Its good to keep some history alive. The good parts anyway.
*Medieval
Well it's still cool to see
i see this as an absolute win

Im surprised one of them didn't run behind a corner and came back with a gank squad.
If this was a Cent VS Aramusha, I don't think they would come home in a part.
For honor!
With orochis.
good to see medieval stuff is still emulated and not totally forgotten!
But this isn't even close to being historically accurate. If you wanna know how real medieval sword fighting looked like, check out HEMA (historical european martial arts.

@@dumusstarbeiten5063 not at all shut up
@@dumusstarbeiten5063 HEMA isn-t acurate either they think they are accurate but they are not...They only guess...I asked a soldier who went to war 20 years ago what type of helmet he used he could not say...So if a man fighting 20 years ago didn-t knew what he had of equipment and that was during his life time how do we know how back then they fought if it was 5 centuries ago...Even I can-t remember what I wore a day I had a school fight some 20 years ago...I can-t say what I was wearing yesterday...
@@dumusstarbeiten5063 im sure that a fight between nobles looks a lot more like in this Video than in your own example. Theres a difference between a show fight with all the trained techniques and a fight on a real battlefield.
Watching this made me realize how effective flame thrower would be in the middle ages hah.
Darko Kreculj incendiary weapons were used in various forms to some extent throughout most of history. And yes, some of them were quite effective. Especially against dense formations or strongholds. Plate armor and gambeson would keep the flames away, but the heat would transfer pretty quickly. You could probably walk off a little bit of fire no problem, but if you can't get out or can't get it off of you quickly than you're screwed.
I can't remember when, but primitive flamethrowers were used in ancient times. Mainly in naval warfare. The most famous example i have found was the use of Greek Fire by the Byzantine Empire starting in AD 672. It was most similar to napalm and could burn while floating on water.
And yes, sometimes it would be projected and funneled in a way similar to a flamethrower, albeit not as compact.
Imagine being boiled alive in your own sweat

Dracarys!!! Lol
this armor would be pretty good against zombies
Yea.. super heavy armor against hundreds of zombies. Im sure you could run very far away from them before 200zombies on you at once can in anyway rip off your armor.
Claus with A K weights around 30kg at best, it's also tailored to distribute the weight evenly thought your body, minimizing fatigue and maintaining the center of mass. It also has a metal mail underneath and substantial padding behind it.
francisco safar 30 seems on the light side though, google says arouns 42-50.. but even if, lets talk about mobility and overheating
Claus with A K the weight depends on the suit of armor your are talking about, funny but later suits like the full plated gothic armor actually weight's less than the older stiles.
Now talking about mobility.....it doesn't restrict you that much, you can actually see demonstrations in youtube, just tipe "medieval armor mobility" and you will see a lot of results.
Claus with A K and about overheating, well that the only point I would give you, breathing in a full suit of armor starts to get really difficult after some time, luckily for us people in medieval times noticed this so later suits of armor started to have things like visor's that you can take on and off without disarming it.
I would love to see how ACTUAL medieval knights would do against these guys lmfao
Ilyaas Arsala Those guys will probably die
Ilyaas Arsala The answer is Very well.
One would be on the ground with a dagger through his visor or in his ass.
Meh, I don't think that it would be as one sided as you would think
Both of these guys do know proper sword fighting, but the tournament bans thrusting, bashing, half swording, and murder strokes. And since you win by points there is less reason for legitimate technique and more so just sword touches get points.
Imagine being a peasant drafted to the front lines to fight against full armor with a pitch fork. The horror
If he's drafted to the front line, i don't think he'll get a pitch fork xD
I guess he would get a spear
@@chinois11 i cant imagine ur only given a pitch fork when drafted in medieval times i would have thought u get like a open sallet, gambeson and a sword or spear atleast.
Supa Mario Some get a club. And a club do absolutely well against armor.
@@chinois11 Peasants would definitely have pitchforks, scythes, axes, clubs, and other farming tools that they converted into weapons. Most people were conscripted into wars regardless of what their status was and usually had to provide their own weapons. That's why knights in armor were a thing...not everyone could afford to own or maintain swords and armor. But if they survived a battle then they could pillage equipment from the battlefield.
Slightly more balanced when you have a longbow.

OK, it's not how they would have fought in Medieval times but those blows could still do some damage and hurt the combatants. It IS a full contact sport!

These are always fun to watch. It’s be great if we actually had anything like this where I live. Ah, good old rural America.
Our version of this would be guys reenacting the civil war with live ammunition
@@wackadoodle8951 it’s true, we got no chill in rural America.
@Floron he knows
It's clear that these two were trained the same way, but have different drills and basics. Blue reloads his attacks to the side of his opponent and Black hits both sides of the body when he does so. Black also has the idea of attacking the lower arms of his opponent to weaken grip and potentially damage output, but he seems to have lost some steam to Blue's consistent body attacks as well.
This is what happens in youtube algorythm when you watch too much Mordhau videos.
Exactly
Yes sir, of course.

1:36 I love how the right guy has his sword stabbing the other's neck and he just keeps going forward into it and keeps swinging.
Armour saved him, lol.
0:55 That block tho DAMN
Man legit parried like Anakin Skywalker.
This came up at HEMA. Tournament fighters do not fear the blade. With the group I train with, we train in the unarmored style. You take much greater care not to get hit yourself as much if not more than hitting the other guy.
That's how we fought too and imo its a ton more fun
I am going to joing a training tonight, I am very curious. Have trained martial art for 13 years, but the sword has always facinated me.

Anyone else wish we could get a time traveling knight in there who just straight up knocks them out cold with one blow?
Like "Ah yes! A test of arms! Finally something familiar!"
*pulverizes the uninitiated*
A real knight would probably lose to these guys. They were not magical beings they were shorter and smaller than modern men and sword fighting like this isnt about any skill its mostly size and force.
@@berk7944 Are you literally mentally disabled? This is the dumbest comment I've seen all week.
Knights were a class of men who did NOTHING BUT TRAIN specifically for mounted and armored battle. Their lives were based on military duty from the time they were like 15. They had no television, no video games... not even any books. They had their swords, and they trained constantly.
@@berk7944 shorter but not by large margin. Its not like they short as midgets.
Infact, knights were known to be among the tallest for their time because of their better nutrition.
And back in the day, knights had more manual work meaning more muscle endurance and were trained vigorously to kill.
I've seen short stocky wrestlers lifting, slamming and knocking out taller guys cold.
@@berk7944 That is a bullshit statement. A knight, trained from his early age, would definitely wreck anyone in this.
Sorry but he would get his ass kicked. People nowadays are way taller and stronger. Average male in medieval era had 174-175 cm. So tall men were like 180-185. U can easily find guys over 190 cm nowadays.
¡que grande eres Victor¡ ¡enhorabuena campeón¡
This really underlines the value of the war hammer. We got worse injuries playing with sticks as kids than these guys do fully armored... Obviously they aren't trying to actually kill each other, but if most of these blows were dealt by a weighted pick at the end of a long handle then somebody's going to the emergency room, I imagine.
4:30 "FUS RO DAH"
Fonce dans le tas * mean Rush him in French
Nah fus ro dah is more funny
Was really expecting better swordsmanship from these guys.
If stabs and murder strokes were allowed then I feel like we would have seen that. But they only allow slashes and you get points for the most slash contacts so they would lose if they tried to make it pretty.
Also hilt bashes count too, that's why the black night won, he was bashing the shit outa his helmet.
Also half-swording
@@TyDieMusic None of them were parrying, or trying to get better positioning, it was just whacking with slabs of steel....that doesn't require a hell of a lot of skill tbh.

Gemme a second let me unscrew my pommel!
So a lot of people are bashing on this video saying they have no skill they're just bashing away at each other. As someone who practices historical swordsmanship, i can see these guys are skilled at what they do, they're just playing a different game. From what i can tell the purpose of the tournament is to land as many blows on your opponent as you can. They're not trying to kill or disable each other, but particuarly in the exchange starting at around 3:00, you can see they're blocking and parrying each other decently well. They know what they're doing, they're just not playing the game you think they are.
This is what me and my brother looked like back in the day with our toy lightsabers
Des super combattant impressionnant !
tbh, this looks fun to do, I would enjoy myself quite good in the medieval times
This looks cool, but in real medieval dueling, there was a lot less slashing. The longsword was developed to thrust at armored joints, particularly the armpits, since those areas had less armor.
Yeah, but thrusting is banned in this sport. Too dangerous.
Gonna move to Europe just to get onto this !!

This is honestly how medieval fighting looked, sure you had your Noble fancy duel like fighting here and there. But mostly it was rough high contact and dirty like this.
This as nothing in common with actual medieval fighting
I've always wondered how they wore those helmets that had no padding. Now I see they wore the padding separately.

New mordhau ranked footage looks really good
So I get these are not real battles and all. But what's the point? Just clashing steel? As an MMA fan, I'm trying to figure out what's considered a hit or a point. All I see is steel clashing on purpose.
If you hit the body the right way with the sword 1p for every hit
And jabbing or murder strokes is immediate disqualification I think
In MMA you just hit skin x)
It amazes me the amount of people who claim 'They're just bashing eachother, they would die so quick in a real fight' or 'They aren't using proper techniques'
Yeah, because they don't want to kill eachother, it's a tournament based on points. Battle of the Nations, IMCF etc are recreating TOURNAMENTS not a real medieval battlefield. If you want proper technique then look at armoured HEMA or just HEMA in general, which a lot of us HMB guys practice anyway.
Yeah, I don't know what they expect... Bring back gladiator fights the the death ? Then it would be realistic and historically accurate right ?
Never mind that the tournament rules ban certain techniques a lot of the time, like half swording etc. so you’re pretty much limited to whipping each other anyway. I just like all the idiots saying a real knight would cleave an arm off and insta win the fight. Guess they’ve watched too much fantasy bs.
The fact that people don't see them succesfully blocking, exploiting openings, and stepping out of range amazes me even more

The battle stops when someones fingers are hitten😂 who remembers his stick fights in childhood☝🏼
I can proudly say I wasn't the one who bitched and quit in those times
Wouldnt just using your armored fists be more effective?
Not as effective as taking the pommel or crossguard to the face
What’s better? Punching at 45 mph(the average human swing speed)or using a five pound metal stick with more leverage and force multiplier swung at 45 mph?
