eye patches for correcting a "lazy eye", many little girls have to patch. It takes a toll on their self-confidence. Also, I would love to see a weighted vest and other sensory items used by children with ADS (autism spectrum disorder) .

I agree! maybe an eye kit too, with like a letter chart or a 3D card...I've got lazy eyes, and I even got a surgery but it didn't work so as a kid I wore eye patches (never bothered me but I hated being deprived of half of my eyesight) so I feel like I'd relate too...
This is amazing!! I'm type one diabetic. You use the log by putting your blood sugars for breakfast lunch dinner and bedtime along with how many carbs you eat for breakfast lunch and dinner and how many units of insulin you take.
American girl should make a blind cane and an IV pole with accessories for dolls.

I think it's really awesome how diverse AG is. From all of the skin tones, the historical girls which educate about different cultures, the option for bald dolls for girls with cancer, the diabetes kit, the guide dog kit, it really helps young girls feel included.
This is the best thing they have ever done I’m 12 and I was diagnosed when I was five and two of my uncles also have it and diabetes is a really hard to see disease to do when you are anywhere from like 1 to20 so I think this is a good thing they are doing for little girls or boys who have been diagnosed

It's so sweet that they're teaching kids about these illnesses and disabilities! When I was growing up, some of the other kids got almost scared when they saw me with my needles or blood monitors, and it was really hurtful so it's lovely to see that an effort is being made to educate children on these matters
I couldn't relate more! Kids would look at me like I'm crazy when I get my finger poked at school. I love that they make dolls with different things so more kids can learn abt this stuff!

Aside from the bg monitor it wasn’t a pump it was a dexcom cgm which is a continuous glucose monitor

Marie 5906 im honestly curious so don't take this the wrong way but I thought you were born with diabetes? How do you get it?
Natalya L it’s an auto immune disease (I recommend looking T1D up, although I have it I’m not the greatest at explaining) which means that the body attacked the pancreas (it can happen at any age starting from two months to older but common it children hence why it’s also called a juvenile diabetes) but your pancreas produces insulin. People who have type one diabetes have to take in insulin in multiple ways. Such as inhaler style, pens, vials And syringes, and pumps.

The logbook is for writing down your blood sugars , usually at each meal, as well as writing how many carbs you eat and how much insulin you bolus. This helps to see any trends occurring that may need to be corrected

I actually love this idea for little kids that have diabetes
It's good for them to learn more about the illness and to have a companion just like them!
My friend Bria has a kid just like this and she's in the third grade and I just really wanted to take a moment and say that I wish that like everybody could live normally nobody had to be sick nobody had to be anything basically nobody ever has to go through pain even though I don't type 1 diabetes I don't know if it's pain or not but yeah I just wish nobody had to suffer like if you agree

My little brother got Type 1 diabetes a week after his second birthday. He was injections for a while, but then they moved him on to an insulin pump because he hated the injections so much, and he was so young that the hospital gave him one.

They should make it so you can choose like if you have an artificial foot you can get one on your doll :3 Because earlier on Christmas my mom told me a girl got her doll with an artificial foot for Christmas and it warmed my heart ❤️

I have type one diabetes. It’s hard to live with, all the highs and lows and never really doing anything normal. I have never been to a sleepover, and I haven’t ever been to anyplace big without my parents. It’s sad because I also have celiac disease where I cant eat wheat, barley, or rye. No bread, pasta, cake, pizza.... the list goes on and on. I have no idea what its like to live without it, since I was diagnosed at 4 and am now 11. If you are like me, I recommend diabetes camp. There is a location in Colorado that I go to, and it changed my whole life. It’s rough. At least 5 shots a day, along with maybe 10 finger pokes. It’s awful, my parents used to have to hold me down to get my shot. I was genuinely scared. Now, I can deal with the pain. But I’m happy to be alive. Also, on accuracy of the video, no one seems to have noticed that she called a glucose tracker, or cgm an insulin pump... but otherwise its pretty good..

I think they should make a service dog gear. Not just guide handles. But all kinds of gear you’d find on all service dogs.
I hope that they have an inhaler for people with asthma. Lots of people who even have just the slightest touch of asthma still use an inhaler.

My mom almost died from type 1 diabetes because she would drink water constantly and she didn't know about it until she couldn't breathe and she was throwing up on the couch and we had to call an ambulance. She almost died from it I don't understand how the doll set is suppose to be fun tbh.

I have T1D and i had since I was 3 and a half 7 years. I must say for myself that diabetes has been hell so far, but for all u guys out there with T1D if u are getting bullied or u hate it it’s ok because u will have it and u will be ok.
