How to Calculate Total Earth Fault Loop Impedance Part 2 - Applying a Temperature Factor to R1 + R2

- In part 2 Marcus looks once again at calculating the total earth fault loop impedance of a circuit and explains the elements of the formula Zs = Ze + (R1 + R2). The video looks at how we can add a temperature factor to the calculated values of R1 + R2 which is the the resistance of the line conductor added to the resistance of the CPC. By using the temperature factors found in the On-Ste Guide this means the designer of the circuit can use the 100% values of the maximum earth fault loop impedance found in BS7671 and not the rule of thumb 80% of this value.

how do I calculate R1+R2 if i havent been given the length tho 😭
Measure the resistance of L and CPC of a circuit being connected at the CU unit from the furthest point. They did a video on this.
@@Jonesy551 Thank you bro.
Is 1 mm normal in the UK??🤔🤔
Not really, in many cases 1.5mm/1.00 cpc is used for most lighting installations.
