- I’ve gotten quite a few comments in regards to the short segment in the video to where I step onto the porch from the Hocus Pocus house and proceed to film on the porch and briefly through the door.
I do not condone this behavior and wish I never did it.
I always ask for permission before filming nowadays, and respect people’s privacy and property as much as I can. This was a few years ago and I wasn’t thinking. My sincere apologies to the homeowner for being disrespectful.

Am I the only person who thinks it’s incredibly rude to be trespassing on the property at 4 Ocean Avenue (the Hocus Pocus house)? I’m pretty sure Dot, the owner, doesn’t appreciate it.
If I lived there I wouldn't mind people taking photos by it, but I definitely would not like people filming through my windows. Not cool.
@@sarahcheever2229 Well YOU don't live there, someone else does and people need to respect other's property and boundaries. He went up on to the porch and filmed into the window on their door into their PRIVATE SPACE. You just don't do that shit.
No you are not alone in that thought @Alixandra Hice . Not only did this guy help himself up onto their property, he filmed inside their home through a window. What an annoying, disrespectful thing to do. Some people think homes used in movies are like public domain or something, they're NOT, and people live in them. It's one thing to drive or walk by and snap a few pics, but going up onto their porch and invading their privacy is incredibly rude!
@Dana B 100% correct. I had the pleasure of catching Miss Dot outside her house last year and she sweetly agreed to speak with me for a few minutes. She even allowed me to video a short little impromptu interview about her experience while her home was used in film production for the movie. She is one of the nicest people I ever met. I sent her a gift card in appreciation for her time (and to try to mitigate the annoyance factor). I can assure you there are always folks loitering around that house, but most keep a respectful distance and just snap photos. Dot takes it all in stride, but I don’t think her husband is amused by the attention. I wonder if Disney will revisit the Hocus Pocus House in the upcoming sequel?

Why are they stalking someones house wierdos...
It's the house used in the cult classic Halloween film HOCUS POCUS. Many fans of the movie make the trek to Salem, MA, and the surrounding areas to view the film's locations, including this house. The owner apparently doesn't mind.
Yeah, we have a lot of places you can visit, a good amount are historical and even haunted houses!
