If you plan to revisit the game, I would say the best class is like the best guitar: When you look at it, you want to grab and play it. Some classes have really complicated mechanics, but that was the kind of thing that helped me enjoy the process while grinding through the story (Love my Shadow Dancer). Excluding the creator and dark knight (strong, but doesn't feel like the same game), a person can start with what looks cool when looking at advancements. All classes will be able to get through PvE with little trouble. If you have zero opinion, I would say my favorites were: Knight - lightbringer has great aoe, defensive options, movement options, great buffs, spammable skills. Became my main because it was the easiest to farm gear on. f.Priest - Inquistor has great aoe, spammable super holds (prevents monsters/bosses from doing anything), neat cancels to learn, BURN THE HERETIC. By learning proper timings, I could still be helpful in late game dungeons/raids with bad gear.
Creator is the only class you shouldn't use at the start, it's the only one with a different set of gameplay using the keyboard to move and mouse to attack and cast skills, it's an advanced class only for those who are crazy enough to use it.
Lol Creator class is the worst to start with for learning the game, since as u say its controls different then every other class with that WASD and mouse, then its attacks combining elements to make skills, is like Invoker from dota2. You used to have to be level 70 to make Creator or Dark Knight since they control differently. As for the cash shop the events throw that go constantly hp potions and life tokens at you that people laugh that they even sell them in the shop since players usually have thousands for free. But for sure the Neo Premium contract is pretty p2w for progression just for the fatigue for sure lol. And the avatar packages come with very strong BIS title's, aura's, pets that u cant get otherwise, so those gear slots are cash item required and or buy off auction house. Funny you mention lost ark because yes lost ark is highly inspired by DFO, u can see quite a few of the classes are directly inspired by ones from dfo, the party system with the synergies and supports are the same as dfo's. The raid system isnt the same however. DFO's raids function more like FF14's Alliance style raids but each party from 2-4 party's of 4 is in a different dungeon instances, on the raid map clearing dungeons to open up other parts of the raid map, trigger buffs, debuffs, stop raid wipes and stagger bosses in other dungeons for other party's so they get burst windows to clear the phase. Some raids have you fighting the same boss at the same hp bar but the parties are still in different instances but u have gimmicks that effect other party's. Its why in the raids u can see like 4 dif color hp bars at the bottom going down each color shows how much each party is dealing to the raid boss out of its total dark red hp bar.
One thing I'd say you're missing in terms of describing gameplay is that it's much more like traditional fighters than the mmorpg 123 click gameplay. Though you can play that way (minus the mouse) you actually cannot use all your skills without at least SOME inputs. I play with mostly inputs & it's essentially mmorpg street fighter. I've got normals set up on hot keys, certain buffs. Then the actual moves are all down with notations. It makes the game so much more engaging & separates it from ANY other mmorpg.
Elsword was a great game but it feels so weird nowadays. Like 10 years ago it was full of players and avatar sets were special. Gameplay was amazing. You had to really think about what skills you invest into. Now it feels very shallow and empty
@@penthactussoul very true. at this point it just feels like grinding dailies and i really wish it was easier to get more cosmetics because it has some of the best customization in any game that ive ever played and that alone keeps me checking in on here and there but the game itself is so bland now.
@@BETTERTHANYOULOLZ Yeah couldnt agree more. I played it a lot with my older sister and seeing so many players in EVERY region was awesome. I felt like Im just one of many who wants to stick out, so many people to meet, talk to and play with. Now I feel like Im in a ghost town in every region. The latest regions are supposedly always full but I really miss those days where I would see so many newbies while I was grinding my new char, progressing through the regions. But Im gonna play with my sister again soon because of the new miner character and see how it is
As a Nexon player and closed beta player when time gate was endgame, I can safely say, game is better than ever, nothing is gatekept anymore, everyone has a chance, new events come and go, every big patch theres a lvl up event also, last lvl up event was 2 characters and this one is also 2 characters, in this game you don't necessarily needs extra toons, but you also want to see how other character do, Game is let's say, Pay 2 fast, you get more "Fame" from some items if you suffer from FOMO and buy them directly with real money, like me, but I will always recommend farming gold and buy it with it, I know f2p who are at the top leadeboard of raids, so no need to pull the wallet.
my ghad ... the amount of time i needed to catch up for those who whaled was unreachable =_= im from POE and for my experience, POE seems to respect my time and can do endgame content as OP and purely free! as a Free to play player my experience was worst than the other games like maplestory i can't enjoy my character grinding and progressing because of the fatigue system .. even you reach those inaccessible/endgame content, if you got team up with those who pay, you'll embarrass yourself :D
Amazing game but the player base is so small that you will often solo content and have a hard time getting into parties unless your paying money. If you dont meet player requirements which is almost always above dungeon requirement than they will gatekeep and lock you outta raids, legions, and other dungeons. This game is pretty tough for F2P players
Only thing I dislike about DFO is that its way too easy until you reach lvl110 or sth. Everyone does the story mode solo with ease. You one shot bosses and rush through the missions etc.
I played this since global launch . It is really depressing that they still insist on that frankly stupid fatigue system . Being limited in gameplay is a KR thing . I wish they would do away with it already . It's the only reason I know people including myself who just stopped playing DFO at all .
Yeah they tried that in Nexon, and guess what? It completely ruined the entire economy of the game, and the game was infested with bots. Fatigue should stay. If you want to play more, make a new character. The game HIGHLY encourages you to make alts
I'm loving it so far, just reached lv 100. Really loving this game
Is it grindy and is it p2w?

Been years since I unlocked it but don't you need level 70 with a character to unlock?
@@precuncaraili Idk how it was in the past but nowadays you can simply create it, it's unlocked to everyone
