinda fucked
Kragen is also a powerful floodgate against promethean princess because it turns the opponents monsters water and princess needs to target a fire monster on their field to actually be used, so kragen by himself locks the opponent out of princess. I personally play Shark Xyz and have a lot of experience with that card
Please make more videos for budget players, that was really helpful!! Could you make a video about which main/extra deck staples are a must-have, so budget players that are new to the game can learn which cards to get first? The difference in pricing for the already cheap deck you showed us to just the engine itself was still pretty big. I think, I’d go for a relatively cheap engine and afterwards I’d start focusing on getting the staples. That way, I’d be able to play right now and I could make sure to lay a solid foundation so I’d only have to invest in newer engines in the future 😅
My instinctual reaction is "why not play Unchained instead" since I always forget Rage isn't a 0.20€ any longer or Abomination's Prison a 0.50€ (tin reprints) while all the rest are bulk commons/rares/supers. Can't wait to see you play Marincess. We have a really dedicated player in our locals who made everyone know what every Marincess card does by heart because he is an incredible pilot and regularly tops. He always says Bystials and Fenrir are the best non-engine for the deck because the bodies apply more pressure where Marincess lacks a bit, while playing Monster reborn as a Thrust target. While this goes out of budget, the fact you can build into this eventually can be great for long term.
i'm pretty sure the red linked 2 one is 15$ (I just sold one on tcgplayer around that price) and you need like two copies? and marincess is 30$ flat out.
@@tomerator Red is the link 3 that costs 1€ still, Rage (Blue dog) is the link 2 you probably mean. My point was that since 2020 you could spend 30$ and make 10+ Unchained cores but then support came out and sadly they got bought out by scalpers. To give you an example, i bought 9 Abomination's Prison for 0.81€ total and 6 Rage (the blue one you sold) for 0.30€ while all the rest were 0.02€ cards, and along very basic common reprinted staples i built 3 "structure deck level" competitive decks for locals for 3 new players. Then after these Unchained cards skyrocketed (those 9 Abomination's Prisons would be 9x35=315$ before last banlist) those players thanked me for gifting them their first deck, keeping them instead of selling due to hype.
@@babrad so if you're talking in the past then why are you saying he should do unchained? it's not a budget deck anymore because the link2 blue one is 15$ and you need 3.
@@tomerator you need 2 not 3 but Yama on its own is also 30. I said I always forget that unchained became expensive while for 3 years they were super budget
I run the Marincess discord, and honestly you have a lot of great points here. There are other techs you can definitely use as well though such as Icejade engine with the synchro which completely walls Fire Kings. Another somewhat underutilized card is the use of Crystal Heart, and while yes you can go without it, it allows combo lines to be insulated against cards such as nibiru or imperm. My usual play line when I fear nibiru being active is summoning Crystal Heart on fifth summon, which is usually enough for most non-marincess players to shotgun nibiru and they have to find out that crystal heart cannot be tributed by it. Been playing this deck for 5 years now and the discord is also almost 5 years old now too
Wow, an ABSOLUTE LEGEND 🙏🏽 thank you so much for your contribution to this community and for the absolutely amazing insight, I’m still fairly new to the deck so there’s gonna be a lot of exploration still to be had with the deck but I appreciate you taking the time to share that valuable information! Stay tuned for the video of me playing it at locals and let me know if there’s ways I could’ve optimized the play lines better🙏🏽
Icejade Cradle and Ran Aegerine are both good adds to this deck. allows you to access powerful level 10 synchro plays as well as set up your grave. Great stuff Jesse! Love the content
Some thoughts on the deck as I've played it on and off since great bubble reef dropped - The l5 marincess is essential for getting an equip on your argonaut without the field spell. It's necessary IMO in hands where you have to search for your dive and still want to end on 2 negates. Its effect on field is also good for protecting your field spell or l4 to make them a pseudo-towers. - Formud skipper is another starter that is on the level of blue tang when it resolves, can become either of your l1s and can search the l5 marincess. It and Blue Tang are the only normals that can get to aqua argonaut with a s/t negate and marincess wave in a 1 card combo. By adding linguriboh/balelynx and 1 copy of scryptron to your main and extra it can still get to bubble reef even if its eff is negated. It's good enough to warrant playing 1 for 1 with mandarin being your other good target. It's a better package vs playing cynet mining as it doesn't play into droll (they droll you after getting your double add... only stops you getting your wave later on and you've got 2 extenders now) Overall this gives you 6 great normal summons (tang + skipper, 7 copies with 1 for 1), 4 good normals (3x springirl, 1x sea horse), and 1 passable normal with mandarin. Of course these all become much better if you draw into multiples. - 3x Abyss Shark 2x Silent Angler package lets you get to your r4s much more consistently and they're just free extenders. Any l4 marincess + abyss shark lets you beat nib with a 5th summon toad and leads to your link 4s. Abyss shark being an extender that searches another extender is just too good. It gives the deck extra gas especially going 2nd. By playing this you have a decent chance of making toad, and in hands where you don't if you can open combo without needing your dive revive you can hold it to recover after a potential nib. Abyss shark summon is also a guaranteed stealth kragen - If you play the above cards I've found you can cut out the more fluff marincess monsters and only play them as one ofs and still have consistent opens. Adding 3 skippers and 1 for 1 means you can cut sea horse, pascalus down to 1 copy just to have the names available (I've cut pascalus entirely - it's the worst normal to play into hand traps and gives your opponent knowledge of your hand if you use its on summon eff) This build I'm running with all this still has room for 15-20 non engine - Stealth kragen + gozen is well known but some other interactions that catch people off guard include it doing double battle damage if you summoned abyss shark that turn, and the fact that its pop + burn eff is a soft OPT, so you can go for 2 pops if you get to it and zealantis (Which is basically any marincess + abyss shark). This pretty much always means you're OTKing if you know what to do. - Gameceil with zealantis summons back to your field - Crystal heart sucks. There's no reason to play it The deck does a lot with a little especially for the price. It's ideal for anyone wanting to play locals but can't commit to buying the newest archetypes or the chase staples, as the non engine the deck generally runs is very cheap cards (thrust will be very nice once it is reprinted and cheap though). I think if anyone is looking to play the deck any time soon they should defo have a look at getting abyss sharks now as they're looking to be on the up being played in basically every decent water deck now. The decks big struggles right now are both of S:P little knights effects and breaking boards going 2nd if you cant climb up to zealantis.
Thanks for sharing this option, Jesse. I understand this won't replace a fire deck, but is nice from you to take the time to do these videos for all the players that do not want to break the bank with the current card prices.
dear jesse kotton, as a life time player of marincess, i'd like to recomend a Safer line for blue tang, sending spring girl, and then adding it back with blue slug, reason being, if you sent mandarin you're forced to go into sea angel and search dive, if you send spring girl, you go for blue slug, this will allow you to possibly play trough a imperm/veiler on blue slug since now if you get veilered blue tang's excavate 3 can search more possible extenders in the form of 2 spring girl. 3 sea horse and your 1 dive, (although i play 3 because extender go BRRR) as opposed to if you get stopped at sea angel, where your only mills are 3 spring girl and your 1 dive. and at the end you go triangle + Springirl summoned off dive into splash mage into marble rock. this way you have follow up, and you do give up your draw 1 but you're safer trough handtraps. I know it's slightly less effecient but the safety it provides helps if your opponent has 2 minor handtraps like veiler imperm. or just a well placed veiler. with a unfortunate hand. i hope someone who read this tries this line to be safer.
I unironically think Marincess was well positioned when duelists of the deep came out and was just under explored. Then POTE came out and it squandered it's chance to be a meta threat
Can't wait to see the locals gameplay! ngl when I clicked the video and saw Marincess my gut reaction was "ah, Jesse found a deck that can easily play 3 Desires" so very surprised to see you went for prosperity here - I feel like this deck burns through its ED way too much for that, so interested in seeing how it plays in practice.
Been playing Marincess since release, used to top so much in NYC locals it was a crazy fun part of my yugioh career. I randomly showed up six months ago and got second at a 30 man locals in Flushing before sunavalon got hit, felt amazing to play. However, one miserable thing about the deck is that if the opponent sets up one piece of removal interruption you instantly lose the game. So just keep that in mind, this deck has absolutely no going second potential besides sacking non engine (ie nibiru+evenly matched and force them to keep the token)
Damn, you’re lowkey a marincess prodigy 👀 but I enjoyed your take on it because given those weaknesses I feel like you have to be creative with how you play it but I can definitely see it being difficult to play into boards 😬
Great profile! Not only a great budget deck, but also a great option as a placeholder for when Master Duel Worlds require you to bring a second deck, and you have no intention of playing anything other than almost-full-power Ishizu Tear.
I like to play Mrincess in MasterDuel and I really enjoy playing them with BoardBrakers. The combination of DarkRuler and Zelantis always warms my heart. Setting your towers turn one always feels good, with Argonaut your Feld-Spell is safe from duster and if the play a monster you can use wave to be uneffected.
Just so you know, Argonaut has to summon a monster equipped to itself, meaning the double link-4 play with GBR and Argonaut doesn’t work. You can, however, do some nasty stuff with double GBR - it’s a soft once on the draw, both get 1600 attack in the draw phase, AND you get a funny situation where they can’t super poly your board
Sleepy Maiden is great. Not only it helps you to extend, obviously, but it also helps you to setup Bahamut Shark/Toad on the 5th summon and still combo with Marincess. Also it enables Blue Tang alone to make 2 disruptions and that is only possible while running Sleepy Maiden. All that being a engine piece, increasing the chance of Blue Tang hitting something good and giving you more options to push. Silent Sea Neetle is good as well, extending and recycling. You can easily play both and still have room for 18 hand traps. This deck needs ways for play through because it isn't particularly "strong" in terms of establishing pressure and forcing your opponent to answer. This deck isn't really a "1-card combo" deck because you need a Starter + Extender to do a decent board(or Tang alone, if you run Sleepy Maiden) but it's one of the best decks - if not the best - in the game to play a "handtrap war". Outrageous number of tech slots and great follow up. It lacks offensive power and its extra deck has little to no toolbox at all, so until we get more good WATER links it'll be just a fair deck. Great video and it's good to see a great player like you giving Marincess a chance!
Yo I absolutely loved this, on behalf of the community, I really appreciate you taking the time to share some intricacies of this deck. We need more helpful resources like you in this community 🙏🏽
@@jessekottonygo Thank you for the content! Give this deck a go at your locals and have some fun, I'm sure you'll like it! It also has access to Abyss Dweller, which is great in this meta. Greetings from Brazil
I actually won a locals with Marincess. So I’m happy you brought this deck more to light. I like crystal heart, cuz tower protection is nice, and it applies to any ED monster in Extra deck zone, like Zealantis.
Burn effect definitely matters in time. Also chain blocking with springurl is busted even knowing you can mill because your natural combo recurs cards anyway so if you hit field spell search dive and by the time you link off coral into triangle or marbled rock it’s in your hand.
i highly highly recommend olaying 2-3 Basilalima because it protects you from the fire decks and any single marincess is a link 3 or 4 , you can discard it with mining or bury it with blue slug, discard it to search the trap... its been clutch this format for me
Jesse the GOAT! Thanks 🙏 for even putting Marincess on ppl radar it’s VERY good against fire 🔥 they really don’t have a way to remove your castle once it’s built, he’s literally just showing you guys look Marincess literally can and does beat fire at it own game. Also notice salad wasn’t chosen becuz it’s a control deck trying to be a combo deck plus every monster in ur deck is usable by ur opponent
A small note for the subtitles (great inclusion): You want them to have a bit of breathing room towards the bottom, about 70-80 pixels on a 1080p input is fine usually, as placing the subtitles too low can make it straining to read them while keeping tabs of everything else happening on-screen. If the idea here was not to block the extra deck on the DB window, consider placing the subtitles inbetween the side deck and extra deck in future videos. ^^
This is phenomenal feedback, thank you so much! We’re trying to improve and perfect each video as we progress so this really helps. Stay tuned for the videos we have coming up! 🙏🏽
My answer would be Floowandereeze or Exosister since they can maindeck Dimension Shifter, but it's great seeing that they aren't the only budget options.
The best deck i could make under 100$ was Witchcrafter Control with Branded engine. 3x Cartesia, 3x Fusion Deployment, 2x Fallen Albaz, 2x Branded Fusions and most importantly 2x Magician's Left & Right Hands to cancel first turn imperm and second turn super poly. they also pair well with Bystreet and Battle of Golgonda. Naturally with all the continuous spells and reoccur able withcrafter spells you play 1x Golden Lord. Its easy to play through and ash with this deck now and the new boss monster fusion speeds the whole deck up.
One card I like in the deck as as extender is Silent Sea Nettle. Lvl 4 Water that specials itself if you control a Water monster. It helps form Bahamut Shark into Toad on summon 5 so Nibiru is less of a threat.
I'm going to count this as reason enough to rebuild one of my favorite decks to try at locals until the new Chimera stuff is figured out. Thanks, Jesse.
I play with this deck in Brazilian locals, I like very much this deck, I play with icejades it's only 3 cards in main deck and 1 in extra deck. Icejade Ran Aegirine - 3x Icejade Gymir Aegirine - 1x It goes in place of cynet mining. It's pretty good..
springirl mill effect is huge when you bricked, you need for angel to resolve, so chain blocking for ash, crystal geart is played a lot in MD bcs we are missing toad, it protect zealantis, and lot of decks are missing now way to out spell cards
In the middle of 100 and 1,000, if you include sp and 3 ragpho, you can play salad for like 300 and its REALLY good. Not snake eyes good. But you steal matches "very" often.
MARINCESS MENTIOOOONED~ I have been preaching about this deck for like three years now and man does it feel good seeing THE big shot player talking about it. Though the deck seems relatively simple at first, marincess' development is really a delicate branch giving its pilot the space to fine tune against any given matchups and formats. The most popular version of the deck is its pure version, but there are many supplementary engines which can go alongside it, like Icejade Ran (which can make the synchro that solos FK instantly or can pivot into a link 4 without using your normal summon), the Vaylantz engine (Shinonome represents three water bodies and can make their own fusion monster or extend past Nibiru), Kashtira Ogre (one additional water body and Kashtira Preparations) or Abyss Shark. Another fun card to use is Aqua Spirit, which (not once per turn) can special herself from the hand by banishing a water from grave (NOT as a cost) and is a level four to boot, helping to make Toad. Also: play Crystal Heart (some decks just cant get rid of a towers, like Branded) Love the video, you just love to see your strategy getting highlighted like this!
WOW, this was truly insightful and thank you for sharing all the valuable information! I’m still fairly new to the deck but am falling in love with its diversity and fun play style! I’ll be taking this to locals and gonna film a video about it so stay tuned and let me know if there are better plays to make 🙏🏽
My favorite budget deck was timelord ED monarchs. It was better than True draco or Zoodiac at the time. 3x time maiden 2-3x Parallel exceed 2x Zaphion for link summons(shuffle all S/T, then draw a card Monarch cards 3xFoolish burial of goods 1x Eldlich Gizmek Orochi Seleglare Would love to see a spin on that deck. It was really good and time lords offered some time to unbrick.
@@jessekottonygo Zaphion is kinda broken, because the draw effect is not once per turn. So every reborn, draws a card. Parallel Exceed can be used for dugaress. World legacy succession can also draw a card and link climb into Lib. Many parts of the old deck might be outdated currently. The power creep since spright, tear and bystials is too much. But Zaphion into almiraj with reborns might have some broken potential. It kinda is a new version of disc commander strapped onto feather duster.
@@jessekottonygo You are obviously a great deck builder. Would be really interested and honored if you build a cool version. The other thing that might work well is, Vanquish Soul Snake Eyes. Kinda seems like Konami intended it. Just a small package of 1 or 2 Razen and the other at one, but 3x stake your Soul. My bad deck on MD seems kinda good.
Been playing this deck this format, and i have been pretty successful against snakeye. I play doulble thrust, double talents, and monster reborn instead of the prosperities and Cynet. You get nibbed a lot, so thrust into reborn is always good gas. Or thrust into wave if you get drolled after Angel. Its also fun to talents their link 4 and get your zealantis for free in the water lock. I also run water charmer to steal an opponents zealantis since most are running it.
Marincess is my favourite deck of all time after it got all its support and zealantis. Such a fun deck and there’s a lot of opportunity for skill expression.
I love marincess but i disagree with some of your choices Desires in this deck is best of prosperity because you burn trough your extra a lot Also basilalima in this format is good, two dive increases your chances of drawing and tang excavating making your plays safer
Thoughts on the budget Snake Eye Fire King list featured on Pak’s channel? (replacing wanted, blackwitch, and bonfire with SHS engine to make banshee and search ash or poplar)
Another way to play through Nibiru is if you play the link water charmer, secondly monster reborn is a good card to run because if they negate the link one search for dive, you can still get that extension to summon from grave and if they were to out your link 4 you can summon it and zealantis only needs 1 effect monster, super cheep strat lol
Thank you for this video Jesse I have been wanting to play marincess for the longest. I have everything for the deck and I was talking about it on my stream last night with one of my followers they recommended your video. I can’t wait to watch you play test the deck, and learn some combos for myself!
Been playing this deck awhile. You can play cards like Deck Lockdown and Rivarly of the Warlord to really slow down your opponents. Also cards like Mistaken Arrest don't hurt much on your turn. Monster Reborn helps against Nibiru. Me personally, turn 1, with all the HTs around, I aim to add Dive, and just go for Great Bubble Reef. I love Great Bubble Reef so much, I actually play 2 in my extra deck.
Love this insight, I’m still fairly new to the deck so definitely excited to keep learning the interesting interactions! Stay tuned for the video of me play at locals and let me know if I could’ve sequenced things better! 🙏🏽
Hey question about bubble reef the "this card gains 600atk for each" is confusing because on masterdual I've had bubble reef gain massive amounts of attack as if it was gaining attack for everything that's banished not just what was banished at that time . I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
@@shaundoyle9101Bubble Reef gains 600 ATK for each monster banished face-up, for that turn. So if 5 monsters were banished (say 4 by the opponent and 1 by yourself), it would be gaining 3000 ATK. It only counts monsters that are banished for that turn, not anything else that was banished the previous turns.
@@shaundoyle9101Yep, it continues to gain more ATK as more monsters are banished for the turn. Say 1 monster is banished, 600 ATK, later on 3 monsters are banished, that's another 1800 ATK. Bubble Reef can get pretty beefy against Dragon Link as they tend to banish a lot of monsters.
Hey Jesse, thoughts on running Icejade Ran Aegirine for extension lines past Nibiru? It's not hugely budget but I think it's often slept on in Marincess, especially when it can either pivot into Gymir (which seems quite solid if you're expecting a lot of destruction effects) or be your anemone to get you to alternate lines before you even normal summon. There's also generic 4 extensions ofc like sea nettle which gets run a lot, but I find the extra token can be very useful especially since it can make lines to marbled rock after a nibiru through the use of Eria.
Wow honestly I’m still pretty new to the deck so I have to explore the options a bit more but this seems so interesting! Will definitely look into it🙏🏽
Jesse, you should check out Shannon Long’s approach to playing Marincess. I think he cracked the code and mastered the deck, dude’s a monster Marincess player. The channel goes by the name SCHEME TCG
what do you like to banish off of prosperity ? i can’t see a good 6 cards to banish off of it that is good. that’s why i prefer desires but i’d like to hear your opinion !
for the side I was thinkg june moon with the water tournent statue you use june moon to send the water statue then you use coral to reborn the statue. I think for decks that will 100% lose if it were to hit the feild and cant get ride of it.
Superheavy Ghoti isnt great bur can play about 15 non-engine without suffering consistency. It helps that your one card combo, even if Arionpos gets negated, it doesnt need a normal summon so Kashtira helps in a non-budget build.
Not playing marincess crystal heart is a HUGE Mistake, most of the time to only way to play arund nib / veiler / imperm on your marincess coral anemone or triangle is to make crystal heart first. Your goal going first shoud be to make Marincess triangle, add the trap, and make Bubble Reef because if you resolvee the trap card on their turn bubblle reef is nearly un removable from the board except by gODDESS or kaijus. If they happen to ash your sea angel, that means theyre not ashing your triangle but still prone to get nibbed. if youre trying to go second vs fire decks, you NEED marincess basalilama in your deck to dump in the graveyard so they cant pop your stuff with the princess. basilalima was bad for a few formats when everyone was playing like kashtira, but its great vs fire. finally, i recommend another water extender such as the shark package (abyss shark, dream shark, silent angler) or silent sea nettle which helps recycle extra deck monsters as well, because your comboes will get stopped or you will draw just 1 marincess monster and not have enough to play. other than that jesse is right, i stomp fire decks all the time with marincess because theres a lot of handtraps and i can play with 1-2 monsters where as if you handtrap them its a lot harder for them to play through. i wish i could find room to fit eria so i can continue after getting nibbed sometimes but it is what it is .
As a marincess petdecker - I don't disagree with this if Pure Snake becomes the meta development, since Marincess cares much much less about negates/low impact handtraps versus the multiple pops that the Fire King cards pop out. You can play thru Savage + Baronne, you cant play through Princess+Kirin imo. The Zealantis line can also catch ppl off guard who disrespect the deck, but i think most people know about it by now sadly.
This is such valuable insight so thanks for sharing! This deck can be so much fun when piloted correctly so I’m looking forward to learning all the interactions in my next video where I play it at locals
Appreciate you drawing eyes to it! One idea you didnt bring up that has served me well (that I stole from watching Shannon Long play), when you resolve Coral Triangle in a situation where you have a Wave in GY, and your opponent still has stuff to threaten your lines, you can not use the reborn, nad just hard make a Marbled Rock, and go Coral target Wave to add it back - then play under the protection of your own Wave for the rest of your turn.
Loved this video, always happy to see people giving budget players options but i do have one criticism: subtitles are a fantastic addition for accessibility but you gotta get someone to double check them or something before the video goes out, there were a bunch of times in this video where the subtitles had really weird typos or mirrored how you talked exactly down to the letter which led to a jarring experience reading them when the typo appeared or when you would stutter a bit/have a cut. again, absolutely love this concept behind this and that subtitles are here at all but i think the subtitles could use a bit of touching up
I appreciate the helpful feedback! We’re looking to improve and perfect the content with each video for you all so we’ll definitely keep this in mind! Hope you found the video helpful 🙏🏽
As a dedicated Alien/Reptile player I have my Alien control deck with crackdown, brainwashing beam, and mass hypnosis. Jesse do you think steal effects are effective?
hey jess, what do you think about exosisters in the current format? feel like both asophiel and kaspitell are extremely good floodgates vs fire king and the ability of playing shifter is also pretty good, but as you said in the vid it dies pretty easily to hts.
Ngl love this deck to death, definitely has unique interactions, absolutely max euro rarity’d it, happy to see a GOAT give it a good look Crazy how MBT can get you to two negates, possibly a towers, soul charge from the grave. Additionally two GBR is busted especially to crazy extend your grind, end with double gbr and wave, etc
Great vid! Next time though can we get a small segment at the end for if you’re willing to spend a bit more money, what cards you’d recommend to pick up just in case?
@@jessekottonygo first top in 7 years of playing so thank you means a lot, yeah it is incredibly interesting in how it plays, and very few people actually understand the match up as they assume it functions the same as snake eye fire king which is doesn't. Jesse friend, actually marincess can play around Nibiru. You need the Abyss Shark engine. Which consists of 3 Abyss Shark, 1 Silent Angler and 1 Minairuka (Or some other fish you prefer)
The combo is:
-Normal summon tang, folish to Mandarin
-Special summon Abyss Shark, add Silent Angler -Special Silent Angler
-Make Bahamut Shark, special Toad in 5th summon
From here you make anemone and revive tang to search the field, you summon mandarin 🍊.
Your better off drawing crossout
You can already play around nibiru without playing abyss shark engine….
@@Shione_Starlight Of course, but I feel like it's a big waste of resources. You need a lot of luck and you will spend at least 3 cards for it, or 2 but your final field will not be the best. We need more diversity in these formats, especially for people who can’t afford the top tier so I’m going to make this a series! Hope you found it helpful 🙏🏽
Sweet! Think there maybe more anti fire guu out there like Shaddoll Fusion, but it’s nice that’s people can play with a fighting chance.

If the horus engine ever gets a reprint to lower the absurd $70 Imsety, I would give Ninja Horus a try as a budget player.
It will, after it becomes useless.
Maybe they reprint it right into a banish all cards send to the GY
Ninja Horus sounds like so much fun 👀
Mind if i ask What's the synergy with horus? Ninjas don't really generate advantage by getting discarded do they?
Ninja Horus? What's the goal here tho? What's your endboard looking like?
Yea ttt is definitely something I’d consider if I was trying to spend a little more and that cynet mining search is crazzzy, thanks for the guuu 🙏🏽
On how many copies are you of TTT?
@@chaosinfernoid9008 I’ve been running 2 thrust, 1 talents (you can look at your opponent’s hand if you get hit with Nibiru). It all depends on how many hand traps you’re trying to fit into your deck, though.
@@Raminator243
Seems honestly a really good ratio thanks :)
Absolutely insane interaction, so excited to take this to locals and show more interactions people aren’t use to 👀
Please make more videos for budget players, that was really helpful!!
Then after these Unchained cards skyrocketed (those 9 Abomination's Prisons would be 9x35=315$ before last banlist) those players thanked me for gifting them their first deck, keeping them instead of selling due to hype.
the links are too much money also if you are playing with no staples it will be hard cuz typhon is mandatory nowadays
Ooo this sounds like some secret guuu 👀 I’ll definitely look into it, thanks for the support! 🙏🏽
Tried it, not worth trading for handtraps. It's good but not THAT good, sadly.
Some thoughts on the deck as I've played it on and off since great bubble reef dropped
- The l5 marincess is essential for getting an equip on your argonaut without the field spell.
Abyss shark summon is also a guaranteed stealth kragen
- If you play the above cards I've found you can cut out the more fluff marincess monsters and only play them as one ofs and still have consistent opens. Adding 3 skippers and 1 for 1 means you can cut sea horse, pascalus down to 1 copy just to have the names available (I've cut pascalus entirely - it's the worst normal to play into hand traps and gives your opponent knowledge of your hand if you use its on summon eff) This build I'm running with all this still has room for 15-20 non engine
- Stealth kragen + gozen is well known but some other interactions that catch people off guard include it doing double battle damage if you summoned abyss shark that turn, and the fact that its pop + burn eff is a soft OPT, so you can go for 2 pops if you get to it and zealantis (Which is basically any marincess + abyss shark). This pretty much always means you're OTKing if you know what to do.
- Gameceil with zealantis summons back to your field
- Crystal heart sucks. There's no reason to play it
The deck does a lot with a little especially for the price.
I understand this won't replace a fire deck, but is nice from you to take the time to do these videos for all the players that do not want to break the bank with the current card prices.
im absolutely buying this deck when i can. love budget decks with a strong strategy.
More Rogue stuff would be so good, I can also absolutely recommend Raidraptor, it’s also a great choice rn
dear jesse kotton, as a life time player of marincess, i'd like to recomend a Safer line for blue tang, sending spring girl, and then adding it back with blue slug,
reason being, if you sent mandarin you're forced to go into sea angel and search dive, if you send spring girl, you go for blue slug, this will allow you to possibly play trough a imperm/veiler on blue slug since now if you get veilered blue tang's excavate 3 can search more possible extenders in the form of 2 spring girl.
I’m not gonna lie, prosp can be rough but when you need to see an extender it’s op. Taking this to locals this week so stay tuned soon 👀

Also chain blocking with springurl is busted even knowing you can mill because your natural combo recurs cards anyway so if you hit field spell search dive and by the time you link off coral into triangle or marbled rock it’s in your hand.
i highly highly recommend olaying 2-3 Basilalima because it protects you from the fire decks and any single marincess is a link 3 or 4 , you can discard it with mining or bury it with blue slug, discard it to search the trap... its been clutch this format for me
Add in the adventure package, i play it in my build. Minus 8 handtraps. An silent sea nettle is solid in the deck too.
Bro as a hard of hearing person. I’m grateful that you add subtitles, make me understand yugioh more!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🤟🏻😇
Jessie the goat helping the poor people out like myself! Gotta love it!
With how expensive decks have been getting, ANY budget options are welcome to see just to add some variety to the format.
Also recycles your Extra Deck monsters
Sleepy maiden targets a Marincess CARD you control, not a monster. It's how you're supposed to protect the field spell.
I'm going to count this as reason enough to rebuild one of my favorite decks to try at locals until the new Chimera stuff is figured out. Thanks, Jesse.
Definitely do it! It’s such a fun deck to pilot and has so many interesting interactions this format so let me know how it goes!
My first week with Fire King Snake-Eye at my locals, Marincess was one of the decks I lost to. It was very fun to watch go.
I play with this deck in Brazilian locals, I like very much this deck, I play with icejades it's only 3 cards in main deck and 1 in extra deck.
Icejade Ran Aegirine - 3x
Icejade Gymir Aegirine - 1x
It goes in place of cynet mining.
MARINCESS MENTIOOOONED~
I have been preaching about this deck for like three years now and man does it feel good seeing THE big shot player talking about it.
Also: play Crystal Heart (some decks just cant get rid of a towers, like Branded)
Love the video, you just love to see your strategy getting highlighted like this!
WOW, this was truly insightful and thank you for sharing all the valuable information! I’m still fairly new to the deck but am falling in love with its diversity and fun play style! 3x time maiden
2-3x Parallel exceed
2x Zaphion for link summons(shuffle all S/T, then draw a card
Monarch cards
3xFoolish burial of goods
1x Eldlich
Gizmek Orochi
Seleglare
Would love to see a spin on that deck.

Zaphion is kinda broken, because the draw effect is not once per turn.

You are obviously a great deck builder.
I agree and the deck is so much fun with creative gameplay so I’m excited to share the video of me taking it to locals!

Sooo where is the follow up video to this 😅 what were the results on your locals and such
I love marincess but i disagree with some of your choices
Desires in this deck is best of prosperity because you burn trough your extra a lot
Also basilalima in this format is good, two dive increases your chances of drawing and tang excavating making your plays safer
This decks matchup into snake eyes is usually die roll dependent. At least in my experience.
Full power floo is insanely strong and literally only costs $30. The only downside is you might occasionally be called slurs
It’s a safety hazard to play floo right now 😂
Thoughts on the budget Snake Eye Fire King list featured on Pak’s channel? (replacing wanted, blackwitch, and bonfire with SHS engine to make banshee and search ash or poplar)
I would love to see your version of BA. More specifically non budget but not all the money in max rarity more so a best version possible.
If both prosperity and mining are issues, why not use desires? Especially for the amount of non-engine you use?
Finding cheap Pots of Prosperity is a bit of a mission though.
I have pretty much all the rest of these cards.
Found some on eBay, about $64NZ for a playset, which isn't too bad.
Would the water statue help against getting neb? Ir might also help against fire kings, idk
@@ZhugeLiang0 Ah yes that makes sense , does it continue to gain attack for the rest of the turn as cards are banished ?
Will definitely look into it🙏🏽
sleepy maiden can target a marincess *card* (not just a monster), so it can add a layer of protection for the field spell
Oooo this is absolutely fire🔥 thanks so much for the insight!
Nice content! How do you go about the deck being less able to assemble lethal on the first turns, compared to other decks?
There are so many Decks I would try with the Horus engine, like Chimera, but those damn prices are so ridiculous
I put a floowandereeze deck into TCGPlayer and it was just over $40, assuming you have 15 random extra deck cards laying around
Crossout designator helps against nibiru also solid budget deck I used to like is Umi lock with ocean lord Kyrushin
Keep up the budget options! This deck looks fun to try!
Been playing this deck since the new support came out in LED9! love to see it get some love and attention from the Ultimate Duelist!! great video!
Love this deck and so happy to have been put on to it this meta! Hope you’re getting some wins this format!
Loved this video, always happy to see people giving budget players options but i do have one criticism:
subtitles are a fantastic addition for accessibility but you gotta get someone to double check them or something before the video goes out, there were a bunch of times in this video where the subtitles had really weird typos or mirrored how you talked exactly down to the letter which led to a jarring experience reading them when the typo appeared or when you would stutter a bit/have a cut.
again, absolutely love this concept behind this and that subtitles are here at all but i think the subtitles could use a bit of touching up
I appreciate the helpful feedback! We’re looking to improve and perfect the content with each video for you all so we’ll definitely keep this in mind! Hope you found the video helpful 🙏🏽
how do you play thru Nib?
My current build is ZHT (Zombie Horus Tearlaments) and as a rouge player, talks like this peak my interest.
can I have the list?
i think ghoti is a good option, its cheap and its fun to play.
I used to run a Dark Law Water + Toadaly Awesome deck back when Norden and Instant Fusion were unlimited 😂
What do you think about tribrigade fire king? i built a relatively cheap version for around 120$ and it seems to work well
Ayyyy let’s gooo 🔥 keep it up and let me know how it goes this format, you might have just broke the deck 👀
Dinomorphia can play up to 15 handtraps including shifter, doesnt lose to handtraps and can run judgement or strike at a plus👀
Wow, is dinomorphia the guuu? 👀
Wouldn't talents and crossout would be good replacements for prosperity and mining?
Best budget option will always be tripple d shifter floodgate decks.
An iconic duo of course 😂
Jesse I am going to upload my Competitive Sharks Deck Profile. I think you should try Sharks in your locals. The deck has so many secret mechanics
Hey so in my marincess list I run three tenyi spirit shatana as well as three silent sea nettles in here. What are your thoughts on that?
Ngl love this deck to death, definitely has unique interactions, absolutely max euro rarity’d it, happy to see a GOAT give it a good look
Crazy how MBT can get you to two negates, possibly a towers, soul charge from the grave. Additionally two GBR is busted especially to crazy extend your grind, end with double gbr and wave, etc
EXACTLY! I genuinely love the diversity it provides in terms of interactions and it’s such a fun deck to play 🙏🏽
@@jessekottonygo btw getting water locked easily makes it so you get lullaby add to hand guarantee like princess dead ☠️
Ifyou have an S:P what would you swap out theoretically?
i keep saying this to my buddies at locals, marincess is a solid option this format
Thoughts on Melodious as a budget option post Legacy of Destruction? It's slowly picking up week after week in OCG with newest support.
i don’t know it it’s within budget, but what about phantazmay in the main?
Combos video would be nice new to the game something in this price range seems good to get started
Can't wait bro, I really wanna watch how you play it
Plss we need a showcase at locals
Ok only since you asked 💪🏽
Great vid! Next time though can we get a small segment at the end for if you’re willing to spend a bit more money, what cards you’d recommend to pick up just in case?
Ooo this could be a dope integration to series! Stay tuned to seeing me play it at locals 🙏🏽
My go to Budget and overall deck this format until april is Superheavy Samurai
Ooooo I feel like this deck is slept on 👀
@@jessekottonygo fr?
Honestly fire king dogmatika, got 4th at an ots tournament getting my invite to euros with it and it is relatively cheap.
Let’s goooo, congrats! Definitely seems like an interesting deck 💪🏽
@@jessekottonygo first top in 7 years of playing so thank you means a lot, yeah it is incredibly interesting in how it plays, and very few people actually understand the match up as they assume it functions the same as snake eye fire king which is doesn't. Whilst having a good amount of room for non engine as I am currently playing 16 hand traps.
Whenever I see this deck, I'm just reminded of Marinesuss.
I love this 😂
Man’s got a new editor and let him go CRAZY! 😂
