Love Joe. There are definitely better announcers but I love hearing his voice on telecasts and appreciate that he knows when to be quiet at just the right moments.

I really like Joe Buck. The story of his dad dying is beautiful. If he is ever announcing baseball, I’ll watch no matter what. I think he makes it exciting. I wish he would have never left Fox.

It's human psychology. We weigh biases against what we like stronger than biases against what we dislike due to our "fight or flight" survival mentality that still dominates our brain from the days of our ancestors. So when Joe Buck either says or does something (or nothing) that can be perceived as being against our team or singing the praises of the other team, he gets knocked for it because now all of a sudden "Joe Buck hates my team."
The man can't win at all. When he calls a home run, if he says anything, he's seen as playing favorites, but when he says nothing, he's seen as playing favorites as well.
Kyle Davis He got in via nepotism (his admission). So right off the bat he's privileged. Add to that fact he gets to do most sports fans' dream job. And he used to sound really disinterested doing it. Also, they gave him baseball and football. And I believe golf when Fox started airing the US Open. And his voice can sound grating. He can also be judgmental. And he doesn't seem very genuine. Basically, sports fans can't get away from him. I think he's improved lately, at least wrt his enthusiasm.

I actually really liked Buck until noticing his peculiar crush on Aaron "Raccoon Eyes" Rodgers. Buck will someday claim Rodgers is "the best ever" at: 1) adjusting his chin strap 2) clapping his hands to break a huddle 3) hand-offs 4) taking both knees.

My problem with Joe Buck on football games is that he is captain obvious. He never gives any real insight. It's like listening to your grandmother broadcasting a game. It like he's broadcasting for someone that doesn't know the team, players, or the game. They should have a SAP for more knowledable listeners otherwise it's just annoying to listen to.
