Boy they sure had some great hits in '62! I love these songs. I remember our milk delivery, can't remember the brand, had some kind of sale going on. I think it was if you bought some icecream, you got a free record. It was the "Peppermint Twist"! Mom bought it so I could get the record!
I was born in 1952 so I remember all these songs, those years went by so fast, life was simpler, the music was happier, people were friendlier, now in 2024 its like living in the twilight zone, or outer limits, its nice to listen to these songs and reflect on how things once were, once upon a time in a galaxy far far away.
Hi Sonny I've gotten to this wonderful segment. I love all the songs and enjoy singing along with each song. Thank you Sonny for posting these wonderful songs ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Oooh how we vas twisting in my teenage, just to music like this! Now i'm 73 and sometime i am twisting to goood music like now!! Thank's for sharing such music to us!❤🤗🥰
January 1962, I was all of 4 years old. The radio always played at home. These songs are remembered all too well. The deep tone, baritone note on "Good Luck Charm" especially tickled my childish laughter back when. And, now, the list of those hit songs make me see just how sassy in sophistication Connie Francis really was.
In January 1962 I was all of 6 years old -- WAY older than 4! Most of the 1962 hits I never heard (at home) or don't remember but it was still a sweet time. Hard to believe it was over 60 years ago (most post-2000 popular music either isn't music, is overproduced, or has no innocence or passion).
This is the year I was born - thanks! The year before, in 1961, a popular song was "Take Good Care of my Baby" by Bobby Vee. This was the song my biological mother always remembered me by after she gave me up for adoption at birth. When I finally met her nearly 40 years later, she told me that. 🥲
❤❤❤❤ Sonny Sonny Sonny!! Ok, so far this one is my very favorite mix of 62!! Ahh, So Good! So glad I went searching for more of your posts! I just can't quit you! 😀😉
Yes, give me some Johnny Angel. Thank you. I remember seeing The Donna Reed Show and Shelley Fabares singing Johnny Angel in this episode. I remember her saying she was scared to death to sing that song. I thought she sang it beautifully. ❤️👍
Johnny Angel is fun and nostalgic but it is followed by the amazing sound of Elvis at his best singing "Good Luck Charm.". His sound is not only brilliant but it is loaded with masculine charisma. Plus his musicians and backup singers are top notch. No wonder the girls swooned and screamed when he was on stage.
My four favorite songs from this era are all instrumentals: "Wonderland By Night" (Bert Kaempfert), "Last Date" (Floyd Cramer), "Stranger on the Shore" (Acker Bilk), and "Theme From A Summer Place" (Percy Faith). No matter how bad I'm feeling, hearing these songs always makes it better. Thanks Sonny, for keeping these songs alive for us!
What was great at the time was that most singers didn't take themselves seriously. They could laugh at themselves along with us.None of the hang ups of today. .
it's the 1st time that 2 female singers have a consecutive #1 Connie Francis[31st March-6th April] and Shelley Fabares[7th April- 20th April]. the 2nd time was 1973 with Roberta Flack[31st March-6th April] and Vicki Lawrence[7th April-20th April] What a coincidence wowwwwww same dates.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was freshman at Bella Vista High School...8301 Madison Ave Fair Oaks, California... anyone remember a song Amy?...Talking bout Amy she's my girl...Google doesn't remember
Nice of you to play the whole song. Just for fun. Why do all DJ’s play just the #1’s In a survey? I use to listen to CKLW out of Windsor Canada back in the 60’s. The Big 8 . I always thought that it would be interesting what song’s only got that high. Pick your stations number. Or just make one up. Bet you would be surprised .And probably some darn good stories.

I left school 1962music was great to listen to then still listening to it today long may it continue
This was the year I was born, however I have always liked older years records. Great records released in my birth years.
I was a junior in high school. I remember doing all these dances. Loved the songs in this era

Strangers on the show was my favorite, thanks for the memories
I do agree!
It was a great year!!
Too bad we don't have more people doing instrumentals to hearing to see the greatest abilities all instruments
Graduated HS that year and enjoyed Century 21, the Seattle World's fair.
We drove from Palos Verdes to the San Fernando Valley to a place called the Cinnamon cinder and watched chubby perform, golly those were great times
Thanks again Sonny
Love it! Keep them coming please!
Just love the way these are put together by top ten of each year! Have not heard some of these since then❤

The days when just about every teenager knew all the words to just about every song on AM radio . I was 14 .
Those songs were from the year I was born that was my special year
why was Johnny Angel blocked from UA-cam ?
The usual reason...copyright infringement. For the life of me I could never figure out why.
Maybe a girl loving a guy freaks them out? Never know these days.
THIS SONG WAS NOT 1962 I WAS DANCING TO IT IN BRISTOL 1960 OR 1961 NOT 1962
C'mon give me a break...The Twist hit #1 in 1962 also.
"The Twist" hit #1 in both 1960 and 1962!🤔😊👍
Never seen such poor standing for the backing vocals of Johnny Angel. They looked miserable as if they were not interested in singing at all! AWFUL!
